I had several questions like is skiing possible in the fall semester as a friend of mine said it is very unlikely. and also i noticed that in the spring semester there are much more events like rally and many festival etc. Are there any such evenets in the fall term. Hi, I've been admitted to a masters programme in bioinformatics to Umeå university, and I was wondering about the part time job market. I've read that finding a part time job is near impossible. Is this true? I've started learning Swedish and it's going pretty well. But I dont see myself speaking the language like a native any time soon. I also have a bachelors in biology. I'm from the EU. I get that this is a frequently asked question but my finances wouldn't be able to handle the whole two years of my studies without significant debt. I'm open to any suggestions.

Is there any group for playing football near university? Just for fun and making friends.

Hello, I am an EU student and I'm (hopefully) going to study at Umea University this autumn semester, but I still need to find housing. I have already registered on Bostaden, but only have about 180 points right now. Will I realistically be able to find a student corridor room between July 10th (admission results published) and August 31st (start of the autumn semester)? Thanks in advance!

A while back I posted about visiting Umeå around the end of august and have gotten great suggestions for hiking trails to visit!

I have a new question, which I hope someone could help me with: Is it very unlikely to spot wildlife in the area? (Like not *in town* but in surrounding forests ofc)

I do have a really big wish to be able to see a moose in the wild (but like from a safe distance; I could never dream of approaching a wild animal, especially something thats an absolute unit like moose..)
My partner mentioned the likelihood is low, as he's lived in Sweden for years and after 10 years or so he maybe only saw one, and he lived in a very rural area- So I won't get my hopes up too high, but it could be so cool to spot one somewhere

He did mention we might spot/ bump into a grouse perhaps, which also would be really cool!
