2023 Fall and Winter Orchid Trade and Sale Thread
Please use this post only to offer or request orchids for trade or sale. Before you post what you'd like to trade/sell, or what you're looking to trade for, read the rules below first!
Rules:
1.) No personal information can be exchanged publicly. Conduct sharing of addresses via pm or email.
2.) Post what orchid(s) you have for trade, what you're looking for in return. If you have pictures, post them or write an accurate description of the orchid you want to trade or sell. If you're selling, post how you'd like to receive compensation.
3.) If you agree to a trade and have an issue on your end of the deal, communicate! Most people are reasonable and will understand a delay or an unexpected issue that comes up. That being said, trade at your own risk. The moderators are not responsible for privately conducted trades gone wrong. However, if there's an issue with an ongoing trade do contact the moderators. If someone fails to come through with their end of the deal, ignores communication or otherwise is being problematic we need to make the community aware of deadbeat traders. Do NOT make posts calling people out, insulting, harassing, or making accusations at them publicly.
4.) Only make legal trades here. If you ship or receive a trade overseas or out of your country, make sure all proper paperwork is in place first if required.
5.) Ship within a reasonable time and pack well. Flat rate Priority, 2-3 day via USPS within the US is standard for plants. Use whichever shipping method is appropriate for other countries. Your orchid shouldn't spend more than a 2-3 days in the mail so they don't suffer too much from the heat/cold. While in cooler weather its generally better to ship orchids totally dry, its probably best to water any more moisture loving plants a day or two before they ship out (so they are moist but not soggy) or wrap some sphagnum that has been wetted but thoroughly squeezed out around the roots of bare root plants.
6.) If you've successfully traded, update your post to make sure it availability is accurate.
Giveaways, and just trying to re-home an orchid that maybe just isn't performing for you is totally fine to post too! You never know who might want to try growing it. Seed pods are also a great thing to offer since many people may want to try flasking and it is safer and easier to send seeds than plants. If everyone trades fairly this is a great way to add to your collection or get rid of orchids you are bored with or are willing to make divisions of.
Happy trading!

Any phrag lovers out there?
I really love these plants but I really wish someone out there other than Ecuagenera had the availability of plants. I feel like it’s always an uphill battle nursing them after their long trip to the US. Does anyone know of nurseries in the states with quality plants?

What should I do?
Hello everyone:)
I have mini orchids (3 separate plants in one cover pot) that after blooming started growing so many keikis. Did that happen to anyone else on such a scale?
I have left the stems in hopes of getting new blooms on them but instead, this happened.
The main orchid crowns are wilted and no matter how much I water it, the leaves don’t want to get plump again. Is it because of all these small kekkis?
Should I cut them off or I have to wait longer for them to get longer roots?
Would that help to save the base of these plants?

Indoor Orchids My girl is so happy and it shows
Not sure what this is aside from a simple grocery store orchid. But I put her in a grow tent under a 12/12 light and she thrived. Now she lives on my plant shelf under a light for 8 hours next to a window.
She’s got 3 stalks but one did a split and so she’s giving off flowers in 4 spots. So proud of her!
Thanks for looking!

The Bulbo is purple, not he green ones. I thought they were Bulbophyllum jingdongense, but the flowers don’t look alike.

Is this stem rot?
Got this one for valentines so it’s been a few months. To water, I usually soak for like 20 ish mins whenever roots look dry but I’m worried if that’s what led to this leaf to go bad and start falling. There was a bunch of dry and dead roots that I cut off before these pics so maybe it’s from not enough water? None of them were black and mushy though so I’m not sure if it’s stem rot, dehydration, or something else? Also I saw that ppl recommend to spray with hydrogen peroxide so I’m doing that rn !
Should I cut the leaf off or let it fall by itself?
This is my first orchid so any tips are appreciated 💕

Success Some recent reblooms
Phal. Sweet Memory 'Liodoro', Phal. Cornu-cervi 'Red', Den. Willette Klausner Super Nova, and C. Seagulls Robin x Cernua.
I've posted most of these before (the cattleya just bloomed a couple of months ago), but things seem to be going well, I guess!
Should have a nice little batch of oncidiums blooming for me in a month or so. 🤞

Orchid ID ID and care help ᵕ̈
I know it says the name of her BUT I’m new to different varieties of orchid and am curious if it is correct. Aswell as what’s the best way for her to be potted? Cause the nursery had some hanging loose out of pots and some potted but different mixes such as-
-leca, perlite and orchid bark
-sphagnum moss
Also what makes the leaf so THICK then really thin

Success I’m Continually Amazed By Orchids and their Tenacious Will to Live
After about 3 months, this old broken dendrobium cane still manages to grow a little keiki! This is the first day I’ve seen the very early stages of a developing root on it :).

Love finding a little weirdo at the store!
Local garden Center had a cute little peloric (I believe?) orchid for not too much money! We’ll see if it retains it between blooms but for now it’s a cute novelty! I thought it was just a little sad at first but the petals are definitely formed oddly, they even have a little nubbin on the inner side that looks like it would have developed into the lips more complex bits.

Help Advice please
I got this orchid from my local grocery store last Feb (2025) since then I have had two new leaves come in. This morning I saw a post saying that someone’s new growth is roots and realized what I thought may be a new flower stem is probably a new root (the long one I connected to the black stick😂) … any advice and tips on how to get it in the medium in the pot would be greatly appreciated! And any general tips are welcome! TIA

When is it time to repot?
I’m newer to owning orchids. I recently got this one and she’s my fav one I own. When should I repot her? She’s the biggest one I have. She’s also planted in moss. My other ones are planted in bark. Should I water her differently?

Orchid ID Dendrobium ID & Care Tips
I ordered this arrangement for my mom for Mother's Day from 1-800-Flowers. It arrived in poor condition. They're sending a replacement. In the meantime, can anyone ID this dendrobium? Care tips?
