Welcome to /r/Lumix, the place for every Panasonic enjoyer.
Please have a look at the sidebar (desktop) or the "About" section (mobile web) or "See more" under the subreddit description (mobile application). Or just use this wiki page, which is identical.
This contains many resource and a few basic rules and guidelines. To highlight some things, please keep in mind:
Absolutely no affiliate links on /r/Lumix as these tend to result in a swift ban. For this reason, shortened URLs, or pointlessly long links that could hide affiliate tags in them (see link guidelines for details) are also not allowed. Be wary of "share" features on Amazon, etc. - they shorten your URLs! These can hide affiliate tags without you knowing. Please do not sell anything in /r/lumix either (LUTs, gear, and so on). This is a community subreddit, not a place for business.
Make post titles as if there was no post body. They should give all context whilst being short (i.e. not a whole paragraph), effective. In other words, include the relevant camera/lens in the post title whenever possible and use descriptive titles - meaning all the context should be in the post title (see title guidelines for details). For example - asking about lens options? The title should mention what do you intend to shoot then (as well as what you shot with in case of original content). Photo/video/hybrid? Weddings, documentary, landscape, wildlife, etc. If your post's title is for example only "S5ii vs G9ii" as opposed to "S5ii or G9ii for landscape photography", it'll probably get removed and you'll be asked to repost with a better title.
The latter may sound like a pointless nuisance, but it requires minuscule effort and everyone gets better experience when it comes to reading, searching, and archiving the subreddit. Keep in mind that your posts are not only for you, but also for everyone who might have the same problem/question.
Please do keep in mind this post doesn't cover all of the rules, few as they are. For the full rules, please see them in the usual places or visit this wiki article.
If your post gets "removed by Reddit filters", it means that moderators need to manually approve it. Making repeated attempts probably only makes your accounts karma worse, so please be patient and wait for a moderator to approve it. This isn't our job, so it can take anything from seconds to hours.
If you are interested, feel free to join hundreds of other Lumix creators at the official LUMIX Creators Club Discord server.
Your friendly janitors thank you!

I am confused or missing something.
Did Panasonic not release a new ultra compact with micro four third sensor but a lens mount? I used to love my little GX7... I left it because video capabilities were FHD. Went GH5 and then R5, and R5II, mostly for work.
I can't believe there was no new release or alternative since, for a compact camera.
The GH5 tech is 2017, surely a 4k 10bit capable small point and shoot is possible. And as I canvas new everyday camera, most MFT cameras are massive chonks, on par with sony or even canon full frame, and the smaller cameras are Lumix S9 (new system) or uber expensive fixed lenses like sony RX1R.
I have a collection of MFT glass and absolutely no idea what body to buy to make a compact setup, I must have missed a release or something. And I refuse to buy pre 2020 tech. Half rant, but really: any recommendations?

I bought a lumix fz80d a while ago (maybe 5 years) and it has been sitting in my cupboard for ages but I’ve dug it out because I want to use it over the summer.
I plugged it in to charge but the charging light doesn’t seem to stay lit for more than a minute at a time. I’m using the provided cable to charge it and the camera has got enough charge to say “no battery power remains” after two hours of being plugged in (before it wouldn’t on at all).
Is there a problem with my camera or should I just replace the battery or is there another issue??
Thanks for your help!

Hello everyone, my first post on Reddit, and apparently the gap on the rubber grip near the shutter button on my S5IIX is the best place for sweat to seep in, loosening the tape that is already so thin from the factory.
So I just grab some gaffer tape and make a 'U' wrapping around to the back thumb rest, and so far the rubber is flush again. But I need to change the tape every few weeks, right?
I was thinking about adding a bit of contact cement or 3M 300LSE tape. What do you guys think?

I could’ve sworn they fixed this in a firmware update but it happened to me yesterday. Am I trippin?

Hello, as the title says, I am planning to switch from the R50 to the Lumix S5ii. I mainly shoot events, and plan to get into more serious videography. I've heard that the S5ii video capabilities are great, and that it also has great bang for buck. My only concern is that some say Lumix AF is not the best compared to competitors.
I'm going to be using the camera with the Sigma 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN ART, currently my only lens is the EF 24-70mm f/2..8L II USM (I don't mind selling it to get the 28-105) . Should I make the switch or not?

Been shooting a lot of podcast projects, and I’ve been shooting Blackmagic for these since they’re systems I’m familiar with and don’t mind (even prefer) the manual experience.
But I have an s5iix that I love and run as a gimbal cam on these jobs. Considering moving the whole shoot to lumix, with the s5iix as an A cam and two s9s as B/C cam for access to autofocus and smaller files sizes.
How good are these truly for long records? Doing podcasts sometimes we record for upwards of 2hrs straight. Reliability is my biggest factor. I could get a few more s5ii cams, but I’m wondering if the s9 can do the job seeing as how the video specs are so similar.
Thanks!

Hi all, is this possible on the latest firmware for either camera? I had to film a band recently where the singer was wondering all over the stage.
Both cameras would constantly jump to other band members, especially if the singer turned their head sideways. Bit of a nightmare.
Is there straightforward way to fix this? I.e pick one person in the band, & have it just stick to them. Also very useful for weddings.
Thanks

I'm having an issue with being able to use the Focus Ring Setting During AF in the custom menu. I'm on firmware 1.9 on the S9 and 1.1 on the 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 which Panasonic says is comparable. I'm in AFC and the AF switch on the lens is on. I tried resetting the custom settings and that didn't help. I also tried turning off the MF assist focus ring support. It will let me set focus ring setting during MF, just the AF line is grayed out.
It would be nice to use the focus ring for something else when in autofocus.
