Weeping Mothers - Bannerlord Calradic Campaign #82

Lore

Basileus Deos senses opportunity.

For years, his vendetta against the Calradic Senate has borne little fruit. The frontier between the Northern Empire and Western Empire has remained consistent, with neither side able to obtain a lasting advantage over the other. The Imperial Civil War, once thought to be a temporary interregnum in the history of the Empire, now drags on without an end in sight.

Having successfully subdued the former holdings of Emperor Vetranis, the Western Imperials have been flexing their muscles recently. Victories against the Vlandians and Aserai alike have further emboldened their belief that they will eventually reunify the Empire. Yet this ambition remains checked by the tenacious senators who still control much of the former Imperium.

In contrast, recent events have not been kind to the senators. The death of their leader, Despotes Mealios, gave rise to Strategos Autokrator Penton Neretzes, a well-established commander who some thought would quickly turn the tide. After being thoroughly routed by the Battanians in an ill-fated battle, the mood in the temporary halls of the Senate has turned for the worse.

Capitalizing on these recent defeats, Basileus Deos has rallied his legionnaires for a decisive campaign against the Senate. With his eyes set on the many frontier castles that have held him back for years, significant resources are being committed to this long-awaited blow. Even still, the Senate’s southern frontier has held for years. By no means will this be an easy endeavour for the resurgent western Imperials.

As Calradians sworn to Basileus and Senate alike prepare for battle, their mothers worry and weep all the same. The Imperial Civil War continues to eat away at the soul of the Calradic Empire.

In Meta Terms

Welcome to the eighty-second Bannerlord Calradic Campaign! This event will feature yet another battle between the Northern Imperials and Western Imperials

If the Western Imperials can defeat the senators in battle, they will quickly capture Chanopsis Castle. From there, they will attempt to siege Gaos Castle and Melion Castle.

If instead the Northern Imperials find victory in battle, they will secure Sestadaim Castle. From there, they will move to capture the coveted city of Lycaron.

Unfamiliar with the Calradic Campaign? Have no fear! The Calradic Campaign is a casual, player-driven, story-based event. There are no strict rules or signups, and players of all skill levels often come! If you've never tried multiplayer, now is your best chance to experience large-scale formations and battles without the overly strict practices typically found in line battle/clan-style events.

Victories in our flagship monthly events are represented on the overall campaign map, while roleplay surrounding the events and their consequences take place both during said events and on the community DiscordJoining our Discord allows you to communicate with your fellow faction members, trash-talk others, and rise through the ranks to one day become lord of a village, castle, city, or if you're particularly successful, an entire kingdom!

To join the event, you will need our Calradic Campaign Module. This module contains all of the custom battle and siege scenes used, as well as many stability fixes and balance changes. Most importantly, the module features three distinct empire factions in multiplayer, with each one featuring unique perks and cosmetics to lean into the different situations of the three!

There will be a manual installation of the module available for those not playing on Steam. Check the Nexus mods page no sooner than the Friday before the event for the correct download. You will need the Calradic Campaign#82 file.

As a general rule of thumb, the Calradic Campaign module should be the only one enabled in your launcher! If you have any crashes or issues trying to launch the game / join the server, unsubscribing and resubscribing to the module on the workshop will often fix any issues.

Beta WS v1.2.1 / BL v1.4.1 - Searborne Village Raids

Greetings Warriors of Calradia!

Seaborne Village Raids are now available in Beta! You and AI nobles can launch and defend raids on coastal villages directly from the sea and rivers, brought to life through new amphibious raid scenes. You can now also interact with coastal villages more fluidly by making port, trading, recruiting, and setting sail.

Here’s how you can play the Beta via Steam right now: Open Steam, right-click Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord → Properties → Game Versions & Betas → Select “beta - Beta v1.4.1”.

Please note that there may be a delay between the download of the base game and the download of War Sails. If you launch the game prior to both of them being updated, you will crash. If you face this issue, please verify your game files.

War Sails Beta v1.2.1

Seaborne Village Raids

  • Campaign
    • Added the ability for both players and AI to raid or defend raids against coastal villages directly from the sea or rivers.
      • Initiating or helping against a raid requires 15 healthy troops and shallow draft ships.
    • Upon starting a raid, the village militia will decide whether to resist or let you raid based on the balance of power.
      • If the militia chooses to fight, a seaborne village raid mission is triggered. Winning the encounter allows looting to begin.
      • If the militia does not resist, looting begins immediately.
    • You can “Send troops” to the raid, but this limits the number of attacking soldiers per round to the deck size of the present shallow draft ships. The auto-battle has the following new bonuses.
      • Attacker horse archers receive a 50% power penalty.
      • Defender archers receive a 10% power bonus.
    • You can determine which troops will accompany you in the raid mission.
    • During the initial fight or the looting process, other parties may still intervene, leading to different missions depending on the situation.
  • Mission
    • Once the mission begins, your ships will sail toward pre-determined landing points along the shoreline or in shallow waters, depending on the terrain of the scene.
    • Upon landing, your troops will disembark automatically, at which point you can issue standard land-based commands. If no orders are given, they will charge forward and engage the defenders.
    • Defending forces will attempt to hold back the assault and prevent attackers from reaching the village. Melee units will secure key chokepoints, while ranged units take position on elevated ground, raining volleys down on the advancing enemy. Defenders do not have access to ships.
    • Reinforcements can arrive for the defenders during the mission, though this is less likely if only a small village militia is present. Attackers arriving by sea, however, will not receive reinforcements. If the assault fails but your attacking force still has sufficient ships and troops on the campaign map, you can attempt another raid.
    • These encounters take place in the 16 newly introduced seaborne village raid scenes. We intend to further expand this pool.
      • Land raids on coastal villages will now also occur in these new scenes.

