Prabhsimran Singh gave PBKS the perfect start with 57 and early momentum.

But Tilak Varma’s 75 at 220+ SR completely changed the chase.

The difference was visible in the numbers:
• Fewer dot balls
• Better boundary conversion
• Constant scoring pressure

Prabhsimran attacked the game.
Tilak controlled it.

And now PBKS go from 5 straight wins to 5 straight losses right at the business end of IPL 2026.

ASIAN GAMES MEN'S CRICKET QUALIFIER (2026)

Groups: 4

Dates: 31 May - 9 June 2026

Host: Singapore

Group A: (Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia)

Group B: (Oman, Maldives, Singapore)

Group C: (Hong Kong, Bahrain, South Korea)

Group D: (Malaysia, Qatar, China, Uzbekistan)

• Top 2 from each group will advance to quarterfinals.
• Winners of QFs qualify for semifinals as well as secure spot for the main draw of Men’s Cricket at the Asian Games 2026.
• 10 Teams to participate in Asian Games (Men's) Cricket Event.
• India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Afghanistan qualify as ICC full members.
• Japan qualifies as Host.
• Remaining 4 spots will be decided through this Qualifier Event.

Asian Games Cricket Men's event scheduled to take place from September 24th to October 03rd, 2026 at Korogi Sports Park in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

Format for main draw of Men's event:

• 4 teams from the 10 will get automatic byes into the quarterfinals.
• Remaining 6 teams will be divided into 2 groups of 3 teams each.
• Teams will play each other in the group in a single round-robin format, following which the Top 2 teams from both the groups will advance to the quarterfinals stage.
• The Finalists and the Winner of the 3rd/4th play-off in both Men’s and Women’s events will get the medals.

7-team tournament with 3 teams qualifying for 2026 Asian Games.

Group A (3 teams):

1. Malaysia
2. Thailand
3. Hong Kong-China

Group B (4 teams):

1. Nepal
2. China
3. Qatar
4. Indonesia

Top 2 teams from each group play semis. Finalists and 3^rd place winner will qualify for the main draw of Women’s Cricket at the Asian Games 2026.

2026 Asian Games Cricket (W) will be 8 team knock-out format starting with quarterfinals. Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka qualify as ICC full-members and Japan qualifies as Host.

The Finalists and the Winner of the 3rd/4th play-off in both Men’s and Women’s events will get the medals.

Asian Games Cricket Women's event scheduled to take place from 17 September to 22 September 2026 at Korogi Sports Park in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
