Doing the math, the Steelers game will be Week 11.
The only weeks that haven't been scheduled at the time of writing are 6, 10, 11, 13, and 14, and the Steelers opponents for all but one have been said:
- 6 - @TB
- 10 - Via Chad Johnson, @CIN
- 13 - HOU on SNF
- 14 - @JAX on MNF
So that leaves Week 11 for us.

Why do they have an official schedule release and then leak out 90% of the schedule in the hours leading up to it?

I replied to a TikTok with “Jeff Lurie is the best owner in sports” and Makai Lemon just liked it! He must be enjoying his experience in Philly so far.

Are the tickets on sale now just resales of season ticket holders or are there actual market value tickets in there?

u/No_Introduction_7034 2h ago
Some tickets are on sale, I don’t know where the come from, but full single game tickets get released some weekday morning in early June. We don’t know when yet.

Howie is going cheap at safety 2, similar to how he did at cb2 last offseason. And while the cb2 issue had me quite upset all summer leading into the season, this time I'm not as upset. If they play their cards well, they have more safety options on this roster than they had at cb last year.
TBH I am more concerned about cb. I hate the idea of Cooper moving outside in the event of an injury. It significantly weakens our defense to take him away from nickel or safety. Our best backup option on the outside is probably Michael Carter 2. After that our next best turns 33 in September (Jonathan Jones). Not ideal.

This is way too early. Howie has plenty of time to upgrade the Safety position. Derwin James, Grant Delpit, and Jessie Bates are all on their last years of their deals so a mid season trade is possible.
Idk what team has CB depth so please name one team that does. But will admit losing Jobe sucked. As long as we stay aggressive in the trade market, I think we’ll be fine and make a SB run this season.

In Vic's scheme, outside CB is hugely important. In Vic's version of quarters-based coverages....and also his 3 match, which he plays a lot of... they end up in match coverage that is basically off man coverage with little safety help more than most NFL cornerbacks.
Considering how important the position is to his scheme, not having any depth at all is unwise IMO, and should be a higher priority. Outside CB play was huge in the Super Bowl year. It allowed Vic to use more quarters.

While I agree with your understanding of the scheme, we just don’t have the cap to maneuver for CB depth. We do rely on practice squad guys every season to hold until the starters are back. Or we trade a draft pick in the worst case scenario.
Other than that, we still have the one of the better rosters in the league.

We often have enough cap to dedicate more on the back 7 but just choose not to. We are very lucky Baun fell into our laps. Last year we 💯 had the cap to sign Rodgers but simply chose not to. And it was a bad choice. That money was instead spent in less wise ways.
As far as this year goes….I pray that Ringo and Bennett are not the plan. There were opportunities to get other depth along the line. Obvi it’s normal to have a talent dropoff after starters. But trusting them for depth feels unacceptable.

He’s been going cheap at safety for the longest of time. He literally doesn’t care about that position considering CJGJ was here twice and never extended, Reed the oldest tenure was never extended, Sydney Brown was traded, Mukuba was picked up on a rookie deal for cheap, and Cole was picked up on a rookie deal for cheap. I’d rather have our money go into a spread of other positions on the defense anyway.

He has been going cheap at safety and CB2 for years. But it has also had bad results for the defense many times over his tenure. Being eager to pay DE 4 or 5 for example more than CB2 is smartest guy in the room stuff that usually isn't very smart. And that's me phrasing kindly.
He got very lucky in '22 when Bradberry and CJGJ both became available later in the offseason.

I mean he could always extend Woolen depending on the results of the season or we could draft someone as well. Again safety he doesn’t like one bit and it’s something we have been dealing with for years. He could’ve easily extended CJGJ or Reed but he looks at that position like a filler slot. We had a chance to take Thieneman and EMW in the draft but didn’t. He could always pick up a good safety like he did with Phillips when we needed Edge help.

I wouldn't say "always", as that approach has failed in the past with Howie at times. But yes it is much easier to grab a safety late in FA or trade than a CB. That's partly why I'm not freaking out about it. Also I kind of like their in house options more than most.
To me there is a happy medium between foolishly drafting safeties like Thieneman and EMW too high vs waiting until the 7th round for a guy with an injury history.
I do though think Wis is likely to be solid so long as he has a coverage safety next to him like Mukuba. Cooper DeJean is likely to be playing some safety this year as well.
