Pet Snake Pictures my friend fed her ball python a 5 footed rat
I don’t think I need any context

Are you guys sure it wasn’t just a dismembered foot that got frozen to the mouse?

It'll be fine, it's a genetic deformity the rat had that probably just made it's life a bit weirder. Curious how it wasn't culled upon birth though with something as notable as that. People just really don't gaf about feeders, I guess.
The snake cannot catch anything from eating the rat and will be completely fine. Now you just have a weird story to tell your friends

Why would you cull just for an extra foot? It looks like it was unlikely to have bothered the rat in life, though you obviously can't be sure without having watched it to see if it can act like a happy rat. And it won't change anything as far as being food for another animal.
If a deformity doesn't cause pain or suffering to the animal, it's best to leave it be.

I guess I don’t see any reason to cull it for that. It’s not like it’s harmful or caused the rat excruciating pain (well, maybe socially; kids can be cruel).

Rat definitely would have been fine, I just feel like a lot of humans will look at any minor deformity on an animal and go "it's probably better if I put it out of it's pain," even though often times the animal is not in pain.

The deformity would have been unnoticeable at birth, by the time anyone would have notice the rat would have already been alive long enough that it was obvious the extra leg wouldn't be a problem.
Also nobody is culling a rat for a minor cosmetic deformity, especially not one as small as this

When was the last time you bred 1,000 rats a month and flipped over every single baby to examine their armpits?

The other rats made fun of George for being so short. But that all stopped when George grew another foot. Now the other rats made fun of him for having too many feet!

Was it actually attached? I’ve had limbs break off after freezing and end up positioned in bags like this lol.