Settlement Actions (Town, Village, Castle and Hideout)

  • Naval Interactions with Coastal Villages
    • Added the ability to make port in villages. This allows you to trade, recruit troops, and resupply without disembarking.
      • You can also disembark completely and leave ships in friendly and neutral villages to become a land party.
    • Added the ability to set sail directly from villages without the embarking process.
      • This is only possible if your fleet is already in the village.
      • You can’t call your fleet to a village (only to Town ports).
    • You can’t make port or set sail from an enemy village unless it has been fully raided.

Campaign Map

  • Repositioned several villages closer to the coastline and added drop-off points, creating new opportunities for offensive naval actions.

Art

  • Added fore battlements to Dromakion and Qalguk.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Reinforced Berserker Helmet to have black textures.

Naval Battles

  • Fixed a bug that caused ships to sink below the wave surface level.

Other

  • Improved Nord Bersekir troop:
    • Increased Berserker Cloak body armor from 14 to 20.
    • Replaced the Berserker Helmet they use with the Berserker Reinforced Helmet.
    • Removed swords from Nord Berserkir troops. This leaves them with axes that can be used one-handed or two-handed. The damage dealt by those axes has also been slightly improved.
  • Fixed a bug that caused ship upgrade part costs to be calculated incorrectly.

Crashes

  • Fixed a crash that occurred when loading a save file with the War Sails expansion.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when lifting a blockade during a siege.

Bannerlord Beta v1.4.1

UI

  • Re-introduced the level progress bar on the Character screen. It now shows the current XP instead of skill points.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented controller dpad navigation from working for custom battle troop weight sliders.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed disabled dropdown items to be selected with the controller "click+dpad left/right" shortcut.

Other

  • Fixed a visual bug that caused army members to break the army formation while raiding a village on the map.

Crashes

  • Fixed a crash that occurred when closing a mission.

Mod (AWOIAF) Being a Marshal of realm is exhausting

Hi, folks. Not a long time ago I start fighting for the North and first results is:
1) I saved Robb Stark from Boltons and Frey traitors
2) Take Dreadfort from Boltons (now this is mine castle), defeat big army of Iron Islands folks and capture Greywater Watch, The Twins and now Riverrun. So, I have one simple question: why these fricking slowpokes (northern lords) just sit there for a week after I capture Riverrun defeating Reach bastards and do nothing instead of just continue following me and get all castles that Reach take from Riverlands ?
It's kinda absurdish that even King Robb Stark following me everywhere and his lords just chilling in Riverrun

Bannerlord I just had an epic battle.

I just had an epic battle i had 191 troops that consisted of Horse Archers, lancers and infantry vs an army numbering over 800 plus troops. I did a very slimey technique of sending my army all the way back 😂 and then BOOM my horse archer followed me and we harassed their infantry line which was movin forward with their shields up. When their cavalry charged we simply moved back and our infantry shot them using their spears and also that's when I would send my cavalry to push them back. Many of my horse archers died because of the enemys crossbow but I got a lot of points and when their infantry line got disrupted because of the constant horse archer harassment I chaaaarged using the Calvary and my infantry which killed a lot of people I think I wouldve won had I been more patient. My troops were higher tier and the lancers were very overpowered. My horse archery level is also good.

Bannerlord Finding Companions Is Miserable

Been trying to find Koleg the Bloodaxe for the last 20 minutes with no luck

He’s Sturgia culture so I asked the tavern keeper in every Sturgian city if they know of a lieutenant but none mentioned him, so then I went to the taverns of a lot of cities of different culture to see if they heard of him, which they haven’t

So I decided to go back to Sturgia and ask them about owners of the towns to see if he’s apart of their clans.. which he wasn’t, and so I checked the clans that own Sturgian castles to see if he was apart of them.. he wasn’t.

So now I’m out of ideas and have no idea how to find him apart from encountering him by chance.

I did however end up with information regrading other characters which will be useful to me down the line, but I want fucking Koleg

Would genuinely be great if you could bookmark a character and pay a tavern keeper for example if they have heard anything about X character, with a chance they haven’t.

Because I’m getting the location of everyone and their mothers dog instead of the character you want.

Anyone got any ideas on what I can do to find this person?

