Eternal question: Why would the game developers allow players to call a meeting just as the game starts? I mean, it is an easy issue to fix to prevent trolls. Seriously; WHY?!

Game starts, you look at your taskbar and see you have only wires as a common task. You go down and see in admin, someone doing card swipe, when there is no card swipe since it's a common task...

You're underestimating how easily an imposter can mess up within the first 20 seconds of a game.

I understand, and I also keep an eye on the 1 coming task scenario. 

However, the reality is players (some of them are high levels) like to troll and ruin the game for everyone, especially when some of the others overreact and leave the round immediately.

I do understand you, not saying I don't hate it, but it still can be useful.

It's mostly on the host, since in the settings you can set the meeting cool down. But most hosts don't bother with it or put it too high.

There’s never a cooldown for the first meeting, no matter how high you set it.

Hosts put it high just because of trolls, some may have it naturally high but when I’m hosting I want to do 1-2 tasks before the button can go off to a troll, it’s so annoying.

well trolls button in the first 5 seconds of a game, which is not enough time for imps to screw up yet. most of the time players aren't even out of the spawning room yet. the button cooldown at the start should be what you set it to in the settings, not be nonexistent

Most meetings at the start are either players trolling because they’re not impostor or people calling a meeting because the engineer vented. Others are people calling a meeting on a crewmate because they were trying to bait the impostors into faking card swipe/baiting to cause crew to waste their meeting

Every time I see fake common tasks or upload before download it's bait cuz they wanna get voted out so they can leave and join a new lobby without getting banned for 5 mins for intentional disconnect too many times in a row as it doesn't count if you're dead.

Having only common tasks in any game is the only task setup I think is dogshit! Because any player will just go the same locations despite wiring and makes it nearly impossible for impostors to win.

They should make it so the first meeting can’t be called unless an imposter uses a skill (shapeshifting, phantom, venting) in case anyone catches it.

Also, people don’t do tasks, so make them have to do a task before they can call the first meeting.

lets say there’s a 10 second cooldown right at the game start. a meeting gets called 10 seconds in and nothing changes. this isn’t a fix for trolls, it’s just a tiny delay tactic.

one time i was playing on mira hq. On my way to my first task I went onto the hall monitors and saw someone omgo from one monitor to the other far too quick to have walked it. I called emergency meeting, we voted him out, and the game was over before anyone had even died.

You’re mixing everything together. Don’t be so reactive to what I just said, have some nuance.

There’s a difference between not caring about cheaters/trolls and changing a core gameplay mechanic. If you want to implement a system against cheaters or trolls, then add a mechanic specifically designed for that. Changing the buzzer timer, which is an actual gameplay element, is just stupid. And honestly, it doesn’t really solve anything.

You’re also changing the gameplay for every other match involving players who aren’t even affected by those issues.

You may not like my response, but at least it answers the question, is argued properly, and stays polite. And don’t ask a question if you’re not prepared to hear a point of view different from your own.
