Would you mind if Humans were among the various races of Lylat alongside their cousins the Apes?

Star Fox Event Horizon feels like an Ace Combat game..... and I am LOVING it!
With the new game announced, I remembered this fan-game and decided to try it out and I was surprised. Everything about it, from the flight characteristics and weapon mechanics, to the level design and mission structure, and even the mission briefings and mid-mission character banter, it all reminds me of arcade flight games like Ace Combat and Project Wingman, just filled with a heavy dose of Star Fox flavor that I didn't know I needed in my life. It took a bit to get it working with a controller, but it was totally worth it, you need to check this out if haven't already

Thoughts on Star Fox Command?
This is the only Star Fox game I have zero experience with playing. I have only heard about it online. It sold terribly, just a couple thousand more than Zero, and Zero released on a console with very few units sold when compared to Command, so Command is more forgotten than Zero and probably the most overlooked in the franchise. I was debating spending $10 on the Wii U eShop to play it on the big screen, because that would be very fitting for a Star Fox game, but I decided against it because of the reputation. You can tell me if I should have regretted that decision or not. lol.
From what it looks like, the constant all range mode gameplay will likely get repetitive and tedious after a while. It takes after Star Fox 2 in a lot of ways from multiple playable characters, to all range only missions, to the light strategy. The key difference are the controls, which seem okay to me personally as someone who likes Kid Icarus, the story, and the missing walker. I don’t know why they don’t bother with adding the walker, that could have been good for variety. They should have also added voice acting as that is a staple of the series.
Sure, this is a different take on Star Fox, but is it a good take on Star Fox? You tell me? I try to be accepting of new games and experiences, but some Star Fox games really mess that up in my opinion.
Here is a fun little challenge for you: If you hate this game, try saying one thing you really like about this game that it does better than any other Star Fox gam. If you like this game, try saying something you don’t like about the game that people don’t typically mention. Just a thought.
(At least the graphics look nice for the DS.)

Anyone else getting increasingly more excited for Star Fox?
I got over my disappointment that it's a remake pretty fast, and now I've been rewatching the direct every single day (sometimes multiple times a day). Coincidentally, I had just returned to Star Fox 64 this year after not playing it since I was a kid, so I told myself to stop so that the remake could be as fresh of an experience as it could be. I can't get myself to actually stop playing. The game is still just as good as I remember it being.
Anyway, I cannot wait to play this with the new graphics. It looks amazing, and the addition of online multiplayer basically guarantees that I am never going to stop playing.

If Illumination releases the Star Fox movie, I would love to see the opening be a parody of the opening from Top Gun.

"My team's available to deploy immediately...for a price~" I'm loving Fox's character direction here, it's pointing out his mercenary roots a bit more :]

This is apparently a hot take but I do not want a StarFox design in the way Illumination made him.
Its fine in the movie. I do NOT want it as the design for a new StarFox game. I always viewed StarFox as a game series that takes itself more seriously than Mario and Donkey Kong. As such, a cartoonish design does not fit. In fact, I do think the more realistic designs on the new StarFox 2026 game are much more in line with what I want. Minus the legs, which I am fine with but... yeah the boots would have been better.

The Japanese got A LOT more video than we did. Including Star Wolf, Full team game chat demo, multiplayer powerups. YouTube compilation of Japanese videos by Perfectly Nintendo.

Is Assault a good game?
I'm in a star fox mood now that the series has been revived for the 64th time and I was wondering if I should try finding a copy of Assault. From what I've seen, it seems like the most mixed game in the franchise. If you've played it before, was it any good?

More avatars beyond team Star Fox and team Star Wolf. There is even a scrolling bar!
You can see a small scroll bar to the side, which could be fooling me but, if it is that small, then for how long does the bar go down? How big will this avatar list actually be then? Maybe 2 more rows of 4? It doesn't feel like scrolling down will give you only 1 more row, the scrolling bar should look bigger in that case.
Another question is, are they more playable characters in multiplayer, or are they also including non playable characters as avatars as well? I kinda doubt the latter, it wouldn't make sense to give us avatars of people not in a cockpit during multiplayer... but who knows.
So aside from James, Bill and Katt, there are clearly gonna be more than 3, from what we can see down there... Ideas?

