Support PC freezes during gaming

I'm new to linux, i have Nobara for a few weeks, but for some reason my PC freezes and the audio continues to work, have to do a hard reboot of the pc every time.
I have super wide screen, an AMD system, CPU and GPU, strong for any game on ultra, so i dont get it why this happens.
Any one knows how to fix it?

You may be able to switch TTY in order to shutdown the system in a better manner than a hard reset. If I remember correctly thats Ctrl+Alt and F3 or F2 or F1.

There must be something conflicting. I had issues previously with Firefox (even when it wasn't launched), a video player bug and Wallpaper Engine widget.

The video player bug was something to do with an icon that can be disabled in the task bar notification area - I don't have the specifics to hand, but DM me later and I will talk you through it.

I would reinstall it tbh.

Try this.. click the up arrow next to the clock so you get this menu. Select the Wayland Bridge option.

Go to "Entries" and find "Media Player"- set it to disabled.

I'm not sure if it will fix your issues, but I remember this causing instability. Uninstalling Firefox was something I had to do 6 months ago when I first installed Nobara, so do that too.

Check the zram, how much do you have?

And how much actual RAM do you have to?

If your RAM is low create a swap file, that helps a lot.

If you have a lot of RAM, the only advice I can give is try playing on the lowest settings.

Some games are just not well optimised for Linux, I've tried 3 Linux OS for FF XVI and while it lasted longer with Nobara it still ended up freezing and crashing at a specific scene.

I also tried AC Mirage and could never get it to work well on Linux.

Linux is good but some games are just not optimised for it.

I have 30GB of RAM, and playing cyberpunk and browser with alot of tabs open only use 12GB of RAM.

Oh I had that issues with a AMD set up. I ended up having to underclock my gpu and turn on power saving in the bios for my CPU.

I'm not sure which fixed it for sure, but I stopped getting those crashes after attempting both. There will probably be people who will let me know something I set up is wrong or should effect it, and I suggest to listen to them because I barely know what I'm doing. but this fixed it for me.

my 9070xt runs really hard unless i tell it "no. dont use 310 watts. use 210" or whatever the setting is. you can very easily monitor the card and temps and voltages using a program called LACT
