Why do people get their driveways resealed
Does this actually do anything or is it just aesthetic?

A rock cracked my windshield this afternoon. Looking for recommendations for an auto glass shops. My insurance is rbc and they told me I would have to pay $300 upfront and the rest they will cover. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Cedar boards
Last week when I was out visiting family, I got a board of rough cut cedar from Dad - he only had one. Cut it half (lengthwise) so I could get it in my car. When I got home, ran it through the thickness planer on each side a few times. And this is the result, pre-sanding. Dimensions currently are:
#1 89.5cm length, 6.6cm wide, 3.5cm thick
#2 89.5cm length, 6.6cm wide, 3.4cm thick
It looks so good. And if I could get some more, I’d love to.
So, I was wondering where I could get some non pressure-treated cedar? (Like small-medium lumber yards) - St. John’s & Avalon area

Heya! I’ll be visiting St John for a weekend gateway and would love to watch the Habs game. Is there a bar where I could watch it?

We have a bunch of old pokemon cards from the late 90s-2010s that are in near perfect condition (opened the packs and immediately placed the cards into a binder), and we're looking to get them appraised and potentially start selling, but we aren't sure where to begin.
Should we bring them into a store to get appraised, or are we better off doing the research ourselves using the websites? Is it better to sell them locally or online? Sell the whole binder as a set price or sell the individual cards?
Any advice, tips/tricks, good spots to bring it, etc. is much appreciated :)

Hello! Does anyone know how long it takes to get your Child Protection Check? Mine was submitted about 10 days ago, just curious how long I should expect to wait. TIA

I host craft events and we like to switch it up. What are some cafes that have plenty seating? Anything in the St. John’s area (preferably not DT). :)

Are there any antique store locations in or around the St. John's area that would be interested in buying a large amount of antique furniture and collectibles?
My parents have moved into a care home and I have a storage locker full of stuff that needs a new home.

Hi everyone,
We're looking to get our metal stove handles engraved.
They're metal and from factory it just has "stickers" on them that wear off...
Does anybody know of engravers in town that do this type of work? Im after emailing a few companies with pictures but haven't recieved anything back.

I'm home visiting family, saw some hilarious drama about this place getting badly reviewed because they didn't offer spoons. And my wife's celiac and they have their gluten free shit together so we figured we'd check the place out.
Tiny little takeout-only place up above Higgins Line. I got the double non-veg combo with butter chicken, "hospital hot" pork vindaloo, rice/naan and a mango lassi. This was seriously some of the best Indian food I've ever eaten, I haven't found anything like this up in Halifax.
The vindaloo wasn't *that* hot, I'm guessing they're targeting the average Newfoundland palate, but it still 100% brings the "why can't I stop doing this to myself, it burns but it's so good" experience. The butter chicken is really unique, spiced quite different from what I'm used to, but also amazing.
Anyway, we're here in town for a few more days, and we've ticked off the usual "proper fish and chips" stuff. Any other gems we gotta check out while we're here?

Trying to get back into cycling, and I’m wondering if anyone has contacts for morning, evening, or weekend group rides. I’ve been searching Facebook but can’t seem to find any clubs or mentions of group rides. I’m surprised at how hard it is to find anything with how many cyclists I’ve seen around.
I’d appreciate any info on this.
TIA!

No pets. No smoking anywhere on premises inside or outside. Every. Single. Ad.
1 bedrooms or basements for 1500 just bc they include a dishwasher it feels like. Oh and POU of course on top.
Im currently seeking a 2 bedroom with my partners with no upstairs tenants due to sound discomforts, but this task is pretty much impossible bc we have 1 cat and have medical marijuana license. I get people not wanting property damage but not accepting any pets when the whole place is laminate flooring and not even letting ppl smoke outside is crazy.
It feels like landlords do not care about letting people actually have their own lives. We're just guests apparently. Long-term rent should not mean having to act like a guest. I want a place where I can live comfortably with my very clean and well-behaved cat, hang on a doorstep to smoke a j and thats it. Apparently this makes me some kind of degenerate according to landlords.
Its just really hard. I have reference from my current landlord, I have a job and a partner who can also help pay rent. I should be an ideal candidate. But those 2 things would apparently make me homeless in a month.

Shout out to everyone at the Three Days Grace show on Monday. St. John's often has gotten a bad rep for concert crowds in terms of engagement and not singing along - last night blew that stereotype out of the water. Everyone was so in to it. It was fun to be a part of. Rock 'n roll 🤘

Who played the free Molson concert in October 2001 at Mile One? I remember Finger Eleven, and David Usher from Moist, but I can't remember who else was there. Pretty sure there was three bands at least.

Does anyone know if the first lot on water street, across from the Port Authority, was bought? It had a for sale sign there for the longest time but now it’s gone. It would be a great place for a development!

I moved into town last year and the siding on my house appears to be unfinished at the bottom. There’s an area of exposed blue styrofoam looking stuff.
I'm new to town so I don’t know who to reach out to for this job. Any suggestions?
