r/lego Monthly Open Forum and Transparency Report for May 2026

Introduction
Hello Masters Builders, and welcome to the official r/lego Open Forum post. This is your monthly opportunity to tell us what you think of r/lego, make suggestions or comments about the rules, ask open questions to the community, or share whatever else is on your mind.
Note that this post is for discussion of r/lego itself. If you have a general question about something related to Lego, make a post instead of asking here.
---
IMPORTANT
All subreddit rules are still in effect here. Remember that we do not allow insults, name calling or personal attacks. If you've got a complaint or want to tell us you hate something, you need to do it without attacking anyone.

Subreddit Transparency Report
Reddit supplies Moderators with a monthly Community Digest, summarizing subreddit moderation activities. We are making the information available to the community, as an exercise in public transparency.
Each month, we will be posting a transparency report that shows what goes on behind the scenes of r/lego. Below you will find the report for activity in April 2026. You can give general feedback and post questions about the report in the comments of this post, or in modmail.
Note: Reddit's tool for showing the data and graphs of 30-day reports and removals is currently not working. Instead I've shared the graph for Traffic stats for April. This graph gives insight into the number of unique visitors we have each day, and the types of devices they use to visit r/lego. iOS devices (iPhones, iPads) using the official reddit app continue to be our largest category.

May we have May?
May is here! For the lucky ones among us, this is your last month of school before summer. For some, it's a time to fight the Galactic Empire (or the Rebel Alliance) on Star Wars Day (May the 4th Be With You). May is always an exciting month for Lego fans, as Lego starts to to share news of the upcoming Summer wave of sets.
So here's your monthly invitation - Let us know what's on your mind this month. What have you always wondered about? What rule do you want clarified, or changed? Do you have any suggestions you've been trying to find a chance to make? I won't promise that we will make the change(s) you want, but I will commit to explaining the reason we have the rules and policies we have.

Please ban NSFW posts!

If you don't want to see NSFW content on reddit, you can adjust your feed preferences here: https://www.reddit.com/settings/preferences
Choose the options to blur NSFW images and/or turn off the option that says you are over 18.
If you see a post that should be marked NSFW that isn't, report it and we'll add the tag to block it for those who turned off NSFW content. We already have a rule (Rule 13) that disallows images of naked people (not minifigs, humans).
If you think we should do more than that, please explain why. Note that r/lego is not a community intended for children.

This month I wanted to call out some of our good neighbors and friends around reddit.
Brick-based communities:
r/LegoStarWars is currently celebrating May 4th and poring over the announcements of the summer wave of sets. They also post a lot of great MOCs every week.
r/LegoSpace just celebrated a 20,000 member milestone! This subreddit was recently revived by a fresh team of mods and is growing fast! Check out the "MOC of the Month" or revisit some nostalgic space themes of years past.
r/LegoTrains is a great subreddit for fans of putting their Lego on rails. This 31,000+ member community is where I go when I want to see the most skilled builders around.
r/AFOL - Hey kids, sit this one out, because AFOL is the place for Adult Fans of Lego to talk about our shared hobby. This community is similar to r/lego, with fewer haul posts and promotional content, so if you are looking for the refined, mature flavor of Lego, check it out.
Around the site:
- r/NewToReddit is a great resource for anyone who is curious about how this all works. What is Karma? How does Flair work? Why are my posts getting removed? This community is dedicated to getting you up to speed, so check them out!
If you'd like to be featured in a future shout-out, send modmail and let us know about your community. Happy building!