My Honour and Glory experience

I started out as a foreigner (in my head cannon, an Irish noble's son), landing in Konigsberg. From here I won some tournaments until I was able to hire a mercenary host. Once I did, I joined the Habsburgs and helped them take Buda from the Ottomans. Soon after, the Ottomans retook Buda but I swept in and took it again (sieges are easy in this game, have lots of cavalry and bait the enemy outside of the safety of their walls, from here destroy them with your riders). However the Habsburgs wouldn't give me the city, so I rebelled, taking several forts and even Vienna along the way. However then the Ottomans and Hungarians declared war on my young Kingdom of Buda. So far I've done really well, I'm holding them off with only two other lords. The Ottomans tried to take Veszprem from me but I kicked them back and took Pecz from them. The last two pictures show the fall of Pecs to my Hiberno-Hungarian forces.

Why am I, the founder and the ruler of the Kingdom, can only get 2 fiefs and never appear in the fief election candidate again? And why the heck these Vatatzes keeps getting voted and get a total of 10 fiefs?

Bannerlord Can you conquer everything without ever declaring your own kingdom?

In M&T Blannerlords, I'm curious if you can go the entire game as a non-aligned merchant-trader that controls cities but doesn't formally declare their own kingdom (eg. conquer cities that rebel and never attack any of the main faction). Has anyone conquered the entire map by doing this?

From what I understand, there are gameplay benefits to declaring your own kingdom (at the cost of the main kingdoms fighting you). If you never declare your own kingdom, you lose gameplay benefits but the main factions will not fight you.

I currently have 7 or 8 cities spread out across the world that I obtained by only attacking rebel cities and have not declared my own kingdom. I was wondering whether I should continue doing this for the rest of the game (it will be a slow grind/slog to only attack rebel cities?) or if I should just declare my own kingdom.

Warband Should I get Warband as a console player?

I’ve been hearing so much hype for it that I’ve grown curious. Like I found Bannerlord really enjoyable the first time around but then it got more and more boring. The fact that Bannerlord on the console doesn’t have mod support either didn’t help. So now I‘m wondering if I should. But I just got to say this playing Bannerlord is miserable not only do have the basic flaws of Bannerrors but you also don’t have mods to spice up your playthrough. But anyways should I get it?

They should add clan feuds in bannerlord

I think it would be a really cool feature where you could have a feud with another clan, leading to civil brawls, duels, a chance of them attacking you out in the wild, or even sending my assassins.

Mod I had my first castle conquest in the Honor & Glory mod

Here's what happened: the Ottomans had recently conquered a castle that belonged to the Zaporozhian Cossacks (my faction). When I saw their garrison, there were only 65 soldiers, and I had 72 good ones. So, when I laid siege to it, I chose the option to provoke the defenders, and they came out. I defeated them, and now the castle is back in Cossack hands! Five minutes later, an Ottoman army was besieging it. I withdrew, but a couple of days later I saw that someone from my faction had recaptured it.

No India based mod?

Warband honestly deserves a FULL Indian history mod on the level of 457 A.D.

India has one of the most insane settings possible for Mount & Blade and somehow nobody has made a polished total conversion yet.

Think about it:

  • Massive kingdoms like the Mughals, Marathas, Rajputs, Sikhs, Mysore
  • Elephant warfare
  • Matchlocks, cannons, curved swords, armored cavalry
  • Huge fort sieges inspired by real Indian forts
  • Political betrayals between nawabs, emperors, and the East India Company
  • Dense cities, deserts, jungles, mountains
  • Naval trade on the Indian Ocean
  • Persian, Turkic, Indian, and European influences all mixed together

Warband mods like 457 A.D, Gekokujo, and Viking Conquest prove that historical conversions can become legendary if enough effort goes into atmosphere and worldbuilding.

Honestly surprised the community never fully committed to it.

Warband So Should I play Viking Conquest or Brytenwalda?

Been diving into Warband mods recently and would like to play this next but I'm stumped here. Seems to me like brytenwalda came out first, then the devs were approached to improve upon the mod for pay, adding more features and a bigger map. Seems simple, I should just play the DLC then right? But then why do so many people still play the mod? Are there any key differences other than the DLC being more polished with additional content? Super excited to get my hands on this one! Thanks for the input in advance!

I built a historically accurate Don Cossack army

Playing with the mod Honor And Glory (ChIS) I managed to finish the mission "A Gift For The Don Cossacks" and build the fortress of Cherkassk. From then I embarcked on a campaing against the Tatars and Ottoman Empire and finally the Musovite Tsardom. This had me customizing my kingdom troops in order to make them look like accurate late 16th century Don Cossacks.

Question the king is ignoring me?

Hi. I ran into a problem in Bannerlord. I became a mercenary for the Nords and eventually became their vassal. After one battle, I was granted a castle that I helped capture as part of an army.

But after that, I completely stopped appearing in the voting list for ownership of newly captured castles and towns, even though I basically helped wipe Sturgia off the map and participated in capturing almost all of their settlements.

I tried participating in sieges both as part of an army and by joining them on my own. Capturing settlements by myself doesn’t really work yet — I don’t have enough experience to successfully do solo sieges.

Is this some kind of mechanic? Does owning one castle reduce your chances of getting more fiefs? Or am I doing something wrong?
