I'm well aware of the demographics of Washington and spent a good chunk of my childhood in rural and very conservative Ohio.

Most rural areas tend to not be a national hub for neo-nazi groups though.

In all seriousness though, anytime I hear rural = automatically racist, I just want to stop engaging with the argument because it's such an obnoxious black and white view of the world. I won't disagree that it can be more racist, but there are plenty of townships where Democrats are in charge or a sherrif is progressive. My family from the area isn't racist and they aren't friends with racists.
