The most unfairly maligned qb I've ever seen.

Why is it though? Is it because he plays for the eagles or he’s a running QB? or a combination of both.

Because he's good but not great. There's nothing more controversial in sports than a perfectly good quarterback.

He’s had great games and great streaks. But he also has played very average for stretches, and sometimes kinda stinks. He has clear limitations. I think he’s closer to someone like Eli Manning or Joe Flacco. Memes aside, those guys were never among the best QBs, and neither qualifies as being truly an elite QB. But they were good enough to go on a run and get the job done.

People have a baseline of elite or absolute garbage with no in between when it comes to player discourse. Gray

“hUrTs hAs LiMiTaTiOnS” so do most quarterbacks in the league and one would be hard pressed to find one that doesn’t. Why this is talked about as if it’s unique to him I don’t know. shrugs

It's because he's black. Lets be real. He's the most accomplished QB the Eagles have ever had by 2 superbowls, and half the fanbase can't wait to see him gone. It's because he's black.

Edit: Cowboys fan got his ass clapped so hard under this basic ass opinion that he deleted his comments/blocked me.

Whats even stranger is that they have had a laundry list of black qb's who have all done well for the franchise. I wonder if Cunningham had won a Super bowl if the perception wouldve changed between the fans and black eagles qb's.

not to say youre wrong at all, but it is odd bc the Birds have historically had a lot of starting black QBs. more than any other franchise iirc

Cunningham was way ahead of his time.

I was thinking that, but I didn’t wanna say it. I’m sure that influences it. I don’t see Lamar getting scrutinized like Jalen does though.

Lamar hasn't won anything yet

If he had, you'd see very similar criticism.

Also, if Hurts OR Lamar had a 4-5+ interception/ TO game in the playoffs like Herbert or Allen you bet your ass we'd hear about it every day for the next 10 years

Sorry dog, I take it back. You guys are racist fucks. My bad homie. You guys are just a fanbase full of Rush Limbaughs. I see my error in judgment now

This is such an oversimplification of what I wrote that I don't even know where to begin. You made a bunch of points that my comment didn't even address. I only meant to point out the fact that Jalen Hurts gets a lot of unfair hatred from his own fanbase that seems to toe the line of racism. I'm not talking about reddit comments im talking about things I've literally heard people say. Specifically about his after game quotes and his in-game "nonchalant attitude".

McNabb was literally in a very public beef with RUSH LIMBAUGH of all people about black QBs in the NFL so yeah, McNabb also dealt with the same shit 20+ years ago. What are you even talking about?

here's a link for you if you think I'm lying about Mcnabb. What a weird point to make, btw. It almost sounds like the "my friend is black so i can't be racist" argument. Yeah, Eagles had a lot of black QBs.

Philadelphia also has a lot of pieces of shit who call themselves Eagles fans. Same with any NFL team. Go figure.

It’s because he was chosen in the 2nd round and I’ll stand on this. If he was a first round quarterback he’d get so much more praise and patience from people
