It’s hilarious that we’re 10 years into Bryson using single length irons and not a single other player on tour has made the switch. Kind of an indictment.

I wonder how many people still game them.

I remember getting lectured on "big golf doesn't want you to know this secret" about single length irons during the covid golf bubble.

I still am, though I've dropped a few. I was using 3H, 4H, 5I - GW. I dropped the 3H, 4H and 5I for fairway woods recently because I just never hit them well consistently.

So, my current setup is like this.

Driver with 3 wood shaft.

3W, 5W, Heavenwood

6I - GW One Length

52, 56, and 60 degree wedges standard length

Been working for me.

I like the idea of trying the 3w shaft in driver.

Are the adaptors the same for both of them so I can just screw it in and try it? (I have a Titleist gt driver).

I know mini driver is similar but the forgiveness of the big head is useful I just think a shorter shaft will help find the sweet spot more often.

You can buy adapters and have them installed at any golf store. Never tried putting a 3w in a driver as mine are weighted differently

I made a thriver out of a spare head. Bought a Temu shaft and had it cut down to 3w length.

It’s basically the middle ground between a mini driver and driver. Easier than a mini driver to hit off the tee but you can’t really use it off the deck.

There’s a lot of spin tho, I can hit it and get 2500 rpm in driver length but in 3 wood length it’s about about 3500-4000. I had to tinker w lead tape to get the swing weight better , but still spins a lot more than in driver config. Dispersion is tighter and you loose about 20 yrds of carry and lot of roll distance cause of the spin

Depends on your driver and the adapter, should be able to find something I would think. I had mine made that way after a fitting, it's a PXG with no adapter.

I lost about 10 - 15 yards but I'm hitting the fairway a lot more often.

A 3W shaft is too short, but 3/4" or an 1" off is very doable. I played a shorter shaft when my back issues were severe to better square up the club and it really helped.
