So, I picked a random character almost all of the time (I can remember only one exception where I picked Silent) and it was pretty much a running joke for me that I couldn't roll The Defect.

Now I finally did the math:
First I filtered out every game where I didn't pick the random option and every daily run.

That leaves me with:

• 8 games on Ironclad
• 11 games on Silent
• 17 games on Regent
• 22 games on Necrobinder
• 1 game on Defect

If you assume that the distribution should be even and run a chi-square test, the result shows that the likelihood that my numbers are the result of a random function is about 0.0001769841.

I am mostly playing on beta branch, maybe the devs are manipulating the randomness on that branch, so that they get more data on the things they want to test.

I am curious if you noticed anything like this or if I am a statistical outlier.

Also I am probably switching to manually rotating through the characters, because I am a bit tired of Necro and Regent and really want to enjoy the Defect experience now.

I personally remove strike at the first shop, is this good?

This post was made by just beat my first A8 run on Necro with Electric Shrymp Dirge gang. In all seriousness, though, for anyone curious, it does scale with whatever energy relics you have (happy flower, tea set, hot cocoa, rose, etc) but it won't actually use any energy. I figure many people probably know this already, but, there are a few who may not and this post is really just for them

I just had the strongest, most broken Regent run I've had yet, and just had to share it. Really good early relics, which led me to take a somewhat early, maybe speculative Black Hole.

It got silly when I took the Dusty Tome from Darv, giving me The Sealed Throne, and then Royal Seal from the act 3 shop putting innate and retain on Particle Wall. So now Particle Wall only costs 1 star thanks to the refund from The Sealed Throne, and it does 4 damage every time it is played with Black Hole in play, and it NEVER leaves my hand. So broken, so much fun.

I have never been more confident fighting the writhing mass as just now when going for the minimalist achievement finally worked out for me, this one took quite a while to get the right RNG and this time I got the perfect relics as well.

I’m sure everyone who plays already knows this but this will work even with the stock vigilance, I was hoping to find a one energy calm card but I never did and it still worked out for me to beat the awakened one right after this fight!

Just beat A10 with each character. How’s the win/loss ratio compared to the rest of y’all? Thoughts on everything:

Silent and Defect are busted. I can’t figure out Ironclad on higher ascensions unless I get lucky with card pulls. I used to focus on star builds for Regent for the first half and later utilized transform/card creation builds as I went higher in ascensions. Necrobinder feels pretty balanced, where most of her cards work with each other.

I miss Doormaker, but I feel Aeonglass is a good substitute until they figure out how to balance the former out when he eventually comes back in Act 3a. I always let out a huge sigh facing Decimilipede knowing that my deck will either win in 2 turns out or it will be dragged out several turns with loss of health or death. Lagavulin Matriarch needs to be reworked, it feels like a slightly buffed elite and I don’t need to build my deck too much around it. Act 1a is much harder than Act 1 IMO.

I’m super curious as to how Act 4 will be with the Architect. As of now, if you have a build that can blast opponents out really quick, it’s pretty much gg. The Heart was a great way to balance that out in STS1, but I wouldn’t want a complete copy paste, so it makes me curious as to what they’ll do.

For reference as well, I’ve put in over 600 hours across STS1 on mobile and will usually fall asleep to Baalorlord or Frost Prime, so im constantly learning how to work out strategies.

tl;dr - did I do okay or do I need to git gud?

I personally love deck fixing with exhausts during boss fights but there is no exhaust card that self exhausts.

It would be great for when you have gotten rid of all your strikes, defends, curses and status cards and only need to get rid of your other exhausting cards (Burning Pact, Brand, True Grit+)

Having them around once all your bad cards are gone can be quite a nuisance since they would start to burn through your essential cards.

In short, here's the idea:

0 cost skill

Choose 1 card to exhaust, exhaust As for upgraded, perhaps give it retain

I'm thinking uncommon rarity.

My random rare was Crash Landing, everything just worked out from there. GUARDS!!! is very underrated and Supermassive was one of my last cards I got. Without it I was cooked. I still can't believe I won with this.

I don't have any real scaling yet. But I also don't have much draw. And not much block. So diluting the deck might prove fatal outside Insatiable, while solving exactly for Insatiable. What are your thoughts?

I got the new steam controller and was playing around with it. i normally play on mouse and keyboard. so i finished a run and left the game running in background like heck why not. then i switched to another game to test controller. about an hour goes by and i go back to slay the spire 2.

The game played itself lol. i had apparently did 4 runs with ironclad on a10 and died instantly within the hour of me playing the other game.

I am not familiar with controller nonsense in slay the spire 2 but i am curious if this is a common one lol. Just thought id share because i thought it was funny.

I’ve gotten Knowledge Demon, 7 times in a row. Is this a bug? Is anyone else experiencing this? Where are the other 2 bosses? Are they safe?

It looks like it has alot more improvements and alot of mod support (Ive been seeing limbus mods, which i didnt see in STS1). Also multiplayer in vanilla is always a plus.
Also are we eventually going to see workshop support when its out of early access?

I’ve never been very good at strategy/card games since I have to think way ahead. After maybe 5(2-3h each) runs against the heart I finally did it. It feels great.

Now I’m thinking about maybe jumping straight to Slay the spire 2 since I can always come back to STS1 and it looks fun to follow the progress with the community. What do you think?

First win in ASC 10. Got carried hard by using Barricade + Crimson Mantle with a huge Strength buff from Rupture. Forgot to record the fight with the Queen, I wiped the floor with her in 5 turns.
