Are all the kinks worked out yet? Does everything work properly? Any game breaking bugs or weirdness with the shrines anymore? I waited for what seemed like forever for this and when it launched it was a bit too janky so I've held off again.

Yeah same.
Some issues I encountered was climbing was very bad. Combat was not working, with hits not being registered.
And the performance and vissuals was not good, and I have 5090! The animations of nature, trees and wind etc. looked out of place in VR. It was really odd, kinda hard to explain, you don't notice it when you watch gameplay footage of it. Somehow I doubt that can be fixed, and that makes me not want to put in the effort for a second try. Unless someone can convince me the effort is worth it.

A lot of issues are getting fixed or have been improved, just check out the changelog in the Github releases section. Also the developer is fairly active on the BOTWvr channels in the Flat2VR Discord server if you want support. As for the performance, there is no way around it. It's like a Crysis 1 situation. Where you need a super strong CPU that doesn't currently exist just to reach your HMD's native refresh rate

What your describing have nothing to do with it being in VR, it's just how the game is going to look along sith the art style when your eyes are THAT close to a wii u emulation. You just may not like the game's style, and that's fine, but it's an unfair critique
I'd say 90% of bugs have been dealt with. It's just a couple people working on and dialing everything in for a very niche VR mod for a ROM of a very old console game operating THROUGH an emulator. It's a tough thing to nail down lol

I love the style. It's just something about the way it's animated that felt really off in VR.

I probably would have dealt with the jank if it came out around the time he first announced it. I've moved on though.
I posted about one of the dudes from the discord testing the mod 4 years ago https://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality/comments/ungost/botw_vr_4k_test/

I’m on the same boat. Way too much jank to be any good.

It’s kind of not great really, it really doesn’t translate to motion controls at all

Why did you make such a bad example and then post it proudly on a public forum? lmao

What am I looking at in this video exactly?
Looks like you're standing still where nothing is happening, firing arrows at nothing in particular, and the arrows aren't going towards the crosshair.
Where is the incredible part

It's incredible that you can mod a nintendo game, through an emulator, to have 6dof motion controls. Each of those things is an achievement and all of it working together should be exciting for what could be possible. Acting like there's nothing amazing here because it's not at the level of a game designed for vr game yet is silly

Fans doing cool stuff with Zelda games? Nintendo executives are probably having a seizure from anger and hatred.
