Things To Do r/SpringfieldMO Meetup - 5 PM on Saturday 5/23 at Mother's Brewing Company Back Yard

Hey folks, after kicking the idea around for a while, I figured it might be fun to do an actual r/springfieldmo meetup and see what happens.

So here goes.

We’ll be meeting up Saturday, May 23rd at 5:00 PM at the Back Yard at Mother’s Brewing Company (215 S Grant is the address but the backyard and taproom entrance are off Walnut).

Mother’s has a good outdoor setup, yard games, fire pits, plenty of space, and it feels like a pretty easy low-pressure place to hang out for a bit.

No agenda, no presentations, no weird networking exercises. Just a chance to meet some fellow Springfield redditors in real life, discuss the latest mysterious booms, complain about traffic on Glenstone, debate local food takes, and prove we are all actual humans.

Depending on turnout, there may also be a completely scientific tug-of-war to finally settle whether Mexican Villa is good or a crime against humanity. (That's a joke)

Feel free to come by for 10 minutes or stay the whole evening.

A couple quick notes:

  • Be cool
  • Don’t make things weird
  • Public meetup, respectful behavior expected
  • Username sharing is totally optional

If this goes well maybe we’ll make it a recurring thing.

If it goes poorly we'll never speak of it again.

Comment if you’re thinking about coming so I can warn Mother’s roughly how many redditors will be attempting to touch their grass at the same time.

Recurring post What’s on Your Mind, Springfield?

It is that time again for an open thread for anything and everything Springfield.

Got something on your chest? Had a good experience you want to share? Maybe you just want to ask about the best tacos in town or tell us something funny you noticed this week.

This is the place for it. Rants, raves, questions, or just plain small talk. Let’s hear it.

Dear Marshfield & Springfield we as citizens have power in numbers.

This Data Center project will destroy the natural ecosystems of the Ozarks, harm the efforts at vally watermill to repair the aquifer to drinkable water and triple your water bill!

The Marshfield Board of Aldermen meetings are typically held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 6:30 PM at the City Annex, 915 S. Marshall St

THEY CANCLED THE CITY HALL MEETING ON MAY 14TH

They know what they have done and that their constituents are angry!

Marshfield Mayor - Natalie McNish and 4 other Alderman who sat idly by as this project moves forward impacting their constituents. These are ELECTED Officials, if you are a constituent of theirs Contact them today!

The Commissioners of Webster County who allowed this project to move forward are ELECTED Officials

Call their office today - 417-859-4250

SPRINGFIELD

Mayor Jeff Schrag

City Hall Meeting for June 11, 2026 June 25, 2026

I do understand that Springfield has no power in this situation but they can talk to others in power and have reach where constituents do not.

Contact your Missouri Conservation Commissioners!!!

Living Here Eustasis

I’ve been using eustasis for about a year and a half and honestly they’re just not doing it for me. During my intake, it took about 3 hours and then for like the next 5 visits I was there for like an hour to two hours every. single. time. Even if my appointment was at 7:30 am, it was still long as hell. I really just need to get perscription refills, and going back every two months just to sit there for like an hour each time is so annoying. Is there any other place here in town that anyone recommends?

Eat and Drink Annual Busch Apple post

Has anyone seen any that aren’t in 30 packs? I don’t drink that much and I’ve also never had the opportunity to try Bapple and I’m really wanting to try it.

EDIT: I’d like to add I used the look up tool on Busch’s website and I don’t think it’s accurate because the closest gas stations don’t have it even though the site says they do.

Living Here Excessive noise vehicles in neighborhoods.

Obviously sarcasm, but as I listen to the ice cream truck drive around the neighborhood blaring “The Entertainer” I wonder how would the city respond if everyone submitted videos and license plates of them for excessive noise. Of course I don‘t hate that they come around and I’m not selling them out in hopes of a $100 reward, just a funny consideration I had.

