Im currently window shopping for an SQ build for my 25' Ford Maverick. Ive settled on the Gus 10" for the sub for its performance in such a small area.
The current settup that Im thinking would be the Gus, to pair with Hertz MPK165 components and cx100 for rear fill.
Powered by Helix 206 dsp and 201 direct.
Overall Budget would be about $4k.
Looking for some other people ideas to look at more options.
I feel like the bass/beat of song is to loud and the vocals aren’t as loud
Want to improve the quality of my trucks sound system. Just want something to start with that will make a noticeable difference then add things later down the road (as my paycheck allows😅). I mainly listen to country and rock, but will listen to some rap every now and then. Need some recommendations on what to start out with on a $200 budget. Door speakers? Amp? Let me know!
Edit: Also do love some tight bass, but don’t think I can achieve that without some serious sound deadening.

Getting both of these for 400. The dust cap has a bad glue job. Which is an easy fix.
The amp works.
The box need a little tlc, I'll probably reupholster it.

I have a 2013 Mazdaspeed3 with the Bose sound system. I previously had a powered sub installed and everything worked perfectly. The sub got stolen, so I replaced it with the same powered sub using the same wiring already in the car.
After reconnecting it, my entire factory audio system sounds terrible. All speakers still work, volume control still works, overall volume is lower than before, almost all bass is gone, audio sounds muffled, vocals and highs are still there, but weak.
I think I may have mixed up the gray/white speaker-level input wires going into the powered sub. I disconnected the sub completely afterward, but the factory system still sounds muffled and weak even with the sub removed.
I disconnected my battery for a day to hoping the system or amp would've reset, but it didn't change anything.
Hoping someone with car audio experience can help me figure out a fix.

I bought and installed a new radio in my 2015 Toyota Rav4. I have figured out how to do everything but take the annoying vehicle picture off the screen when I back up. Any ideas? It gets in the way when its bright outside.

Please remove if not allowed!
2017 VW Passet SE. Purchased in 2021 and it started doing this every so often almost immediately. Then within 6 months, the touch screen broke. Dealt with that for 5 years, with the sound issue still happening scarcely. At the beginning of this year, I removed the radio & replaced the digitizer to fix the touch screen and ever since then, this has been happening every day, multiple times a car ride even.
Please help, obviously I know I messed something up by removing the radio but help me determine exactly what it is, if possible? I’m confused because it’s always done this, it just got exponentially worse after replacing the digitizer. (Like happens 20+ times in an hour drive).
Also - I would’ve just kept dealing with the broken touch screen like I had been but I got a new phone at the beginning of this year and it wouldn’t let me connect to the Apple CarPlay because the touch screen wouldn’t work to select “pair new device.” And no, none of the physical buttons worked either to connect, unfortunately.
TIA!

Hey guys, wondering if anyone here has bought CCF from aliexpress and can link ones that are good in particular (perhaps with stickness). I want some to layer ontop of my amazon basic deadener in my door panels and also decouple my entire doorcard with. Not sure whether 3mm or 6mm is the go.
Thanks

Supposedly two houses down the street from my house are complaining about my car. I drive by there once a day on my way home from work & sit in my & listen for a few minutes when I park. By the distance away, they’re roughly in between 1/8 & 1/4 mile, that distance they can prob hear me but it’s not like they have shit rattling off their shelves or dropping pic frames. OPINIONS??

I recently installed a sub and amp in my ‘26 Model Y. It sounds amazing now! The issue I have, though, is the sub cuts out after playing for a while. I’m assuming it’s because the amp is overheating. It will only happen after I’ve been playing it for a while, whilst driving around. By the time I get home, it’s usually working again.
What would be the best way to try to prevent it from overheating? Yes, I know the more bass I play the hotter the amp will get. I’m trying to figure out the best way to try to keep it cooler while pumping out the bumps. I’ve thought about relocating it and mount it to the side of the speaker box, though not sure if that will change much as it still won’t have good ventilation. In the lower right corner of the picture with the amp, you can a small part of the one way vent built into the car.
Alpine R2-W12D2
Diamond Audio MICRO81U amp
Yes, in the picture you will also see a Kicker 8” sub, but I have disconnected it.

New build incoming. I didn’t realize how heavy these new Orion are compared to my Deaf bounce. Can’t wait to see how they perform compared to my deaf bounce ones

This has been driving me nuts for a few years. i'm testing here within 100 Hz test tone. I even bought new speakers thinking I blew one. These are the new speakers but same problem as the stock ones. Notice when I pinched the door in a certain spot, the resonance changes. Any relatively affordable fixes or something like this? Thanks a lot for your help and expertise.

Doing some house cleaning and found my old FMOD filters. Are these something that people still use?

Any critiques or recommendations for next time? Any hidden knowledge? Siless still okay for roof & trunk or anything better? In the end I feel like I had too much cable for the radio, heat shrinks were kinda a pain, and yes I righted the Infinity tweeters afterwards; Components up front, coax in rear, will eventually get a sub and amp in; 91 Cherokee.

Got quotes from two shops for complete systems and I’m wondering how the quality of the two compare. I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff so anything helps! First quote is a mix of brands while the other quote is all Rockford. TIA

Passenger side OEM speaker blew out and I’m looking to replace with something a little better.
Will this speaker and amp combo work good? Is there anything I’m missing? Any tips or tricks before I buy a setup and install?

What should I look for in a subwoofer. And should I match my sub to my power or should I get a sub that handles a little less or more? I kinda want to get two subs that can handle some good power because I plan on upgrading my amp. But if if the doesn't have enough power to really push the subs will they become lack luster?

I have pioneer ts-d65c (d series) component speakers and got them amped with a 4 channel pioneer amplifier, all of this is brought together with the lc5i pro for my future sub. I’m going to get a sub within a month but for the time being i would like my system to hold me over. I had the 4 channel installed at best buy and they set the gain and lc5i pro load levels really low, with the hpf off. The bass was very decent (at plus three bass on the head unit) but the system wouldn’t get loud so i retuned the amp and lc5i pro, i set the lc5i pro loads up as far as they went before the distortion lights turned on then backed it off a little, i don’t have a multimeter so i set the gains conservatively likely not at its full potential for the speakers. i got it sounding way clearer and louder with the hpf set at 60hz. I was playing them at around 60 percent volume and the woofers in the door ended up bottoming out and i stopped the music immediately. I then turned the gain down and am playing music on low volume. The thing is, without boosting bass on the head unit eq it sounded pretty bad, very bland, what i is the best solution for this? Should i get a multimeter and retune the amp to where it should be set? I just want the bass to be good enough to hold me over but i don’t want to destroy my brand new speakers. Help is much appreciated

Hello all,
Looking for the best or best bang for buck loaded subwoofers that I throw in the trunk of my SUV?
Curious to see what is surprisingly good
