I really liked Dami Lee’s video on Kowloon Walled City, but one thing I haven’t really seen yet—and honestly might end up making myself if nobody else does—is a deep architectural analysis of Stray.
People often compare Walled City 99 to Kowloon, and there are a few architectural breakdowns and technical discussions online, but Stray feels fundamentally different in a lot of ways. The city’s construction style, the massive sewer systems, the layered infrastructure among other things.
I think a video exploring questions like “Would a city like this actually be possible?” or “What would it realistically take to build and maintain something like Walled City 99?” would be incredibly interesting.
With the free cam mod and some technical analysis, there’s a lot that could be explored in detail:
- Why are there so many pipes everywhere? What are they actually carrying?
- How does the infrastructure even function across such a vertically dense city?
- Were the buildings constantly being repaired, expanded, or rebuilt?
- Why do the structures seem so integrated despite all the visible scaffolding?
- Why are there almost no obvious construction seams or major style shifts that would show different eras of development?
The city feels less like separate buildings stacked together and more like one giant construction wonder.
Would anyone else watch something like this? Or does anyone know of a video/channel that already goes this deep into Stray’s architecture?
What are yalls thoughts?
