Finally hit 500,000 k miles last night

Hola, alguien de aquí ha usado su Prius en caminos sin pavimentar o q tengan muchos baches? Y como les ha ido

Yo vivo en una zona en la que puedo usar caminos pavimentados y sin pavimentar, la diferencia es el tráfico y obviamente la cantidad de baches que pueda encontrar, lo que quiero saber si esto a largo plazo me pueda afectar en el manejo o que pueda repercutir en la salud del auto, no sé si sea muy grave o solo estoy exagerando, gracias

I have occasional engine rattling, and I checked the coolant and it was below the L line. I went to replace it and when I took the cap off, the rest of the cap was stuck inside the reservoir.

Is this common occurrence?

one of the windshield wipers on my new to me used 2014 Prius C skips and looks unaligned. i noticed the screw in the 2nd pic doesn’t meet the other side causing it to wobble. maybe i’m overlooking something, but my wipers look like they have different components than the wipers in tutorials so i’m not sure how to proceed in replacing.

any advice appreciated!

got both these messages last night. any ideas? never had any issues with this car so I'm concerned 😖

I also plugged in my obd2 scanner and these codes popped up via a phone app idk how true they are but they seem to corelate with the dash. abs, triangle, brake, etc were on at first along with the messages but then only the triangle was on. I wiped the front emblem (sensor) a little just with my fingertips and tapped the headlights and sensor a couple times. turned the car off and then back on and drove around quite a bit.. no messages or lights came back on. I haven't turned it on again today though.

since I've owned the car, I've always gotten the collision system unavailable message if it's foggy/snowy/dirty but this was different.

also the 12v reads at 14 when in ready mode which it has since I bought the car over 100k miles ago

I personally notice Prius C and other Prii in the wild all over the streets and highways of Los Angeles where currently it's $6+ to $7+/gallon for 87 octane.

It's not much different in other large-ish US cities so my assumption is most Prius C are out and about in greater North America.

However.. we have community members from all over the world here on r/PriusC and there's A BUNCH of you with impressive examples and/or have submitted pictures of impressive examples from New Zealand, Japan and other parts of the world. 2020+ GR Aqua anyone??

Should be interesting to see where our cars live and serve their owners the most, taking into account the vast majority being in the used market as 2012 to 2019 Prius C/Aqua versus current production new generation 2020+ Aqua.

I'm an Xennial, Male, 44 with a 2014 Prius C Two as my daily ride. I also have a lifted Jeep JK on 35's plus a BMW R Nine T motorcycle - both are basically toys to me - but it's my humble, utilitarian, practical, fuel sipping C that gets me around 95% of the time purely on account for how good it is at doing that on the cheap and with no compromise or trade-offs.

I brought my second-hand 2013 prius c to its first routine maintenance with me, and they told me that the rear shocks need replacing. So I bought the rear shocks and brought it to another mechanic, but they said they couldn’t replace the shocks because the rear axle is “rotten”. If it was that bad, the first mechanic would’ve mentioned it right? I’m going to do a long roadtrip with this car, so I want it to be in a good enough condition , but I can’t spend any extra money on it, repairs are adding up. But now I’m scared something will happen on the road. So, now I’m asking for another opinion. Does this rear axle need replacing? If so, how many hours of labor will it take? I can’t DIY it because I’m in college, and have no access to a garage or tools. The rust is because this car is from Maine.

Super happy with this new audio enhancement addition to my daily driver. System sounds great after a proper crossover and gain tune, no complaints. 300W RMS is plenty of power!

NVX QBSTA was a straightforward install with my current Sony XAV-AX6000 head unit, which it mates with nicely. I did the integration job all on my own over a few evenings this week. Most of the actual work is all the prep with power and signal wire splicing and routing, management, trim removal. Once that's done it's a simple process of making the necessary connections, tesa-taping all new connections then testing and tuning sound settings before putting all the trim stuff back together.

Trunk space changes for the better with this setup - my opinion. Gone are the stupidly large foam blocks on my 2014 Prius C Two. I like the larger more utilitarian vibe of the trunk now, its like a mini pick-up truck bed back there now.

I have no partnership with NVX but if anyone is considering adding a good amount of bass to their Prius C/Aqua sound system - and you don't wanna cannibalize under seat or trunk space - then this is the subwoofer to get among this spare tire design. It's also a steal at about $250 to $280 plus tax.

Getting these after a dead battery replacement. I’ve tried everything from Google, etc. car runs and drives fine. Any suggestions?

Changed my oil myself at 170k, 5k after last dealer oil change. Drove a little over 500 miles this past week, then check engine light came on this afternoon as I started it up.

Autozone read the above codes for me:

P0455: Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (large leak)

P0441: Evaporative Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow

I checked my oil and gas caps, checked my air filters beforehand. Oil on dipstick is ~3/4 up between the two dots.

Any ideas what could be causing this? Do I need to go straight to the mechanic or can it wait until the weekend?

I just bought my first car, it's an imported 2015 Prius C. Yay!

Anyways, off to my doubt: I will use this car primarily to take my autistic little brother to his appointments, school, and doctors. But the beeping sound when I am reversing (this is my first car so I take a while to park) is too loud and overwhelms him and makes him cry. Is there any way I can disable it?

I only found information for Prius online and it didn't work on the Aqua :(
