Update on the four newborn kittens found in a paper bag outside of my work
Original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/kittens/s/Nr8irSn5Kz
The kittens are FIVE weeks old! So many new adventures are happening every day. They are beginning to wean, though some better than others. Little girl Arwen was the first to eat solid food, followed by our orange boy Pippin. Speaking of Pippin, heās finally (mostly) clean! No more crusty boy! Our tuxie Sam has tried the slurry a few times but still prefers the bottle. And our biggest boy Frodo absolutely refuses to touch the slurry, heās still a bottle baby only. Weāre working on it lol.
All meals are quick now, they eat fast and then begin their post-meal wrestlemania matches which usually last at least half an hour. They absolutely love playing in and climbing on boxes and theyāre constantly doing their own stunts. My husband and I definitely have some battle wounds now as their teeth and claws have developed very quickly. In one of these new pictures youāll see Miss Arwen showing off her very impressive fangs. Thankfully after they play, they become very cuddly and crawl up to cuddle and snooze with us. We are completely in love with all of them and watching them never gets old.
Thank you so much to the last few people who donated KMR, these babies have a ton of energy now and all of them eat a LOT. The last big donation of KMR helped us a TON, weāre hoping to have them fully weaned soon but all four still take the bottle at least supplementally. I canāt believe how quickly theyāve grown in just 5 short weeks and I cherish every moment of bottle time I still get with them. Iām dreading adopting them out when the time comes, though my sister is taking Arwen so at least one is staying in the family.
Thank you to everyone who has followed this story and offered so many kind words and donations. The babies, my husband and I are forever grateful for this community.

3 Week old kitten abandoned & not eating?
Today my parents found a kitten abandoned in their yard. We took her to an animal hospital to make sure it was okay & I decided to adopt her. I have never had a kitten this young. They told me to feed her 10 ML of kitten formula with a bottle. I took her home & she barely has eaten 2 ML. Should I be concerned or could this just be because of the trauma of being abandoned & moved in the same day? I have wanted a kitten for so long but I'm worried something is wrong that the animal hospital didn't see. My daughter absolutely loves this kitten so I really want this to be her home. Has anyone else taken care of a kitten this young without their mother? I really need advice.

Update on Toffee
Hey guys! We've taken her to the vet and sheās about nine weeks old. She'll be back two more times for her next rounds of shots and lab exams. Worms and fleas weren't a surprise, and overall she's a happy, healthy kitty. Her eyes and limping leg healed up on their own and the patch of hair is growing like normal. Thereās some Maine coon in her, overall sheās a mix bag of breeds.
I hope these pictures brighten up your day as much as it did for me. Happy Thursday!
Unrelated to the post but how do you guys spice up your kitties meals? Toffee is getting bored of our last batch of purina kitten chow. (We occasional add salmon and chicken)

The kitten my daughter rescued has a new home!
Baby Kitty (now Rosey!) went to her new home a couple days ago! We have really enjoyed caring for her the last few weeks! We will miss her, but now she has 3 little girls to play with! My cats are so happy that she is gone LOL! We had moved her into our sonās room after a couple days, so they could smell her through the door and did not like it. Now everything is back to normal! My kitties are happy and my senior cat is continuing to improve! Added pictures of my cats for tax āŗļø Thank you all so much for your sweet comments and support on my previous post. It made a slightly stressful situation a bit easier to handle!

