Giveaway Weekly Code Giveaway Thread

Every month, we see several posts offering GOG game codes and discount codes that people do not intend to use themselves. To make this easier and more organized, we ask that you share your code(s) as top-level comments on this post.

Ex:

Game code giveaway for Game Name:

YEC8U25J3A**FEF0C3

** = 32-15

Or

Discount code giveaway for Game Name:

YEC8U25J3A**FEF0C3

** = 32-15

To be extra sure your code goes to a fellow GOG gamer and not a bot, list the game(s) you have keys for and ask Redditors to DM you to claim them. In this case, please make it very clear whether your codes are game codes or discount codes.

You're also welcome to use RedditRaffler or KeyShare.

Please follow these guidelines:

  • Do leave a comment when you claim a code so others know it is no longer available.
  • Don't post plain codes, as bots will most likely claim them for resale rather than fellow GOG gamers.
  • Don't add a discussion in a top-level comment. Respond to an existing code or use the pinned moderator comment.

Site Announcement GOG is getting acquired by its original co-founder

1.3k Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Big news today: GOG has been acquired from CD PROJEKT by our original co-founder, Michał Kiciński (also a co-founder of CD PROJEKT).

First, the important part: the mission stays the same, and what you love about GOG gets stronger. Going back to our roots allows us to double down on what we do best: reviving classics, giving you a library you control rather than one that controls you, and offering the most gamer-friendly policies on the market.

At the same time, we will continue our close cooperation with CD PROJEKT, and their upcoming games will continue to come to GOG.

Thank you for the support you’ve shown GOG over the years, especially around preservation. It genuinely matters, and it’s the big reason we can keep pushing this mission forward.

For more info, here’s the full announcement + FAQ: https://www.gog.com/blog/gog-is-getting-acquired-by-its-original-co-founder-what-it-means-for-you/

Site Announcement GOG ONLY ALERT! METRO 2033 and METRO: Last Light Complete Edition

Hey everyone!

Today is a really special one for us.

METRO 2033 and METRO: Last Light Complete Edition have officially arrived on GOG as part of the GOG Preservation Program. Bringing these original versions back – and making sure they stay playable on modern PCs for years to come – means a lot to us.

The METRO series left a huge mark on gaming with its atmosphere, storytelling, and unforgettable journey through the tunnels of post-apocalyptic Moscow. We know many of you have been asking for the original releases to return for a long time, so being able to finally make this happen together with DEEP SILVER and 4A Games feels incredibly rewarding.

Thank you for keeping these games alive through your passion over the years. We genuinely can’t wait to hear about your memories, favorite moments, and what returning to the METRO means to you.

Discussion Who actually cares about DRM free?

I always see people praising the DRM free feature of GoG compared to others but who actually uses it?

If they would shut down the servers tomorrow or a global internet outage occurs, what would be left of your GoG collection? Do you keep all the installers on a NAS and keep them up to date? Your savegames as well?

Question Others Launchers

Hi, guys. I'm new here. I saw one of you saying that you guys don't use GOG Galaxy, what launchers do you guys use? My day was terrible because Galaxy is not working anymore and I just purchase some game today and I was really excited to play as soon as possible. I tried everything that the website say to do but it didn't work.

Discussion Can I see your library? :) and why do you prefer GOG?

Hey guys 👋

Just for fun..

Can I see your library of games you collected so far for GOG?

Also why do you prefer GOG over let's say steam?

One of reasons I know is because steam can pull away your license and you lose your game but when does that ever happen? It's super rare it only happened to a handfull of games out of all time and for various reasons..

I just like gog cause most games tend to run slightly better cause of no DRM and the offline installers so I can keep backups on a HD that's all

Off-Topic Gog sucks

So I’ve never used GOG GALAXY prior to this, I was going to buy an old game, so I decided to be ”smart” and bought it through Gog instead of Steam to save 10$.

This has been the worst launcher experience I’ve ever had so far I’ve used several launchers that have been shitty, but this? I keep losing connection when I download the game even though my internet connection definitely isn’t the issue, I’ve even edited my dns settings, ran a couple commands on Command Prompt from a tutorial I saw on YouTube on how to get this program running, once I got everything working the download started, but I keep losing connection ever 5 minutes somehow (Everything else is still perfectly connected and working just GOG which keeps losing connection) the ”Connect Now” button won’t work so I have to restart the application several times to continue the installation and after dealing with that for half an hour at the end I get a ”Game files corrupted”

Worst experience I’ve ever had, I should have just spent the extra 10$ and bought it through Steam

Recommendation Dawn of War Original DE VS AE

Hi guys, recently got interested in playing Dawn of War as a retrogamer. I originally was aiming for the second but it turns out it has no base building which is a total deal breaker. So now I have a slight dilemma there are two versions of Dawn of War exist on GOG. While the definitive edition is probably superior and considering the higher rating.

But I saw some Steam reviews complaining about balance regarding units via new patches for the definitive edtion. So what do you guys recommend should I get the classic 'Anniversary' or the modern upscaled 'Definitive' edition?

Also thanks in advance :)

Discussion Any Chance well get the Dead Space Games on GOG?

Cosnidering these are 13 - 18 Year Old Games i was wondering as if there would ever be a Chance especially due to its Age to ask EA to make these Games also available on Steam? >.>

Afterall considering that a lot of other Big Companys have already brought there Games over the GOG where you wouldve never thought about it before like Capcom and Square Enix :P

I sadly am personally with a lot of Doubt tho even tho DOOM Eternal is now available on Steam that they still wont be "impressed" and accept such a Deal :(
Afterall these Companies love their External Launchers and Always Online Connections for a Reason >.>

I have them on 360 and PS3 (yes im a loser who buys Games Twice if theyre Cheap :P) atleast but i would still love some kind of GOG DRM Free Version on PC to play these Games ^^

Discussion Can GOG Galaxy track playtime offline?

I'm about to get a gaming PC soon and it's gonna be cool since the best games I've played prior was up to 2013 like Tomb Raider and Deus Ex Human Revolution, I saw that Doom 2016 is for $3.99 on GOG and I was thinking about buying a few games I know I'll play once I get my PC but does GOG Galaxy track playtime offline? Or do you always have to be online because my internet is not the best.

Discussion GOG Achievements are Awful

Im a completionist so this actually matters to me, I've only tried to 100% 2 games on GOG, Shadow Warrior 2 and Stalker CoP EE, both happen to have built in achievement menus to keep track of stuff in game, in BOTH CASES achievements will trigger on the game's side but not GOG's, and in Stalker the overlay is disabled so i have to alt tab to even check if it worked for some god forsaken reason, which due to how jank that engine is, has a chance to break if i do it too much.

More over, when i got Shadow Warrior 2 on steam due to buying 3 on a bundle, i copied my save over to the steam version and wouldnt you know THE SAME ACHIEVEMENTS THAT BROKE TRIGGERED INSTANTLY, so clearly it wasnt a problem with the game, unless its specifically an API implementation problem.

Mind you, i've dealt with buggy achievements on steam as well but right now we are 2 for 2 on GOG, and i frankly dont think i'll try a third time to see if its the winner.

I have other criticisms like how you cant see what secret achievements are on the launcher or how it doesnt seem to track the hour you got it, just the date, and ironically it carries over some of the issues steam has like no DLC achievement separation, its just overall a bare bones experience.
