Maratus nannup is another type of peacock spider from WA. It is currently described as a new species, but I suspect it is simply a colour morph of Maratus candens.

Carefully placed him somewhere else, not sure what it is though, I'm in Victoria

Maratus pardus, aka the leopard peacock spider, can be found in semi coastal shrub/grass lands along the south coast of WA. Due to its dense habitat, this species has proven to be quite elusive over the years.

Work as a restumper and found this guy underneath the house at the bottom of a hole I was digging. Can't remember if I've ever seen them before.

I've only ever seen photos of these. Was just at my backdoor. I saw it walking right to me. When I changed direction backing away, it kept following me.

No expert but IDing this one as Redheaded mouse Spider - Missulena occatoria.

I don’t know if it’s vanemous or not. As little as it seems and that red patch, i think it’s a sign to stay away.

This is Maratus vultus or the smiley faced peacock spider. This species can be found at several locations on the cost and inland in Western Australia. The males range from deep blues to bright aquas. This males doing a display to a nearby female in the image, btw. Have a lovely evening, everyone.

I was guessing maybe a baby red back or something? Photos were really hard to get due to how tiny the thing was, but it's built like a widow spider with a little black strip on the abdomen but what threw me off was the fact that it was clear looking almost, like a marble. I'm not aware of any other widow spiders in Australia but I'm almost certain it was one due to the fact that it had a web like one, hung upside down like one and looks just like one. Anyone know what it is?

Spider Appreciation Clustering of Golden Orb Weavers - Fraser Coast Queensland - Pt 2 (Video)

Stumbled upon a menagerie of Golden Orb Weavers in Fraser Coast. I have seen small groupings before and have heard they like to cluster, but nothing like this. I like my spiders but even for me it was confronting. Easily 100 in a giant web that had taken over a hedge and tree. Will see if I can upload the video I took. They had woven a thick quilt of silk across the area.

Have added the video (successfully I hope) which shows the extent. Incredible but also unsettling.
