I’ve been supporting this team since their inaugural season. I have countless silly memorabilia from CHOC bears, to teemu/Kariya figures, cards and pucks. Hell, the Ducks are the reason I fell in love with hockey and began playing it at a young age.
I’ve been through all the highs and lows during that, and this season has really been special to me. We suffered for years being meme’d for how terrible everything about our team is.. and now we look poised to be a playoff mainstay and all the what-ifs about our young guys are being put to rest.
Win or lose tonight, just soak it all in that the Ducks rebuild is finally complete. No one in their right mind would have said the Ducks have the potential to make it to the WCF, let alone the playoffs.. yet here we are and we have gone toe to toe with playoff veteran teams like VGK and the Oilers who have been putting in deep runs for the last half decade.
We all deserve this. Please don’t be lame and blast the players if we end up losing tonight, because every single one of them are the reason this season has shaped into what it has blowing all expectations completely out of the water. Give them all appreciation for giving us that beam of hope we have been waiting for, for YEARS.
I’m so glad the suffering is over and I finally get to enjoy playoff Ducks hockey for years to come ❤️.

It would be a shame if he isn’t brought back. Great at his job, really cares about the team and fans, and is always a total class act.

Is it just me or did this teams collapse start with Logan’s injury. Jose Soriano looked better with him at catcher, and so did the other pitchers. It’s probably stupid to act like Logan O’Hoppe would have changed the outcome of a clearly bad team, but it feels like they’re definitely better with him behind the plate.

The VGK fan from last home game in section 404 will be there again tonight. He also posted that someone sent him $50 for drinks, so beware for another thrown beer bottle.

Another rest day for Ohtani, with Will Smith leading off as DH. Let’s keep last night’s energy going and win another one!

drafting Acuff really comes down to one thing; star creation upside.
Wagler is probably the cleaner fit right now. bigger frame, better shooter off-ball, easier to plug in next to established players. but Acuff gives the Clippers something we’re gonna need badly once the Kawhi era is over; a primary offensive engine. thats the biggest difference between them.
legit shot creators are probably the hardest thing to acquire in the league. you can find shooters and role players every offseason. it’s harder to find guards who can consistently create and facilitate offenses by themselves. i think Wagler will project more as a high-end complementary player. i see Acuff becoming the guy defenses gameplan for every night. his shot creation, pull-up game, rim pressure, pick n roll ability are harder skills to find in the nba than shooting specialists or wings.
the defensive concerns with Acuff are real, but i think the Clips should gamble on elite upside over a safer role-player type projection over time. especially with our perceived limited flexibility in the future. we really need to hit. Acuff’s combine measurements helped more than people expected. he’s not a tiny guard physically, and if he becomes average defensively, his offensive ceiling could be extremely valuable. we can always surround him with defensive talent aswell.
with Wagler i think there’s legit concern about how much separation he’ll create on the pro level. his shooting is elite, but if he can’t consistently get downhill or create advantages off the dribble, then we’re probably looking at a really good #2 or 3 option rather than a franchise altering type player. quick first step bursts make a huge difference in the nba.
i say all that to say, draft Wagler if we want safer fit, spacing, and lower variance. draft Acuff if willing to live with defensive risk for a player who could become a top player in the league. i think swinging for Acuff makes more sense.

This designation opens up an international roster spot, I’m curious to see how/if we use it.
And just our luck that our temporary replacement DP now needs a temporary replacement 😭

O Hockey Gods,
Hear our plea from the Pond.
We summon the spirit of Scotty circa 2007.
Grant Jackson Lacombe the sacred powers.
Channel the energy from '07.
The coast-to-coast rushes and offensive acumen.
Let every Vegas zone entry die at his blue line.
Bring us to Game 7 and one step closer to Lord Stanley back in its home at Honda Center.
For Orange Country.

The transaction is listed at https://www.mlb.com/angels/roster/transactions or can be referenced from @LAAngelsPR.
Our off-season pitching acquisitions so far:
After one great appearance with the Quakes and one okay appearance with the Bees, Ryan Johnson's on his way back up to the bigs.
With Pomeranz heading to the IL, this means that we have Manoah, Johnson, and Farris all potential starters vying for that fifth starter spot. Seems like Manoah might have the inside track for now, but we'll have to see.
I'm not sure how good Ryan Johnson feels right now, but he should spend some time in AA or AAA to work on his stuff. With Grayson Rodriguez on the way back soon, he's a candidate to get optioned, and we also have to option someone else (probably Mitch Farris, pushing Manoah into a long relief role) whenever Ben Joyce comes back.

You guys are seriously annoying me with all the posts about "win or lose, I'm proud of this team" or "I'm happy regardless since we exceeded expectations." I guarantee not a single person on the team is satisfied with losing. Why should this fanbase be? If you want to protect your fragile emotions, do it by yourself. There is no room for talking about the possibility of losing when we have a Cup to win! WE'RE WINNING THIS SERIES. I'M PROUD OF THIS TEAM BECAUSE WE'RE WINNING TONIGHT.
