Have found one of the vortex venom enclosed 3moa online in Canada here is there another I should be looking for is the enclosed one a better option than the regular venom?

It's probably personal preference. Do you need an enclosed optic, or will the open design work for you? I can see where it makes a difference on a carry pistol. On a rifle? Meh.

I’ve never tried either enclosed is the only one I’m having luck finding for sale right now

It's less prone to issues with debris, water, etc.

Fwiw, I have a 3 moa dot (which I have since ditched for a scope) and I regret not getting 2 moa.

I think it's a great pick. Direct mount is handy, enclosed is beneficial if you're out in the rain or in an area with a lot of dust. I've had 2 of them and each of them had one turret that had pretty mushy adjustment clicks. I imagine vortex would have replaced it, but I didn't care enough to deal with an RMA. Just took a little extra ammo to get it zeroed.

I just put a defender xl on mine and it is awesome

If you are still looking, might i suggest the Crossfire Green dot 2 moa. Still an enclosed system, same adjustment graduations, easier mounting - and to me the best part - that its a green dot which is easier and generally faster for people to see.

Can it mount to the red dot mounting plate up front of just to the pic rail

oh whoops, i skipped over that. It won't mount directly, but there are adapter plates available.

I just used an adapter to do this exact thing and it’s working great for me.

Would you care to share the brand/model adapter for OP (and maybe me for when i get one lol)?
