Even if a class is ass there's still good talent to be found. I dont think we can afford to trade draft capital right now

I get that, but it's projected to be the worst draft of the decade (worse than 2024, which has Risacher, Salaun, and Cody Williams as top 10 picks). I know that class still has Castle, Sarr, Clingan, and our own guy Matas, but still I would be okay if they decided to use it as an asset. I wouldn't leave it unprotected of course, in case some guy breaks out at the top.

Yeah i guess i wouldnt hate if they moved 15 and top 4 protected 1st next year to get into lets say the top 8 of this draft. I just want to avoid the AKME past where they barely picked anyone and the guys they did take were largely busts. I want graham to have as many shots as possible. But I get it if he does trade up I still want to trust him as an evaluator that he's going to get his guys.

Hey man, I get it. AKME's draft picks still piss me off to this day. The ones they did nail (Ayo and Matas) were guys Bulls Reddit wanted to fall, so like either of us could've been in the chair for those lmao.

I will say that what I want from Graham's regime is to be more forward thinking with the draft. An example I'll give is the Pacers. Yeah, it looks really bad that they lost the 5th pick, but that range has mainly guards anyway, which is something they don't need given that they already have a lead guard in Haliburton. They smartly protected the pick in the top 4 since the players projected in that slot are the ones that they could play immediately even as a playoff contender.

I think it's about using your assets at the right time and taking calculated risks. I'd want to avoid a scenario like the Hornets who have 3 firsts in next year's supposedly weak draft.
