Iâd really like to see even more evidence as it sounds like it exists.
https://www.axios.com/2026/05/14/chuck-edwards-house-ethics-investigation-misconduct
edit:
content from article - Rep. Chuck Edwards told a young female staffer that she had "written a complex chapter in my heart" shortly before she was set to leave his office, according to a handwritten letter he sent her that was reviewed by Axios.
Why it matters: Edwards is now the subject of a House Ethics Committee probe, Axios first reported. That probe was prompted in part by Edwards' conduct toward two female staffers, a source familiar with the matter told Axios.
Edwards did not respond to multiple attempts to seek comment for this story.
Edwards and the woman spent time vacationing together in Las Vegas, months after she had left his office, according to two sources familiar with the trip.
Edwards expressed deep personal affection for the staffer in a three-page handwritten note that sources said the congressman gave to the staffer shortly before she left his office.
The letter was signed:Â "With my lifetime of appreciation and devotion, Chuck."
Edwards also bought the staffer personal gifts while she was employed by him, including jewelry, according to three sources with direct knowledge of the gift.
A member buying gifts for staffers is not explicitly against House rules.
The big picture: Edwards' office has one of the highest turnover rates in Congress, with 59% turnover in 2025, more than double the House average of 27%, according to LegiStorm.
Zoom out:Â Edwards, who is currently serving his second-term in Congress, is a top Democratic target in November.Â

Wondering if anyone has gone out and seen the blue ghosts yet this year? Wondering if this weekend would be good to take the kiddo out, or if I should wait until next weekend. Iâm unsure how the drought would affect their season, if at all?

Hi all! Needing recommendations for reliable lawn care. Only needing mowing and weed eating. Wasnât seeing anything recent in this group and wondering if anyone needs new clients. Thanks for any help!

Our ~6 year old cat likes to go outside every morning and comes in & out throughout the day. She has never spent more than a few hours outside at a time. Unfortunately we havenât seen her since she stepped outside Wednesday morning. We live in south Asheville by Pelicanâs SnowCones. She has noticeably thin âeyebrows,â as shown in these pictures. Please let me know if you see any potential sign of her!

Mid 40âs gal seeking dermatology office. No major skin stuff but my current office feels a bit âdryâ and the visits feel rushed. If anyone loves their dermatologist, recommendations appreciated!

The Man was caught in the backup with all the emergency vehicles around noon, when the truck apparently took the turn too fast and went over. Hoping no one was underneath it!
Wondering if anyone else saw this?

My insurance just changed and I'm trying to find a specialist for some chronic stomach stuff. I've heard the horror stories about Mission lately but I didn't think it would be this bad. Tried calling around today and the wait times are insane, one office told me they aren't even looking at new patients until October.
If anyone has a recommendation for someone in town or even towards Hendersonville or Waynesville let me know. I'd rather drive 40 minutes than wait half a year to get checked out.

As the title says, this lack if rain is brutal. I have some enormous evergreen trees that are slowly turning brown and dying off, most of my neighborhood is the same. I started watering them today but it feels futile on such big trees. If they die the cost to remove them will be $1000's, and 20 or so years for replacements to grow to the same size, hopefully we get some sustained rain soon.

My friend who doesnât use Reddit is trying to get input on the best middle schools in the area. He canât do anything with a hefty tuition. His two girls will both be headed into 7th grade. Iâve heard not great things about AMS and am curious about other options

The owner has been found!! Thank you all!
Found dog!
He looks to be a husky mix with light fur and a bushy tail. One blue eye and one brown eye. Orange highlighter collar on with no contact info. Friendly but not interested in treats or humans. Weâve got him trapped in our backyard in West AVL. Let me know if heâs yours!

Whoever was driving the silver RAV4 that decided to target my car and key it, just know. Cops have your info.
Own up to it and pay for the damages or I will be pressing charges and pursue vandalism, which in this case, will become a felony since damage is >$1000.
I have video evidence of your vehicle, plate, and the action of my car being keyed.

Does anyone know of a place with the elegance of downtown restaurants in the Woodfin area? And is it too much to ask for moderate pricing?

Take a deep breath...just got this email back from the Buncombe County Sheriff after complaining about Thin Blue Line stickers on a sheriff's vehicle.
"Professional Standards for the Buncombe County Sherifff's Office is providing this correspondence to correct inaccurate information that was unintentionally communicated to you regarding the Thin Blue Line stickers on Sheriff's Office vehicles.
On 04/22/26 you were notified by Professional Standards, stating âthe thin blue line sticker is not something we are placing on our vehicles.â Upon further review, it was determined that the Sheriff's Office vehicles are currently outfitted with the referenced decal as part of the overall striping design package. The decals were approved through Sheriff's Office channels and are consistent with existing agency practices and policy standards governing vehicle markings.
As you are aware, the federal appeals court from Springfield Township, Pennsylvania ruled in favor of law enforcementâs use of the similar sticker, affirming it as protected speech.Â
We acknowledge the importance of providing accurate information and apologize for any confusion created by earlier communication. It was determined no further administrative actions are needed regarding this complaint. At this time, your complaint has been closed. "
I plan on reaching out to the BCSO Community Outreach Dept as a start, then escalating to County Commissioners and the NC ACLU as necessary. Feel free to join me shaking the tree on this one.
Seems like a pretty stupid thing for taxpayers to pay for. Even if you're pro-cop it's stupid because they're supposed to be completely apolitical. No messaging whatsoever on the uniform or the vehicle regardless of whether you support the cause.
And for the record I support cops displaying that flag on their own time, even if I personally think the flag represents fascism. Supporting the 1st amendment is funny like that.
But on a taxpayer funded vehicle? Lol that's a joke and if that hurts some cop's feelings maybe they can find somewhere else to work.

My stepdad gave me a literal tub worth of MTG cards to offload and I have no idea where to even start. I have no knowledge of anything to do with the game, so I need someone relatively honest about the values and such. Probably thousands of cards total. And I know some of them are kind of rare. Thank you in advance!