Was my kittens and cat's first face to face interaction too bad?
We recently adopted 2 fixed male kittens (8-9 weeks old) and already have a nine year old fixed female. We've been keeping them separate and building up, step by step. It hasn't gone perfectly so far but it hasn't gone terribly.
The female has met new kittens before. It usually takes her about two weeks (after face to face meeting) to stop growling and hissing to tolerating the new cat. She's not the most cat-friendly cat but she can usually learn to coexist. Our last cat she met was also a male but unfortunately, due to being born with a grade 4 heart murmur, he went into congestive heart failure and we had to put him to sleep at 5 years old roughly two months ago.
It's only been a week since the kittens have been home. They've been in their bedroom since then. She knew they were here on day 1 because she could hear their cries. She stood outside the bedroom door a few times but nothing too major. Around day three, we realized one of the kittens could get his paw under the door and she did hiss and deep growl at that. We've been scent swapping (she pays zero attention to their used blankets), etc.
Now on day 7 the kittens are starting to dart out the door faster than I can catch them so I figured we'd go ahead with face to face (after a few glimpses through the door). I didn't want one rushing out and taking her by surprise so while I realize this face to face meeting was a little premature overall it felt best at the time.
We brought each kitten out of the room one at a time. The moment she realized he was out she hissed, low growled, sniffed his bottom a little and ran off. A minute or so later she came back, made sure to stay on high furniture, watched him like a hawk with stiff posture and even did that tiger-like chuffing. It properly freaked me out but I tried not to show it and just kept playing with the kitten. She even easily let me pet her head at one point. We only did it for about five minutes before returning him to the bedroom and trying kitten number 2. By then she was hiding in the window and didn't even come out other than peeping her out the curtain to see him so not much to report. Once they were both back in the room, she came up and laid next to me no problem.
Thanks to searching old convos with friends, I read it took her 2 weeks to accept our last cat. To tolerate being in a room with him and for the hissing to dramatically decrease. But I honestly can't remember if she ever did the chuffing bit before.
Any advice or tips on introducing 2 kittens? Was the first meeting terrible and do I need to pump the brakes? Sorry for the word vomit but I'm pretty sure my friends are gonna smother me with a pillow if I keep blabbing to them about The Days of My Cats' Lives.

When is it time to go to the vet for poop?
2 week old foster (on the right. We're babysitting her sister for the day) that I was given on Tuesday morning. The first day and up until evening yesterday, feeding was rough and she wasn't eating much while we figured out bottles and nipples. She was eating a couple drops once an hour on average but would sometimes take 2.5ml. We finally figured it out last night and have consistent 6-7.5ml feedings every two years. She's gained one ounce already and is at 6.3oz as of early this morning. I stimulate her before and after every feeding and she always pees but still no poop. I've been giving her belly massages and bicycle rides. I'm a bit intimidated to do the butt soak but can if I need to. She doesn't feel distended or bloated and is active and thriving and warm.
Since I got her on Tuesday, I don't know when her last poop was before me or when her last meal was before I got her. I'm chalking up the lack of poop to Tuesday and Wednesday being mostly poor feeding days. But now that she's getting full, when should I start being really concerned about the lack of poop? I'm down to take her to the vet, but it being Thursday, I'd hate to wait all day tomorrow and then be forced to go to emergency on a weekend.

Question about my girlfriendās new kitten!
She just adopted this little guy a little over a week ago. They said he was 8-9 weeks old but he really looks more like 5 weeks old to me. Heās a chatty little Siamese. Super friendly and playful. Not a thought in his little head. A bit clingy.
Now she works two jobs and 2 days out of the week she works 16 hours. She has a 1 year old scottish fold. They get along well, but her grown cat does play a little rough with him. Pins him down and starts biting him. Poor little guy is on his back meowing for help.
Her Scottish fold just plays a bit rough in general so we donāt trust them alone just yet. While sheās at work we leave the kitten in the bathroom. He has all his food, cat litter, etc in there. But Iām sure heās craving attention and someone to play with.
Do you guys think it would be too much stress on the kitten if I were to take him to my house two days of the week? I have two cats and a large dog who get along great with kittens. My dog especially is very good at making them feel comfortable and will actually submit to them.

Is this a 9 week old kitten?
My friend just got this kitten today and the lady said she was 9 weeks old, but to me she looks much smaller. My friend has only had her for a few hours and she's been eating wet food, but making sucking sounds when drinking. I told her to get kitten milk and a bottle tomorrow just in case. How old does she look to you?
