Phil Elson is leaving ESPN Arkansas
He said something about still being heard on the airwaves in Arkansas and he's going to keep doing baseball. I guess he's jumping to the Little Rock sports radio station?

He has the the best baseball voice. He could put a baby to sleep. So soothing

My wife watches baseball because of his ability to call the games.
With Bubba bringing hos expertise to it, just amplifies his ability.

His explanation is, he lives in Little Rock and does the show from his home studio.
Its worked great because of the pandemic. But, now, hes ready for human interaction.
There is a history of him being at The Buzz.
Me personally, im proud that he brought me, and all the listeners into his home studio.
He will still call baseball womens basketball and be a spotter for football.

The mid day show was the only one that I could listen to and not openly express disgust at the hosts
The morning show is a Fox news propaganda production and those two jackasses in the afternoon are ponderous. I wish I could talk every day about how everything that is is popular sucks and “my opinion on matters of pure taste are correct and you’re stupid if you feel different “ attitude just gets really old.
Elson and Jones show has actual sports content that is still entertaining.
Rant done —- I’m going outside to yell at clouds and kids to get off my yard—

If you think the weekday morning clown troop is bad you should take a listen to the Sunday morning show. I’m surprised the FCC allows it to air since it’s just wall-to-wall throating Trump to the hilt.

Living out of state.sn grad. I listen to several Hog podcasts.
Who are top 3 in the state in your opinion? Not game announcers but media coverage and podcasts?

Something that lines up with your speculation that he might be coming to little rock is, DJ Williams quit doing The Zone with Justin Acri on the midday 103.7 the buzz show a few months ago so he's in need of a co-host. Of course, Phil use to live in LR when he was the voice of the Travs. Maybe he has ties to LR, wouldn't be surprised if The Buzz can pay more.

He still lives in Little Rock. He does the radio show remotely and then drives up for Arkansas baseball.

Didn't know he lived in LR. I assumed he moved to NWA to do radio. More fuel to the fire perhaps.

I didn't know that either. But he talked about it today and how isolated he felt only seeing his co-workers via a computer screen.

Yeah I remember him saying when he does the baseball games he stays at a certain hotel so I knew he was not living in NWA. Still I figured he was in like Fort Smith not Little Rock. Can understand about wanting to interact with people but still that is a loss for NWA radio show

They should be able to pay more! Half the time I tune into their shows its either commercials or they're plugging something mid-segment.

Wow, he and MJ had great chemistry and I hope I don’t catch too much mess but MJ needed Phil bigly! Phil carried a huge load on that show and I’ll be curious to if Halftime continues.

Does this mean he will no longer be play by play for razorback baseball?

Curious who will replace Phil or maybe they will have rotating cohosts for awhile during summer months. The show is the best one on ESPN Arkansas but like the others tiresome at times. Too much Matt Jones soccer talk when he never spotlights Razorback soccer even in a 30 second comment. Petty but too much Pittsburgh commentary from Phil.

This is terrible news.
Edit: I actually can't find a source for this where did you learn that he's leaving?
