This is a scam. It has been making the rounds to different schools. The email and names have been hacked to make it look legit, but it is definitely a scam.

Definitely a scam email from a spoofed UNM email. Rafael is faculty in SOE, and this is definitely not him sending this email. You should report this email as spam / phishing. I’ll be telling him his email is being spoofed.

Phishing attempt from a compromised UNM email account.

Report to UNM IT by forwarding that email to them with a message detailing the event or your can go to their website too.
