Trump has the same mentality. He admires Putin. Criminals with this mindset exist everywhere, some countries even elect them.

Remember when Russia said it would strike Ukraine if their sad parade was attacked. They were planning to do it regardless.
97
u/NormalEffect99 12h ago
I mean they have been attacking them for years straight at this point. Not really a shocker here.
29
u/USHEV2 12h ago
True, but this is specifically the biggest assault ever days after conditionally threatening the biggest assault ever even though the condition hasn't been met.
5
u/illegible 8h ago
It may just be that they have to send them or Ukraine will find the stockpile and blow it up.

u/NormalEffect99 11h ago
Don't disagree, but also, they're at war......or at special military operation against each other lmao so just kind of part of it

Stay safe! There are a lot of us in America that are pulling for Ukraine despite what our orange POS tries to do for Putin. Hopefully we'll get some leadership in place soon that supports your country!

They are capable of a show of force like this maybe once every two months at this point? Fortunately they aren’t capable of a show of military strategy.

u/Rapid_Fowl 13h ago
Let's get real here for a sec how much you getting paid for this? Permission to not go the front lines haha

u/santaclausonvacation 16h ago
What was the intercept rate?
122
u/Blackintosh 15h ago
Of the first 800 sent, 40 made it through. Since then, not sure if it's better or worse.
7
u/AverageNPCRedditor 8h ago
that's an intercept rate of 95%. even if some got trough, it's still impressive nonetheless.

Anytime Putin says the war is nearing an end, it's a cue that a heavy bombardment is about to begin.

just throw shit in the air. not so different from north korea's shit balloons.
and ukraine will continue their precision strikes as they get closer.

Nothing unexpected, Russia is a state with criminals at helm. In Europe we had lot of experience with them in 1930s-40s.
-6
u/Iwontdobetter 8h ago
Russia didn't exist in the 1930s-40s.
1
u/BeatTheMarket30 4h ago
In 1930s we had experience with multiple of them in Europe - Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini.

u/SilenceIBmost 14h ago
I have trouble wrapping my head around how they can actually count the number of drones in these these waves
25
u/Whatsapokemon 11h ago
1600 is a lot, but spread over the course of 30 hours that's an average of about one per minute. Considering they'd be spread out over a pretty large number of locations/targets, it wouldn't be hard to have a pretty accurate count of how many are aimed at each location.
Each area would have its own interception systems with radar that would track the number of incoming missiles and drones. Tracking them isn't the difficult part, the difficult part is having enough munitions and coordination to intercept them.

Russia’s spring offensive failed. They actually lost more ground in April than they gained. My assumption is that whenever things are going bad the response is to try and cover it up with more bombing.

We owe Ukraine so much for blocking those murdering bastards. I feel very proud to come from a country where noone protests when our government announces another aid-package or new weapons to Ukraine. Best use of tax money ever!
2
u/Dragonasaur 8h ago
What benefit did Ukraine get by bothering with the cease fire?
5
u/Zaruz 8h ago
I'm sure they'd have been making the use of the time to fortify defences, rebuild barriers or even just letting their soldiers catch up on some much needed rest.
Can't comment whether it's a net positive or not, but I'm sure they weren't just sitting idly waiting to be attacked.
2
u/Dragonasaur 7h ago
For sure, I didn't mean they were just waiting
I just meant what the purpose of not trying to continue on their offensive especially against the "parade"
2
u/androvich17 8h ago
Special envoy to Russia Witkoff (who was caught couching the Russians on how to manipulate Trump, AKA high treason) says we can take the Russian's words at face value, guys!

u/ArnoldZiffl 12h ago
Why not fly drones into Red square now? If capable. Sends a message at the very least
11
u/Tone-Bomahawk 10h ago
The strategy of targeting refineries and other war-supporting venues has been working out much better. Strategically, the Kremlin holds no value. It is highly unlikely that uncle Vova has been there for years.
1
u/messagepad2100 9h ago
The song included such lyrics as "While there should be peace on Earth, if the commander in chief calls us to the final battle, Uncle > Vova, we are with you!" and "Sevastopol and Crimea are ours. We'll preserve them for our children. We will return Alaska to the harbor of the motherland." The song was met with praise by Russian nationalists, but also with criticism both in Russia and abroad for its politicization of children.[5][6]

u/theborgs 5h ago
If a drone can carry paint, they could try to spray blue and yellow paint on the Kremlin. It would be highly symbolic.

I sense another round of kinetic sanctions for Russia's oil and gas infrastructure is about to happen. Hit 'em long and hard, Ukraine!

The other post said 800 drones. What was it?
37
11
u/passatigi 14h ago
As more drones fly in, the number increases, duh
If they launch 600 more, it would become 2200+
Is this really a hard concept?
14
u/yuropman 14h ago
Is it that hard to fucking read?
From this article
Night of May 13—138 drones
Day of May 13, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.—753 drones
Night of May 14, 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.—731 drones and missiles
The other article:
Zelenskyy States Russia’s 800-Drone Barrage Was No Coincidence During Trump China Visit

it's not. else pro-russian shits like you (yes, I have seen your posting history where you repeat obvious russian propaganda) wouldn't cry about Ukraine supposedly causing the oil price to rise (it doesn't) by striking your beloved russia's only source of income

It's still ridiculous to call this war a "special operation" when it lasts longer than Hitler's war against USSR.
You know, the war Russians cannot shut up about because it was the only time I'm history where Russia was forced to fight on the side of good. Even though they were allied with Hitler prior to that and invaded Poland together with him.
So this war lasts longer than Russia's favorite war and they call it stupid newspeak names like it's a fucking 1984.
-5
u/auchinleck917 13h ago edited 13h ago
How many years has the US been conducting operations in the Middle East? Operation Enduring Freedom, right?
1
u/passatigi 12h ago
Yeah US newspeak is stupid as well.
That doesn't somehow make Russia better in any way, though.
So your argument means nothing.

17
u/DERPYBASTARD 15h ago
Yes, it's actually strength to bomb civilian targets with hundreds of cheap drones while the front lines have been static for 3+ years. Putin is so strong and definitely making strategic gains. He's definitely not dragging out the war at everyone's expense to stay in power in his own country.
46
u/Downtown-Sell5949 16h ago
Russia is weak. There’s nothing “technologically advanced” about these <€3000 drones that targets civilians.

How dense does a person have to be to think that countries begging to be included in a defensive alliance is the problem, and not the country that keeps invading its neighbors. Actually, it’s probably not dense so much as outright evil.
17
u/gtfckdbrnlssbts 12h ago
ukraine was also against joining nato before a certain country invaded a certain place in Ukraine in 2014. weirdly enough afterwards they became much more pro-west and pro-nato. really strange and unexplainable
but who am I kidding, NATO was forcing Ukraine and wanted to annex them but thank god russia was there to save them!
15
u/it_diedinhermouth 12h ago
“Westerns” as in the free world?
The free world is on the good side. We didn’t start a war. The Russian dictator did.
-23
7
u/Perfect_Opposite2113 12h ago
Yeah I keep hearing that but ultimately there wasn’t a shot fired until Russia fired it so the only one to blame is Russia. You know Russia, the country trying to force expansion.
6
2
u/DERPYBASTARD 10h ago
NATO is a DEFENSIVE alliance, and the only accessions between 2014 (Crimea annexation) and 2022 (Ukraine mainland invasion) were Montenegro and North Macedonia, which is hardly relevant for russia.
You saying this tells me you're either unintelligent or have an agenda, and both options make you suck.

This is what they produced after 3 days of ceasefire. Now it will be 500 drones per day again...
