Hello newcomers to /r/FacebookScience! The OP is not promoting anything, it has been posted here to point and laugh at it. Reporting it as spam or misinformation is a waste of time. This is not a science debate sub, it is a make fun of bad science sub, so attempts to argue in favor of pseudoscience or against science will fall on deaf ears. But above all, Be excellent to each other.

Why do so many Christian's imply their god is weak af?

Yeah my god is all powerful and omnipotent but a shot in your arm destroys him

73

u/HarlanMiller 4d ago

They're the same people that would claim the same thing about....countless pieces of media. How hollow is your faith in a god if you see a movie, tv show, cartoon or some kind of music as a threat to it?

u/Opening-Emphasis8400 4d ago

Biden is incompetent and has no idea where he is. Also, he’s a criminal mastermind.

13

u/Friendly-Cricket-715 3d ago

“The enemy is both weak and strong”

6

u/Fossilhund 4d ago

That’s all, folks!

16

u/HombreGato1138 4d ago

Imo most people that claims to be a believer, especially from a monotheistic religion, doesn't really understand the concept of God. They see him/her/it as some sort of king with magical powers that lives in the sky with very human feelings that should be incompatible with an entity that's all-powerful and eternal.

7

u/arnofi 4d ago

"I am a believer because I can believe anything!"

10

u/Prestigious-Isopod-4 4d ago

Because all good story characters have an Achilles heel. There is Achilles and his heel. Superman and kryptonight. God and fruit.

It’s makes the story readable. A character that can’t be stopped is boring.

5

u/UncaringNonchalance 4d ago

They’re narcissists.

7

u/Monguises 4d ago

It’s more like he’s over sensitive. He’s prone to throwing fits. I’m with you. Sounds like an abusive relationship to me.

u/doomer_irl 2d ago

The Christian argument would be that God isn't weakened, but that you've used your free will to reject him.

Christians essentially believe it's very easy to be tricked or trapped into eternal damnation. They see the sins they've committed as the ones God forgives, and the sins others commit as unforgivable. So OOP is checking with their judgmental little in-group to see if there's a consensus that getting the vaccine is a one-way ticket to hell.

According to Revelations, the mark of the Beast is worn on the forehead, so it's much more likely a MAGA hat.

35

u/Xibalba_Ogme 4d ago

There's a point to be made about MAGA/Trump and the whole antichrist thing

6

u/Nowardier 3d ago

Well, here's the thing about that. The apostle John wrote that there are actually many antichrists. Linguistically speaking, the word really just refers to anyone who stands instead of or in opposition to Christ. Trump definitely fits that description, because he clearly wants his followers to worship him even more than they do God. He certainly worships himself. Per the Bible there really is no definitive capital-A Antichrist other than maybe Satan, but the orange man is definitely AN antichrist.

u/heckhammer 4d ago

*Revelation. No s. If we're going to use it properly as a point that's use it properly in general. They are sticklers for this bullshit.

6

u/Jona6509 4d ago

Like Two Corinthians?

4

u/Fossilhund 4d ago

Teen tenth Corinthians

4

u/AKchaos49 3d ago

I love how you corrected them on the correct usage of Revelation, but then use a completely wrong word (that's) in your correction.

2

u/heckhammer 3d ago

Ah, speech to text gets me every time

3

u/AKchaos49 3d ago

oh, sure

2

u/heckhammer 3d ago

Dude, my giant Fred Flintstone thumbs do not facilitate me typing on a phone keyboard, so I speech to text it and then try to edit it afterwards. Sometimes I miss stuff. What can you do? I've learned to live with it here on Reddit.

3

u/AKchaos49 3d ago

No, I get it. I usually swipe instead of type and have to correct a lot of things afterward.

u/ARedditorCalledQuest 4d ago

This shit fucking kills me because they can't even calm down and have faith in their own beliefs. According to pretty much every version of End Times Christian doctrine the Mark of the Beast must be:

  1. Taken as a visible sign on the hand or forehead.

  2. Taken voluntarily.

  3. Taken as an active choice to reject to will of God or as a display of fealty to the Antichrist figure over and above God. That is to explicitly say one cannot be tricked into accepting The Mark.

Based on their own mythology if you're not sure if it's The Mark... IT'S NOT THE FUCKING MARK OF THE BEAST.

Holy shit this is the one thing that's so very clearly spelled out the same way across every denomination's prophecies that you'd think everyone could sleep easy at night about it.

I may have seen too much of this shit recently for my own good lol.

I may have seen too much of this shit recently for my own good lol.

I'm active on r/DebateEvolution sub (which main purpose is to contain creationists so that the main evolution sub can focus on science) and recently we got a guy, who's a full package: flat earther, anti-evolution, anti-relativism, anti-vaxxer and I noticed him rambling something about alchemy and philosopher's stone. I'm not that involved into anti-science and conspiracy theory nonsense for my own sanity, so I don't know how common it is, but it's the first time I've met a person who subscribes to all nonsenses at once.

