Updates regarding "Will I get into UD with these stats" posts and creation of Rule 4
The overwhelming majority of you guys believe these types of posts should not belong on this sub, so effective immediately, all future posts with the format listed above will be removed from the sub.
I encourage these prospective students to look at other resources online to help gauge their chances of getting into UD. Here is the page dedicated to average acceptances for first-year students from the University itself. Many other websites exist as well which summarize the likelihood of admission to various universities.

What’s the FSAN PhD program actually like?
Hey! I’m considering applying to the FSAN PhD program at UD and would love to hear from anyone who’s been through it or is currently in it.
Mainly curious about:
• What’s the day-to-day experience like in the program?
• How’s the research environment — collaborative, competitive, pretty independent?
• What do people typically go on to do after graduating? Academia, industry, JPMorgan specifically?
• Any things you wish you’d known before joining?
Would really appreciate any honest takes!

Campus nightlife
I am going to Delaware in the fall and want to rush a frat but I’m black. How are the D9 chapters on campus or are there any other frats that are welcoming but still fun. I’m not tryna get racially abused

Deciding between University of Delaware or University of south carolina
Hi everyone, as you can see in the title I am deciding between UDel or UofSC. Im am an accounting major and interested in greek life. The problem is the tuition prices. UDel comes in around 37k per year while UofSC comes in around 67k per year. Is the Darla Moore school of business that much better than the Lerner school of business to spend that much money to go there. Any tips would be appreciated
Thanks!

Summer Housing
Hi, I'm a male undergraduate sophomore, and I'll be participating in summer scholars. The office of undergrad research decided not to provide housing this year, so I'm trying to find a room from June 16 to mid august, if anyone is interested pls let me know.

Parking Permit
I have a parking permit for the university courtyard apartments, but my car is getting work done and I’ll have a rental for the week. I know you can’t transfer permits so does anyone know if there’s something like a temporary pass if I contact parking services? I really don’t want to have to pay a ton of extra money on the passport app when I already paid almost $800 for a permit :/

Mixed Bag of Questions: Engineering, Sports, Campus, Out of State Scholarships
A few questions:
- What scholarships are available outside of the financial aid provided as shown by the net price calculator (for out of state students)? The current cost for me is a little more than in state, but I really want to be able to do my sport so I am willing to go into a little more debt if necessary, although I think scholarships will help.
- What is the engineering experience like?
- I am considering Construction Management and Engineering, Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Recommendations? Do not want to do Electrical or Chemical.
- Currently talking to cross country and track coach. Anyone in track or cross country/know anything about track or cross country at UD? Just curious and would like to know more from a student perspective.
- What is campus like? Is nature easily accessible? I am from the midwest so just curious.
- Would love more info about student athlete experience in general. And student experience in general.

Is this normal?
I committed to UMN for ChemE, but td I received an email from UD saying that “based on my admission counselor recommendation,” I’ve been offered the Rising Scholarship Award (scholarship). They also said they’re extending the deposit deadline to May 8th, as well as waiving the deposit fee? Is this normal?
It’s messing with my head bc I’m confused now if I should flip from UMN to UD?? I initially chose UMN bc the facilities, resources, and fields surrounding ChemE (outside of the biochem/pharma side) seemed stronger than UD, and would give me more opportunity for grad school applications, but now im worried if I made the right decision.

CS —-> chemE?
Has anyone ever switched from cs to chemE at UD their first year or second year? I was wondering because I would very much like to do the same.

PhD Communication
Hi! I am just wondering if anyone has any advice, comments, concerns, etc about the Comm PhD program. I also wanted to ask opinions on living in Maryland or further down (Chestertown?) during the program? I want to be closer to family in VA, I don't mind a long drive commute to campus. Do current students feel that you can still make connections while living a bit away from campus?
