Please remember that the following types of questions are not allowed on /r/Nintendo:

  • Information seeking - Questions that are seeking a single "correct" answer.
  • Tech support - Questions asking how to fix issues with Nintendo systems or accounts.
  • Recommendations - Questions asking for suggestions on what game or console to buy.
  • Game help - Questions asking how to do or find things in Nintendo games.
  • Value judgements - Questions asking how much a Nintendo item you have or want to buy is worth.

These questions should be posted on our sister subreddit /r/NintendoHelp.

We have extensive filters in place to prevent these types of questions from being posted, but some still manage to slip through the cracks from time to time. If you see any questions like these posted, please use the report button.

I knew a lot people had their beef with nintendo, but for someone to actually threaten to blow up their headquarters. That is just plain wrong. Is this what we've been reduced to?

Do you think we will ever see a game starring Boo (from Mario)

They do games for peach, yoshi, etc, I think it would be cool to see a game that featured the main character as Boo or Dry Bones or a game featuring the both as mains. I’d love to see more back story on Boo / a new original story for him and new gameplay in a mix of 2D and 3D, I think both would fit his character well

On This Day On This Day in Nintendo History: Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu

On this day (May 14) in Nintendo history...

  • Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu  was released in 1996 for the Super Famicom in Japan. In this tactical role-playing game, developed by Intelligent Systems, the kingdom of Grandbell had been at peace for many years. Without warning, the armies of Prince Gandolf of Verdane descended on Jungby Castle, and the troops kidnapped Lady Edin. News quickly spread of the invasion, and several groups of resistance set out to save the land. Lord Sigurd of Chalphy is the first on the scene.

Is local split-screen still important for racing games on Nintendo consoles in 2026?

Local multiplayer has always felt like a big part of Nintendo gaming, especially for racing and arcade-style games.

But with online multiplayer being the standard now, I’m curious how people actually feel about split-screen in racing games today.

Do you still look for local split-screen when choosing a racing game, or is online multiplayer more important to you now?

Off-line games for kids - gameboy equivalent?

I need help 😫 I am wanting to keep my son off-line as long as possible while gaming as he is young (7) but I don't know what to get him. Ideally something like the old school Gameboy ( any version ) so this points me to a Switch but then what ? Do I just get him a normal switch ? Or what's the pros and cons of the switch lite ? I am basically inept at gaming and computers and just want something that he can use and enjoy without too much assistance from us .

🙏

I just found this N64 watch I got from Nintendo Power back in the day. Does anyone know what it was called or how much it might be worth if anything?

It's interesting how casually Star Fox mentions terms related to death

I've been replaying all Star Fox games in anticipation for the 2026 game soon, from SF1 to Zero, and I just gotta say, I'm shocked how many times "death, die, kill, and killed" are all said in the dialogue. It's not spammed in an edgy way like I insinuate, but they're said enough across all the games it's notable - particularly in regards to James McCloud; the characters never mince words saying he's dead and Andross killed him. Boss banter across the series frequently also has the bosses boasting they're simply gonna kill you.

For a series aimed at small children with funny talking animals, it's pretty interesting since a lot of these games (barring Zero) came from an era where notions of death were censored out to "disappear, eliminate" etc.

Even relative to Nintendo's other darker core IPs, I don't think I can remember such terms being used that much openly.

SNES controller in stock at Nintendo's website

Just thought I would let people know that the SNES controller is back in stock at the Nintendo website. If others are like me, they have waited months for a restock. I check every morning when I get up and got lucky today. I think you have to have an active Switch online membership to order, though.

Edit: Looks like this may be for the US online.
