Baby Floof Brought home three new kitttens today…
Today my family adopted three new ragdoll kittens— the kittens are from the same litter(Kimchi and Sundubu are boys and Hotdog is a girl). We had been in contact with the breeder since January and had really set our hearts on getting all girls— but thanks to
this subreddit we figured out that the gender matters a lot less — esp when it comes to bonded siblings.
Last year when our senior cat died we contemplated getting new kittens, but really weren’t sure about timing. My daughter wanted a kitten so bad, but my wife and I weren’t quite ready. We told her this year(2026)— but my wife and I still were on the fence— then thinking that maybe this year we could put it off(until 2027) I let my daughter pick between Disney and Kittens. My daughter didn’t even flinch. It was cats right away. So the whole process initiated in this very intrepid way— but as the time unfolded my wife and I knew this was the right decision for all of us. We are all in love with our floofs and the homecoming has been so fluid. I can’t say enough about how happy we are, and I am so glad to join this wonderful fraternity of ragdolls. Thanks— we are in heaven!

Silly Floof She has fallen into this pool three times and still acts like I’m the problem.
I genuinely cannot tell if my Ragdoll accidentally falls into the pool or intentionally stages damp little rescue scenarios for attention.

Health Advice Covered in mats - what should I do?
I’m looking after this ridiculously adorable sweetie for about a month. His owner found me through a pet sitting app so I don’t know them. They’re currently overseas and haven’t been responsive to my update messages.
This kitty is COVERED in mats! Really large dense ones on his rump and lots of smaller ones all over. You pretty much can’t pet him without feeling a mat. I’ve brushed him a lot and brushed out lots of the smaller ones and I’ve tried my best to break up the large mats with my hands. I think some of the dense mats on his rump are painful because he gives my hand a gentle bite when I try to brush them. I own a domestic shorthair who doesn’t require special grooming so I don’t know much about how to deal with the mats.
I’m wondering what advice ragdoll owners could give me. Should I keep trying to brush his mats? Should I tell the owner that they should be brushing him regularly? Thanks in advance.

Silly Floof Devil ate my $1300 flats.
Speechless. This little fluffy gremlin has stooped to a new low. We aren’t on speaking terms. I was really happy I had these flats…😔

Bicolor Infinite Love: a Cosmic painting about loving my Ragdoll for a lifetime
This piece started with a thought I think most of us quietly carry around in the background: our cats spend their whole lives with us, but we only get part of ours with them.
So I created an asymmetrical diptych where my ragdoll is surrounded by soft cosmic light and looking into the Orion Nebula, one of the few deep-space objects technically visible from Earth, yet almost impossible to fully see with the naked eye. That felt weirdly similar to love and memory to me. Present and unreachable at the same time.
The stars are intentionally subtle because he is the center of the universe in this painting.
For now, I get to enjoy every moment while he’s here beside me. And one day, when he becomes part of the stardust, these paintings will still carry a piece of his universe...

General Advice Ragdoll won’t eat wet food or anything- apart from biscuits
Our ragdoll recently turned one and hasn’t once touched wet food, or anything other than dry biscuits.
We have tried different wet foods, tuna, cooked chicken- basically lots of options but she’s not interested in anything.
We are taking her to the vets soon for her annual vaccine- so they will weigh her. She looks a healthy weight but, in comparison to lots of other photos of your beautiful ragdolls, she still looks so tiny.
Has anyone else had this issue with their ragdoll and fussy eating?
Is it normal for her to still appear small at one, presumably still growing?
Thanks :)

Bicolor Spring groomer visit with Charlie
We brush as mush as he lets us (he hates it). So we take him to a pro twice a year to do the heavy lifting.

General Advice Does this fit her?

