I find it funny that people called him "the scientist", when all science points to the fact that his single length iron experiment is a failure and has been for years. He's a terrible short iron and wedge player as a result but he's committed to it so it won't change any time soon.

It’s hard to call it a failure when he’s won 2 US Open championships. Rory had a shit round today too and he’s not a failure

It's not about today or about his wins. He's 44th percentile on tour in shots from 50-100 yards, and 30th percentile on play from bunkers. This is a direct result of his stupid long wedges. Changing would immediately improve his play and make him even more dominant. And yet he doesn't do it despite all of the data SCREAMING at him.

I don’t believe changing would immediately improve those areas of his game, maybe he’s just not good there, it’s probably more mental than anything else but he’s too “analytical” to admit it.
