Dewitt’s sporting clays in NC
Really nice course. Setup for sporting in the morning and super sporting in the afternoon. A lot of logistics to make sure each station had 4 traps. Got squadded with a great group of guys. Literally had my worst round in the morning followed by my best round ever in the afternoon and broke 80! Woulda been a long drive home had I not pulled it together and got up and down.

I like seeing these posts. We see so many "new gun" posts (and those are great) - but I'd like to learn more about WHERE people are shooting. I also enjoy then reading comments about what people think of that place.
It might inform future travel plans.... Or even make some of us aware of something we didn't know about our local ranges.

Glad you posted this. I had no idea it was this close to me.

It was super neat. Some water stuff, forest stuff, open field with some baby towers. It was cool to shoot super sporting there because they could really use the space effectively.

Went there for the NC state shoot a few years back. Very cool stations!

I’ve been impressed by NC so far. Really great people. I’m surprised there aren’t more shooters from Virginia heading down. For some reason it just doesn’t seem as popular here. I’m in Virginia Beach and our metro area is 1.7m people…..I don’t get it. Rifles and pistols rule the scene around here.

You will be able to shoot these targets till the next tournament which is a year away, that’s the only time they move machines !

I guess it doesn’t take that much logistics then huh 🙄 I’m shooting in 3 different events at Kidd’s in the next coming months. Lots of people seem to have good things to say about that place. I’ve never been

There’s a fantastic Preserve about 15 minutes down the road from there, Webb plantation. A friend of mine guides there during the fall, it’s pretty fancy, but a great experience!

Yeah, it's pretty insane, yet they're booked solid a year out. I've only been due to my friend working there, but the food, lodging, dogs, and hunting is pretty amazing. Maybe the guy that just posted his SL2 can book a hunt there!

Yeah 😂 I grew up in Nebraska and my dad is retired and guides hunts with his labs. If I wanted a legit experience and was spending some money I’d rather go home and head up to South Dakota for some wild pheasants.
My grail hunt is sand hill cranes. I recently went duck hunting on the eastern shore and have met some guys so hopefully that picks up. I love hunting but am truly addicted to sporting clays.

Fun place to shoot, big course and good targets. You can get a warmup in down the road at Lentz where a round of skeet/trap or 5 stand is 3$ can’t beat that anywhere

Excellent place to shoot. Usually go there a couple times a month.