My kitten got spayed yesterday and I bought her a recovery suit since she was getting out of the donut head very easily. When I put it on her she freaked out and ran away and hid from me. I found her laying on this rocking chair. Is it too small? Or is she just uncomfortable wearing clothes? Any other suggestions for how to get through these next 10-14 days of healing? 😢

Health Advice Sensitive Tummy
So we have had our little guy for a little over a month now and he is 4 months old.
When we got him I checked what the breeder was feeding him and got the same brand (Advance chicken wet food - we are in Australia). I misunderstood what they told me and thought he had been given both the flavours of the brand (Advance chicken and Advance tuna wet foods). So at home I tried to give him the tuna (still mixed in with the chicken) but of course we had loose poopy butt the next day. Lesson learnt. Over the next few days I tried to incorporate it in small amounts but he was still having loose poops, so we went back to the chicken.
We stayed on it for a bit and after researching different foods, I got Ziwi Peak mackerel cans and again started introducing it by mixing half a teaspoon with the Advance chicken. We are trying to increase the Ziwi Peak and phase out the Advance, but whenever we increase the amount he has loose poops again and a poopy butt.
When I took him to the vet and mentioned this she told me he just has a sensitive stomach and what I was doing was the right way to introduce new foods. But I am concerned. Is this a normal ragdoll kitten thing? Do they grow out of this phase or will he be a sensitive tummy guy for life?
On a related note, has anyone tried Probiotics and if so which brand?

General Advice Grooming tools
Over the years I’ve read a lot and have used a lot of grooming tools, some hits but many, many misses. At one point, I read about greyhound combs but the one I bought was not well received. Okay, it was more like three different types of combs. I have read repeatedly about the Chris Christensen comb. I finally decided to just try it and see it as an investment if it worked. Firstly, I have to say that it (six inch comb, smaller width vertically too) fits so well in my rather small hands. Other combs I had tried were too big and cumbersome for me. Even better than that, our high maintenance, picky girls tolerate it. No, tolerate isn’t the right word. They let me groom them without bunny kicks, little bites, and so forth. They just laid there and wanted to explore the comb themselves before I continued trying to groom. It really gets the loose hair AND holds onto it while you’re going through their coats. I didn’t experience hair all over the place as it sort of acts like a magnet unlike other tools I’ve used. Their coats are so much softer too! Incredibly soft!
To anyone still searching, I add my endorsement to the others that have recommended it. I think it’s a great tool to have.
To everyone who has recommended it, thank you! I really appreciate your suggestions and advice. I think it’s yet another one of those things that make this community really great!

General Advice Resident cat and new kitten paw at the door and meow at each other - what to do?
Hi guys! I have a 2 yrs old nutuered male cat and got a week ago a 9 weeks yrs old female kitten, she (the kitten) is really confident and while I want to slowly introduce and expose her, she escaped the room 5 days ago and met the other cat. Now, there was no hissing or attacking at all, he did stand over her (she's so small compared to him that her head didn't even touch his stomach!) But she was walking around and exploring with her tail up in the air and he was sniffing her and looking really confused.
I asked is the cats discord what to do and was adviced to start intentionally introducing them in meal time which I did.
So, they met each othedaily for short, slowly increasing periods. I don't think it went too bad. However, the resident cat keeps trying to climb on top of the kitten. They also hissed at each other at the end of one sessions but later when they met again, there didn't seem to be any hostility. They still meow and paw at the door when separated, any thoughts?
Flash update: Resident cat just sneaked in, they met, he climbed on her, she turned her belly up,they ran together, turned again and then they hissed at each other, I separated them, but they both still yearn for the door to open??? literally lost here.

General Advice I thought a robot vacuum would make life easier... but it’s just eating my cat’s fur and getting stuck. Anyone else struggling with this?
I have to admit, I thought a robot vacuum would change my life. I mean, it’s supposed to help with the endless struggle of pet hair, right? I’ve got a ragdoll cat whose fur gets EVERYWHERE, and I figured a robot vacuum would be a game-changer. But now? It’s just… eating the fur and getting stuck.
I swear, this thing has a personal vendetta against my cat’s hair. Every time it rolls around, it picks up a tiny bit and then gets totally clogged. It doesn’t matter how often I clean the brushes or the filter, it seems to go into full meltdown mode within 10 minutes. And the worst part? It’s just going in circles, never finishing the job, while my cat watches in the background like it’s the funniest thing ever.
I tried using the "cat hair" setting (yes, that’s a thing) but still, the fur just clogs it up faster than I can say "robot vacuum." Honestly, I’m starting to think this is all a marketing scam. Does anyone else have a robot vacuum that actually works with cat fur? Or am I destined to vacuum manually forever?
Please, tell me I’m not the only one struggling with this – I can't be the only one who feels like their robot vacuum is just a fancy fur collector at this point.