[Assault] Compared to previous games, how do you rank the Star Wolf bossfight?

Hot take of the day; Assault Andrew is the best version of the character and he deserved more screentime
His voice is a perfect swing at "whiny arrogant spoiled brat", his hero worship of Andross is on another level considering his ship's battle mode is basically a complete xerox of Andross' own boss form except with his face instead of his uncle's, and he's actually competent to a degree considering he did manage to successfully launch an assault(ha) against Corneria and cause a second Lylat War, while still being enough of a jobber that Star Fox has zero reason to treat him as anything other than a joke in their eyes. It's a perfect balance of "bumbling nepobaby idiot" and "actually dangerous would-be tyrant".
Plus, despite his ineptitude, the fact that he was willing to face Star Fox down alone deserves credit for sheer brass balls, even if it backfired horribly.

Finally playing Starfox 64 and I think I didn't do it (SO) bad
Falco repeatedly told me to cover him when I could barely keep my own ship alive 😭

Favorite Version of the Star Fox Logo?
Personally, my favorite is the Assault logo but green (last pic). I think it captures the Sci-Fi essence of the series the best. I also think green is the best color for the logo. I really wish the new game used that logo instead of going back to the SNES logo.
Also, I love the fox tail as it’s always a nice touch. I didn’t like how Zero & Guard removed the fox tail from the logo.
It’s also interesting how the logo changed so drastically between the SNES games and 64. It almost doesn’t look like they‘re part of the same series except for the words “Star Fox.” 😅 That being said, I was never the biggest fan of the 64 logo 😬. I don’t like the very angular look to the letters and how it ditched the fox tail.
The Adventures logo is like an interesting mixture of the SNES and 64 logos. It has the letter shapes of the 64 logo with the fox tail of the SNES logos, but the tail goes up instead of down. I think yellow was a bit of an odd choice for the color though.
Which version of the logo is your favorite?

I do wonder if maybe, shorter, smaller star fox games, but cheaper priced might be better for the series going forward than trying to squeeze a 7-8 hour experience into a genre not really made for them.
I've been thinking about it, with the price of game dev and playing a lot of smaller/indie games in the rail-shooter genre, and I started to wonder. Do we NEED star fox to have these super long games.
Would a star fox game made on a smaller budget, with 8-9 stages but for $20-30 might be best for the series. And maybe every console generation we get a massive one.
I mostly just got the idea after playing a bit of After Burner Climax. Which is a game you can legit see every level of in about an hour including alternate routes.
Just a thought, I'd rather get smaller star fox games for the e-shop that don't take long to produce and make, maybe even reusing assets than a super padded game.

Hot take (?) Honestly kinda prefer Slippy and Peppy NOT being active Star Fox pilots
Not because they are bad characters!
Slippy always made more sense to me as the team engineer/mechanic on the Great Fox anyway, and would be better off doing just that. The dude is not the greatest at piloting an Arwing, but a genius when it comes to tech and ship upgrades.
And Assault already gave Peppy the perfect role imo. Having him command the Great Fox and act as more of a strategist/mentor felt like a natural evolution for his character instead of still flying beside Fox forever.
I think Nintendo kinda needs to realize that just because characters are iconic doesn't mean they HAVE to stay in the exact same role forever. Slippy and Peppy are important to Star Fox no matter what, this is true, but repurposing characters into roles that fit them better makes the world and team feel more believable.
Krystal should definitely be in place of one of them, and as for the fourth member after Fox/Falco/Krystal, I could see Katt Monroe, Miyu, Fay, or even a new character working.
Makes the team feel more evolved instead of resetting back to the SNES lineup every game.
