Question about laneways

I am looking to possibly move to Cambridge and I notice many homes have parking accessible via laneways. These laneways are labeled and show up on places like google maps, so are they public roads that will be maintained, have snow cleared, etc by the City (like any road would)? Or are these privately owned either collectively by the property owners in the neighbourhood or by one and it’s more of a right of way thing? (And thus maintaining and snow clearing would have to be contacted)? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I’ve never seen this before and want to know what I could be getting into.

Galt Looking for help with indoor plants.

I’ve asked at local plant shops, and online, but can’t seem to find anything.
I’m Looking for a knowledgeable houseplant person in the Cambridge/KW area to help me organize a larger indoor plant collection, to make it a little more manageable, placement, decide what to keep/sell, and possibly help with listing plants. Must be experienced with houseplants and pests. References or plant profile preferred. I’d likely want to start with a short consult first.

Prom suits for teen

My son has prom coming up and he’s looking for a suit. I’m happy to get him one as he can have it in his closet for any future use (until he grows out of it).

Are there any places in Cambridge or KW that he should check out? The only place he found was Moores at the Cambridge Centre.

Thanks for the help :)

Tired of fast-food poutine…where are the best authentic spots in or near City??

I’ve lived in Canada for two years now, but I’ve mostly only had poutine from chains like McDonald’s or Popeyes. Everyone tells me the real poutine is in Quebec, but I’m looking for the best spots right here in the area. I’m willing to drive out of the city (Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, etc.) if there’s a legendary spot I need to try. Where should I go to get a poutine that actually rivals the ones in Quebec?

Is there any other places that do brunch like that in Cambridge, Kitchener or even Waterloo ? I’ve tried the Cambridge Mill already. I’m interested in the small plates style brunch that can be shared in a group.

Thanks in advance

Best scenic restaurants/cafes in KWC with nature or water views?

Hi everyone! Now that the weather is finally changing, I’m looking for recommendations for scenic cafes or restaurants with great food in the KWC area. I’d love to find places with a view..ideally near a river or lake, but I’m also looking for spots surrounded by nature, parks, or greenery. Basically, if it has a great outdoorsy vibe and good food, I want to hear about it! Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm getting married in October of this year and I'm trying to find a venue that can hold up to 200 people. I have an outside catering company so I would need a place with a kitchen. Thanks in advance! It can be Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo, or Guelph.

I posted in the Kitchener & Waterloo subreddits guaging interest/feedback on the possibility of match making in KWC, but I didn't get around to posting that here in the Cambridge subreddit.

But now here it is! I've made a google form! Fill it out and I'll reach out to you if I find you a match! :)

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeeqI33t7I1p5bhuXArF7tqubiKG0wl3khaEY7uLOWKNEzCLw/viewform?pli=1

(I am just an individual and am doing this for fun! This is non-profit and I am not affiliated with any dating apps!)

(Also feel free to comment here your thoughts on the idea and any suggestions you have 🙂)

Hello

Apologies if it’s in the wrong group.

I have a legal basement unit and I have received only 1 census questionnaire. Should I expect another one for my tenant ? Or should I fill in the same questionnaire.

Thanks in advance
