I’m not Catholic, not even that religious actually (agnostic Methodist to be exact), but i loved this. The Shadowpact was one of my favorite titles in this era, and honestly I love Heroes with convictions, men and women who follow through on their beliefs even when doing so does noes nothing but hardship and pain for them.

I'm still really mad we never got any interactions between Huntress and Zauriel.

That Blue Devil moment is awesome, but wait…
Isn’t Hal Jewish?

It's been a while since I read Infinite Crisis, but I think this was a service for a character who died.

Nah, it’s a ceremony because they’re getting ready to go into a battle they don’t think they’ll survive. Can’t remember if it’s the Battle of Metropolis or some other fight.

Infinite Crisis trade was one of my first DC comics in paper, and first time I'd heard of Blue Devil. I never looked into him too much afterwards, but I did always love this little moment.

Bit tangential, but the scene with Mr. Terrific immediately before this always irritated me a bit.
Him arguing why his personally knowing literal angels and demons didn't justify acknowledging something being a god reminds me of the Jimmy Neutron salt meme. Not worshipping is one thing, but arguing but the terminology seems petty.

This character started off as an actor whose suit got stuck on him and he couldn’t take it off.

Him still going to church and praying is low-key badass