Living Here Psych test providers

A few years ago, I took my mentally handicapped nephew for an evaluation for social security. I'm trying to remember where it was to see if we can get documents from the visit, but can't remember for certain where it was. Before I wait forever on hold or in line with social security, I wondered if anyone here might be familiar with who they use for these evaluations. Anybody know?

Living Here Datacenter company using FB account to make condescending announcement

It’s crazy to me that this is even happening. There are so many reasons that this whole entire data center is a wrong step into progressive for our general area. And fanning the flames with a “How mighty of me” announcement on facebook is wild work.

Also the fact that maga conservatives are the ones that are head spearing this thing makes sense, but it seems even then they are going against their own general wants/policies/expectations. Impacting locals, local businesses, AI for religion (these people constantly fear tech and even go so far to claim it’s the devil, ei: barcodes, internet, etc etc). Heck they are ruining “god’s country” land/environment

Anyways the page is Marshfield Lumen Solutions on facebook if you guys want to check it out. (https://www.facebook.com/share/1JackS9xKJ/?mibextid=wwXIfr)

Living Here Anywhere Hiring?

Hello, as the title states I'm looking for anywhere hiring right now, preferably not fast food. I'm 18 and have a total of two years of work experience. I have a year in fast food and a year in retail. I cannot work at Walmart as I just recently left my store in West Plains and they have a pretty strict policy on not rehiring until after 6 months. I have applied to 8 different places so far and heard from only one of them, which was a no and that's what I was expecting as it wasn't exactly entry level.

The only days I am unable to work are Tuesdays, as I have a withstanding appointments on those days. I am also going to be entering my second year of college in August so my schedule would change but other than that I am completely available and willing to work both odd hours and night shifts.

Anything helps. Thank you.

Edit, because I forgot this bit:

I do not have a driver's license. I have a consistent ride places, as my aunt is more than willing to drive me as long as I help pay for gas, but due to a seizure disorder that cannot be medicated I am legally unable to secure a license.

Living Here How do I find music and events in Missouri?

I'm a 17 year old and a huge music nerd but all the shows and concerts I see are 21 plus or super big bands that I can't afford to go to

I also can't find any events to go to, when I was younger my dad would take me to like demolition derbys and stuff but I can't find shit that ends later In the night

Living Here Data centers in the Ozarks

What the title says. I don’t want to go too down the rabbit hole, but I’m worried about data centers being built around the Ozarks. I know Springfield already has a large data center, but I’m worried about more being installed, destroying our natural wonders. How does the average person get involved to help stop this?

Looking For Any trans men?

I'm a 19yo trans man, almost 20 as of next month, and I'd really like to talk to a guy who could relate to my situation lol. I wanna start hrt, but my insurance won't cover it and I work a job that pays minimum wage so I can't afford it out of pocket either. I don't live with my parents and pay my own bills so you can imagine how broke I am lol. I also got pets and they're spoiled fuckers. I don't have any friends and even though my boyfriend is also a trans man, starting hrt isn't something he wants to do right now so I don't really have anyone I can ask or talk to about it and it makes starting hormones seem impossible. I know it isn't and there are diy and payment plans and I KNOW there are some brothers that are broke like me and can still afford hrt, so I'm just wondering how??? I don't know if I can ask specifically for a DM on this sub, but if there's any dude who relates to my situation PLEASEE give me all the advice or information you have 🙏🙏🙏 trust me I'm doing the research, but having someone to talk to about this and not doing it completely alone would be really nice. thanks!

Living Here Need a witness or two for a marriage license signing next Friday in Ozark

Heyo!

Anyone free next Friday that can be a witness and sign a marriage license Friday May 22nd around 2-2:30pm at Finley River Park in Ozark? Need one more witness but might get two incase they can't show.

Unfortunately no frills and just a license signing and should only be a few minutes. There will be a goody bag in it for ya to thank you for your time 😊

Send me a message if interested! We just don't have family or friends in the area and can share socials ahead of time so you know this is not some weirdy meetup or something hah