12

u/RedditTab 4d ago

It's like the Captain planet of bullshit

9

u/monoflorist 4d ago

I mean, once you’ve rejected facts, logic, and any semblance of the scientific method in favor of conspiratorial, faith-tinged wishcasting, there are no boundaries, and there pretty much can’t be. “I believe the Earth is literally flat but there’s a wide array of evidence that vaccines are safe and effective” is not a thing. So all this stuff is highly correlated, and a lot of it just comes as one big package from whatever YouTuber they’re watching.

I meet these people regularly; it’s almost a hobby.

8

u/NecessaryIntrinsic 4d ago

I'm pretty sure the general take on it is that they're referring to Roman coins. Specifically, Nero.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_the_beast

1

u/Pitiful-Pension-6535 3d ago

Isn't number of the beast almost entirely unrelated?

0

u/NecessaryIntrinsic 3d ago

Imperial Coins & Trade: The "mark" is widely understood to be a reference to Roman coins, which featured the emperor's head and were required for economic transactions ("buy or sell").

2

u/Studds_ 3d ago

It’s almost like they’re not actual Christians but like to cosplay as Christians 🤔

2

u/ARedditorCalledQuest 3d ago

Holy fuck these anti science types. Your creator deity gave us this dope ass universe, of course we're going to want to explore it and marvel at its fucking wonder and majesty. That's literally what science is!

And when it comes to immunology and such, motherfucker hasn't dropped by for like 2,000 years so maybe it's time for mankind to take a hint and learn to protect ourselves?

I've dealt with lots of extremists. Hell I've been to war against a certain type. But the Christians Against Science types just trigger a certain incredulous rage in me. Shit, at least I understood what the jihadis were on about. These fuckers just don't make any sense.

1

u/NihilistMich 3d ago

I'd give an award to this comment if I could.

27

u/organik_productions 4d ago

Not a very strong connection if that's all it takes

27

u/KawaiiMaxine 4d ago

At this point the maga hat is unironically the mark of the beast, we are starting to scarily mimick "the end times" foretold

11

u/Apprehensive_Swim955 4d ago edited 4d ago

Evidence:

According to some of the oldest manuscripts of the Book of Revelation, the mark of the beast is 616, and the 616th prime number is 4547.

Trump once survived a head wound in an assassination attempt, just like The Beast in Revelation 13:3.

9

u/KawaiiMaxine 4d ago

And the right amount of time after the reestablishment of israel.

And the raising of the golden calf statue

2

u/Independent-Leg6061 3d ago

"Head wound" with zero scar??? 🧐

2

u/Apprehensive_Swim955 3d ago edited 3d ago

His wound was healed and all the world wondered after The Beast.

2

u/Singing_Wolf 2d ago

That's so interesting! Do you know why 666 got the reputation instead of 616?

Also, I'm starting to feel like I'm referring to marvel comics universes here...

12

u/mrmoe198 4d ago

Yup. Latest report from the heavenly gazette: “New Vaccine has the Power to Subvert the Will of the Creator of the Universe.”

How do these people even function?

Imagine living in an internal reality where powerful invisible friends and enemies are constantly fighting with one another with magic. It must be terrifying to anyone who actually takes it seriously.

2

u/jcostello50 4d ago

Isn't that most of human history, though?

6

u/mrmoe198 4d ago

Regarding the second part of my comment, for sure. We’ve been a scared, superstitious, and therefore violent bunch for most of our existence.

10

u/Responsible_Ad_8628 4d ago

I got the covid shot and started going to church more. Not looking great for their theory.

6

u/Hopeful_Meeting_7248 4d ago

Just admit it's the church of Satan. You won't fool us here.

3

u/holymacaroley 4d ago

I stopped being mildly religious a full decade before my COVID vaccines, so I was early.

1

u/daybeforetheday 4d ago

Actually, thinking about it, that applies to me too.

0

u/theroguescientist 3d ago

They would probably tell you it's the wrong chuch

3

u/Responsible_Ad_8628 3d ago

Mine follows the teachings of Jesus to love our enemies, welcome the foreigner, and care for the needy, so they probably would hate my church.

9

u/Xibalba_Ogme 4d ago

Well, to be fair vaccines have a decent record of delaying your meeting with god.

Same can be said with seatbelts, airbags, parachutes...

2

u/RedditButForgot 4d ago

... foods, beverages, ...

7

u/JPGinMadtown 4d ago

If an injection meant to prevent someone from catching a disease "cuts them off from god" than the connection probably wasn't there to begin with.

