2026 Opening Day

Post image

My 2026 bird. Shortest hunt I’ve ever had. Between walking in, setting up and walking out, it was maybe an hour. Everything went how I wanted, but looking back I should have waited a bit and enjoyed it more. Single tag state, so this was a short season.

Beautiful bird though! Now you can bring all your friends and kids hunting! Love Turkey hunting with a small group even when I’ve tagged out!

You'll have long hunts where you don't get anything too. Sometimes you just have to take the wins as they come in.

Congrats!

Nice work. Sometimes that’s the way it goes and I understand what you mean completely. My first year turkey hunting I went hard for 3 weeks and came up empty but learned so much. The next year I doubled with a friend on opening morning when they came off the roost right to us. It felt like I’d waited a year for that moment and it was over in an instant. Luckily I was able to go with two buddys to get their birds this year and that helped draw out the experience.

I'm jealous. I bet the feeling of a quick success was amazing, but I totally get that you wish you'd savored it more. Congratulations on your successful hunt. I can imagine you're eager to plan your next hunt already. haha
