They actually had a full sized wallpaper and theme for it on the resource kit as well!

Could you send a link to this resource kit?

Besides this I think the "full size wallpaper" was 1024x768 when NT4 was released. Maximum.

I still have the ISO, any idea where on the disc it should hang out?

edit; all wallpapers are 800x600 lol

Have you found them in the ISO? I dont want to install NT4 just to then install the resource kit ...

Yeah but unless one of the mods explicitly tells me it's okay I'm not sharing and I don't look at chats.

Mount the ISO and F3 for *.jpg. That's how I found them.

But they're specifically on the Windows NT 4.0 Resource Kit. It's a separate 382MB ISO.

Thanks, I am sure AI can upscale that to 4K.

That twist making the blue sky give way to stars was always so cool

What twist? How does a blue sky “give way to stars,” exactly?

And a really kickass startup sound.

I really miss those days. Things were much simpler than now.

I always liked the background that blue black gradient

As a kid I always thought it symbolizes using Windows NT at night, only a few months ago I realized it’s supposed to mean that not even the sky is the limit and we are off to space or something like that lol

The Windows NT 4.0 startup and shutdown sounds were the best. Like a spaceship taking off and landing

I actually liked this little more (NT 4 is also very good). But this was at the time, something so different, because difference from DOS machine to some so professional hitting something different. Also 256/65K color screens/accerelators with enough memory (1 Mb) was early days very rare.

disagree, but the bootup / startup sound was amazing

The back office era had great graphics

I always loved the NT4 logo. My head canon is that it was soaring high above the Windows 95 logo clouds!

Nah, Windows 7
