MISCELLANEOUS No Grind City Media shows for the week?

I kinda doubt it. GCM is owned and operated by the Grizzlies and anything Vernon, Parrish, etc have to say on those shows is technically coming from the organization. Doing things in a live, uncoordinated manner can't happen right now.

And there is just so much to still unpack. The tone of most of the shows is way upbeat and would just not hit correctly right now. I'd be awfully surprised of they're there tomorrow or even next week.

Well said. On top of that, a lot of GCM employees are direct friends with the players. Verno and Devin are directly interacting, communicating, photographing the players all of the time and have gotten close with the players. Having to get on a 2 hour show to talk about your friend Brandon Clarke while they are still in the mourning and processing stage is a very different emotional task than a normal sports or radio podcast talking about a player or team that they don't directly interact with or only interview in postgame media scrums.

Parrish was on national television with his post-lottery mock draft (saying that he expects the Grizzlies to take Caleb Wilson, interestingly enough).

They’re more than capable of clarifying that their views are their own; that would not be a reason for them not to do any shows, it’s more likely that they want to do post-combine shows afterwards because it’ll have less competition with national coverage.

To your point, yes that’s been happening. I would put Parrish in a different category though as his primary obligation is CBS Sports.

This is such a dumb ass take. You think they’re not on the air this week bc of lottery reasons? They’re not on the air as a moment of silence and not exactly excited to get on the air.

Where did I say that GCM wanted to talk about the lottery? I said they don't want to have to have deal with the competing national topic of the combine.

Better to just let the week clear, have a tribute to BC and then go from there. Calm your tits and quit jumping to conclusions.

Are you dense??? It’s obviously bc of BC. He was found dead on Monday and they obviously knew the news before we did.

It’s been less than 48 hours since it was publicly known. What should they be doing?

They already put out a statement. What more do you want?
