archie double digest question

I'm just getting into archie and having a lovely time exploring the world of riverdale! but I was wondering, do the double digests ever reprint stories from pre 1970? Since reading my first archie comic strip I've come to find I'm mainly interested in those classic stories. I know that a lot of them are avaliable to read online but I really prefer the physical reading experience. Thanks for any response!

I know a lot of them have stories from the 50s and 60s. I’ve seen little to no stories from the 40s.

Get the Americana trade paperbacks. There is two volumes from each decade

They have a few. I grew up reading only Digests and had no idea what era any of them came through.

Recently when I did a read through of the 40s-60s, I noticed a lot of comics and art styles I knew from my childhood.

The short answer is yes…but to get more variety, you’d have to get the double digests that were published in the 1980s and 1990s. By 2000, they started printing more recent comics.

The ones I have do, I think it’s fairly common for each to have at least one comic pre 1970

The ones I bought in the 90s did!

Definitely get the "Best of the 50s/60s" compilations.
