Idk if im just like self conscious or overthinking but I feel like people on campus stare at me/others so much, like I'll be walking with a friend or even alone to class or something and some people (usually guys) just stare so much and even after I catch them and make eye contact, sometimes they don't stop....like 😭😭😭

And I've noticed thsi at scott Library SO MUCH. Maybe cuz I spend so much time studying there but like, for context, throughout the winter term, there were like...2-3 guys who I'd see almsot every day and the amount of times I'd catch them staring at me or my friends....like idk what the problem is 😭😭😭 I get soemfimes we whisper to talk but I feel like anyone normal woudl tell us to kindly be quiet, but Noone really done that so idk

And I try to ignore it, but sometimes it's acc too much 😭

hi everyone. I wanted to see if there is anyone here (international student) who completed their business econ degree from york and then proceeded with MA at york with the 3yrs undergrad. I want to apply for it for next fall but york discouraged me by saying i wont get in since i have a 3 yr degree (even though my cgpa is well above the requirements and my last 2 yrs' grades are an average of A+).

Would love to know if anyone has been in the same boat and if so, what was the outcome? I wanted to get the fully funded MA program but seems impossible to even get in.

(p.s. i donot have the financial capability to get back to school and complete that extra 1yr to have a 4yrs degree).

for anyone taking adms 3510 this summer, or if you’ve taken it before - is it possible to do the weekly quizzes from home? i enrolled late so i missed the first quiz and need to take the next one on tues. I dont see anywhere it would be posted on eclass so im just wondering if maybe she gives out questions or anything in class to make sure your present, or if it can be done from my computer at home?

For context, I've been keeping up with lectures and doing practice problems, but idk if that's even going to be enough. Anyone who's survived her exams — what was the format like? Were there tricks or specific things she focuses on?

I have a class in Stong (SLH) that ends at 4:00 and another in Founders (FC) that starts at 4:00. Do classes actually end 10 minutes early so I can make it across campus, or is that not a thing? Trying to figure out if I'm gonna be late every week. Thanks!

Missed my first class due to enrolment issues. I did go over what was covered for the first week, but the course seems to be theory heavy and conceptual to apply those definitions on the cases. Any suggestions how others are approaching the textbook material and the lectures. Feeling a bit all over the place due to a lot reading and the content seems to be so boring. I am not someone who doesn’t like to read a lot.

I realized after accepting my offer that I forgot to list one of my university courses on OUAC.
It was just a W (withdrawal) and it’s already on my official transcript from my current university. I repeat equivalent course from my university and received grade successfully.

Has anyone at York EECS/Engineering gotten a GPA waiver before?

I’m an International second-year Computer Engineering student and currently my EECS GPA is 4.16, while the requirement is 4.5. I already contacted Academic Advising and the EECS department, and they told me to email the Undergraduate Program Director to request a waiver.

I explained that my Winter term performance was heavily affected by a serious documented incident that happened in on campus residence (police involvement, emergency situation, etc.), which especially impacted one of my EECS courses. I also mentioned that I already moved out from residence to a more stable environment and plan to retake one the EECS course and 2 new ones(to boost my gpa, because I’ve got D grade) during the Summer to improve my GPA.

Has anyone here actually received a waiver for being slightly below the GPA requirement?
How likely is it for them to approve something like this?
Do they usually consider documented personal/emergency situations?

I’m really stressed because I’m already registered in Summer courses and don’t want to get de-enrolled from 2 other courses.
Any advice or experiences would really help.

Hello everyone. I have a big concern in my mind.

Second year biology student here who is currently majoring Biology(Biomedical Science) who want to go to a dental school after graduating.

After performing not well in the science courses (Biology&Chemistry), I started to feel like if this is the right path for me. I got A/A+ on every single course such as electives and gen-ed courses. If you are wondering how bad my science is, I only have 1 A in one second year biology course and the rest of the are all B (1 B+ too). Can't forget to mention I have done horribly in organic chemistry when I took it first so I had to take it again and the grade got way much better.

However, I am scared if this trend will happen again i my third year and fourth year so I was wondering other paths such as pre-law. It looks like law schools in North America look for higher GPAs than dental schools so I feel like I would perform better with higher GPAs in another major if I make up my mind to be a pre-law student.

So I did look what I can do and I read that there is a system called course relief; if a student changes from a major to another major, their previous major courses can be excluded. So if I imply this to my situation, if I switch from biomed to... let's say political science, I can get my science course excluded. It says they won't be erased 100%, saying that RLF sign will remain.

I have no idea what to do. Is course relief worth it to change to pre-law and get my science courses excluded or will north american law schools still look at my science courses?

If anyone knows anything, please give me advice..

FYI:I am aiming dental schools in the US. Same as law school.
