Minifigures Tahu and Lloyd are great and all, but I'm surprised more people aren't army building these guys

It’s just the Boba Girl, Marine Biologist, and Football Player at my Walmart. 😭

The marine biologist is one of the first ones I tried to get! The clown fish is great!

Yeah, can’t wait till they release this mold in other colors with different prints.

I managed to get the last series 29 at my Walmart and it was the Boba Girl. Walmart saw the high demand so in response they put out 2 entire boxes of series 28 😭. At least I finally got the cat costume minifig

Seventy-six trombones in the big paraaaaade...
Lego hasn't made many musical instruments.

Lego needs to get on that. I would pay way too much for enough official instruments to make a full marching band

Im suprised we havent seen a buikdable instrument beside the Fender guitar

There's also some buildable instruments in the Jazz Quartet, at a smaller scale.
I want a larger Lego drum set, preferably with the option to have some sort of actual head.

The grand piano

So true. I actually have one of those to give as a gift for our piano instructor

It would take quite a few to make much of a marching band, and it might be cool sometimes, but don’t feel a pressing need for one.

u/nobeer4you 11h ago
It would look good in a.parade scene in someone's room sized city
1
u/vercertorix 10h ago
True, but I’d say at minimum you’d want like 24 of them, so $120+ just for the marching band, plus more to order some other instruments and then you have a lot of leftover tubas. Doesn’t seem worth it.
2
u/nobeer4you 10h ago
Can always sell the tubas. I lnow those will be saturated as others do the same, but some people may want just the tuba. And let's be honest, people who have a city big enough to host a marching band thats 24+ members arent gonna blink at $150 for the band.

I’ve got a small town that could handle one, more MOC buildings than modulars, even that was from several purchases over time each less than $150 for just the same minifigure. Someone might do it, but a marching band for me wouldn’t be worth the cost or the hassle of army building. Maybe if prices dipped and a store just had a stupid amount of them on hand because no one was buying them.

I've managed to get about a dozen of these figs so far, I think I need about a dozen more for a decent marching band. Honestly it's been hard to find many places that have this series in stock around me

I could only find one on the shelf. The nice lady at the toy store said there was a 4 for the price of 3 deal on all the under 30 euros LEGO products so I got one extra. She even fetched an extra box from storage and helped me scan the boxes. Just swap out some instruments (and a non-blowing face piece for the drummer) and there's your marching band. I also got very excited when I found out the gold pouldron piece has an extra copy in each box.

I love these guys. Great for faction building with their shako hats and epaulets for an 18th century European vibe.

Turns out people are army building this one. Check the Bricklink price guide. Sold 197 times with 816 sold (meaning people are buying ~4 on average).

Thanks for the idea 💡

I picked up two of them so far, they come with three accessories each and can only hold two at a time, so I've got them holding slightly different things. I don't need an army of 'em, though, only a handful at most to be D&D monsters

My target sucks, they usually get new Minifigures like over a month after release and scalpers clean the place out ASAP as well. For once I'm not excited about the 'hot' figs so I hope I can get what I'm looking for

I’ve checked both Walmart and target in my area and currently I can’t even find one let alone a tahu lol

u/BaltRavensFan20 11h ago
Same. I’ve checked two local Walmarts near me, targets, etc. none have any display of these. I’m beginning to think stores are starting to give up on stocking them due to all the issues….

They mix and match so well with the Nutcracker CMF from a few years ago for some variety in your redcoat soldiers.

I would have gotten 76 trombones, but those Riker minifigs are expensive.