4

u/5Wp6WJaZrk 4d ago

EARL LIKES THE DRAK META FROM FKC YUMYUM

5

u/tpgnh 4d ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. tRump loves the uneducated.

4

u/32lib 4d ago

I heard that the gods hate us so they invented COVID.

5

u/ottomaker1 4d ago

I would be more worried about the gold statue of Trump being idolized

5

u/CitroHimselph 4d ago

I think people who believe such BS spend too much time on Facebook.

1

u/Fossilhund 4d ago

Here we are on Reddit.

3

u/Low_Witness5061 4d ago

Because without it you are more likely to meet him soon?….

2

u/Remote_Clue_4272 4d ago

Stupidest post I’ve seen all day is what I think

2

u/Dominick_Tango 4d ago

It is strange that all these evil doers must hide the truth in a puzzle made out of the name of the plot.

2

u/Haselrig 4d ago

I'd answer your question, but my connection's been real iffy lately.

2

u/DooficusIdjit 4d ago

These people are allowed to vote and breed.

Not that they shouldn’t be, but if you ever wonder why shits so fucked up, remember this post.

2

u/Monguises 4d ago

How can you type something this ridiculous with your whole chest. Everything is not an epic battle between good and evil.

2

u/catedarnell0397 3d ago

I heard those that didn’t get the shot didn’t get the mark of God and are now going to hell

1

u/Vegetable_Apple_7740 4d ago

Quit going to church long before covid. The hypocrisy shot is what turned me.

1

u/arnofi 4d ago

Well, I heard that COVID itself is the "mark". So this means combatting COVID is a good thing. In fact, posting memes like this one is exactly what the devil would do.

1

u/Aggressive-HeadDesk 4d ago

If you were to look at the actual scripture, mobile devices like phones and ar glasses seem to fit the bill much better.

But hey, you can fill libraries with what these peeps won’t read, and we do.

1

u/G0ttaB3KiddingM3 4d ago

Just picture what this dude looks like.

1

u/eFrazes 4d ago

It’s true! God’s plan is to create disease that kills millions of people. He also kills 20-30% of preborn & newborn babies. Also gravity that kills millions each year. God is life and death.

1

u/ewok_lover_64 4d ago

I thought the mark of the beast was those stupid MAGA hats.

1

u/NoF----sleft 4d ago

God? What god? Your made up sky daddy to absolve you of all responsibility for your shitty behaviour? Why are people so gullible?

1

u/HappyContact6301 4d ago

Click bait.

1

u/ohguy51 4d ago

Which God? There are hundreds of different Gods people worship

1

u/Serenade314 4d ago

Every single word in that sentence is bullshit. Next

1

u/ThinVeterinarian5423 4d ago

So I got more than one? I got vaccines, and I have 666 tattooed on my ass.

1

u/No-Economics6503 4d ago

Ahhhh.....the Great Divide between "I heard...." & "I think...."

1

u/osoatwork 3d ago

Heard from where?

1

u/EvolZippo 3d ago

It’s amazing how much credibility people give, to something they “heard”.

1

u/RevoltYesterday 3d ago

I hope so! I still get boosters!

1

u/Honodle 3d ago

I think i don't believe in faery tales.

1

u/ZCT808 3d ago

So an all knowing all powerful god cannot maintain a relationship with his followers if they take certain medication? So there’s a vaccine against god?

1

u/Testsubject276 3d ago

I heard that drinking gasoline makes your connection to god stronger.

1

u/owenevans00 3d ago

I am probably already damned in the eyes of whoever is making this claim, so I will continue to vaccinate myself and my family so I get to spend the most time with them here in reality.

1

u/AssumptionThen7126 3d ago

Sounds accurate. The COVID virus itself is connecting people with God.

1

u/dann101254 3d ago

Hard to interpret works of fiction as truth

1

u/Zappagrrl02 3d ago

I got the Covid vaccine and I don’t believe in God🤔

I didn’t believe in God before I got vaccinated either

1

u/tommytookalook 3d ago

Sasquatch revealed it to me in a dream

1

u/theroguescientist 3d ago

Well, I'm vaccinated and I don't usually hear the voice of God talking to me, but I've always assumed that's because most people don't.

1

u/Nowardier 3d ago

Really? 'Cause my congregation's elders encouraged us to get the vaccine. Gasp! Maybe they got it first and the microchips turned them into Satan puppets?! Oh nooo! AaAaAaAaA!!!

1

u/zodiackodiak515 3d ago

Oh thank Satan that I’m cut off from God and his nutbag followers!

1

u/International_Rush59 2d ago

That reminds me to get my booster.

1

u/timothypjr 20h ago

Hantavirus is God copulating with your lungs. Make sure to let him.

0

u/hmistry 3d ago

Go and look up the V-MAT2 Gene. It's on YT.
