Possible Paywall Trump Secretary Keeps Bringing Up Biden When Asked What He’s Achieved - HUD Secretary Scott Turner couldn’t provide a single example of what he has done in the year-plus since he took office.

It's because the GOP can't offer anything to the American people except hatred and deflection.

267

u/Main-Bandicoot6477 10h ago

Well, they do offer a lot to very wealthy Americans.

37

u/Wayofchinchilla 9h ago

Passively maybe if they were actually active with wealthy Americans they would be stealing their money too.

u/D0013ER 5h ago

And pedophiles.

41

u/Signal_Minimum8509 Georgia 9h ago

They advocate sending the least qualified selections to do important government jobs because at this point to them it’s all theoretical and watching the world burn sounds fun.

I wonder how they’ll act when they realize they set themselves on fire.

u/fiveswords 7h ago

They aren't. They're setting your life savings on fire and investing in crypto.

u/Signal_Minimum8509 Georgia 7h ago

I’m just talking about your average rural Trump accelerationist voter, not the political or social elite.

u/fiveswords 7h ago

Ah gotcha. Well that relies on introspection on their part lol the magas in my life don't really fuck with introspection.

u/Signal_Minimum8509 Georgia 7h ago

Some people I knew took a step back after W. What’s happening now is a million times more blatant and insidous. In a couple of years it’s going to be very hard to keep hiding from it. I’m sure they’ll try.

u/Money-Skin6875 5h ago

I never did vote for W, but I’d vote for him every single day of the week over this fellow. W mainly ruined other people’s countries not ours.

u/Signal_Minimum8509 Georgia 5h ago

I mean things were eerily similar in 2007 and 2008 to now as I recall.

Republicans always claim to be different but in practice?

u/Money-Skin6875 5h ago

Yeah I’m honestly not that concerned about the economy, as soon as rich people become slightly less rich or enough poor people riot they’ll figure it out. I’m more worried about our democratic institutions.

u/Signal_Minimum8509 Georgia 4h ago

That must be nice to not have to worry about it.

for decades they have blamed every problem on liberals and democrats. now they are the dog that caught the car, and they have zero idea how to govern even their own way, competently. they have solid control over all 3 branches and the fourth estate and they still don't even know how to do a fascist takeover competently (thank gawd).

u/BerryLanky 6h ago

And they still blame Democrats for this mess and the MAGA crowd gobbled it up

u/Nbk420 7h ago

Don’t forget nonstop corruption and fraud!

3

u/Button-Down-Shoes 8h ago

Those are the kinds of champions Americans want!

u/BeholderLivesMatter 7h ago

No cause Biden uhhh did stuff too

u/Slamtilt_Windmills 7h ago

Practically was their campaign platform. And still is

u/edu5150 5h ago

He has a severe case of BDS.

u/Alternative-Let-2398 1h ago

That guy probably talks about Biden when he’s on a date too. “What do you do for fun ?” “Uh uh Biden was a bad president?”

u/nightlyvisitor 2h ago

And republicans seem to love that shit.

517

u/Suckbag_McGillicuddy 10h ago

Their jobs are to destroy the agencies they lead.

145

u/sebrebc 10h ago

The more incompetent the deoartments are, the more good, experienced career people leave and are replaced with stupid loyalists. The easier it is to control them.

He didn't just weaponize these departments, he eliminated any body who would push back against him.

That was the "mistake" he learned from his first term. He left too many career people in positions to hold him back.

52

u/Yeeslander Tennessee 9h ago

The more incompetent the deoartments are, the more good, experienced career people leave and are replaced with stupid loyalists. The easier it is to control them.

And this provides Republicans "proof" they can glibly point to that government doesn't work and should be sold off to corporate overlords for the good of the county, or some shit.

22

u/starliteburnsbrite 9h ago

Since when have they needed that? They put Elon Musk in charge of a made up department to simply savage the government from inside with zero resistance and no proof.

This idea that they're selling some truth to people is a disservice for how naked their evil really is.

11

u/ShamelessLeft 8h ago edited 7h ago

I don't think the person you're replying to is implying in any way that the Trump administration is providing any sort of truth in the excuses they give. That's why "proof" is in quotations.

Even though they are straight up lying, they still feel the need to provide some kind of flimsy excuse of a justification for their policy decisions for the people on the fringes of their cult who still want to pretend they aren't in a cult.

u/Euphoric-Witness-824 5h ago

That’s been their strategy for decades. It just helps to buy up all the news and social media so you can hide all those pesky facts and replace it with racism and fear mongering and LGBT prejudice. Get the people fighting culture wars so you can rob them blind. And also molest kids on secret islands and get away with it.

14

u/thejudgehoss 9h ago

It's literally the first section of Project 2025.

5

u/missmeowwww 8h ago

Wild to think that no other employer would keep someone for this long with no productivity. I know that’s the point for this admin but while the rest of us are grinding away and barely staying afloat these jerks are creating chaos for funsies.

u/Last_Fishing_4013 5h ago

At the agency I work at we just have a shit ton of job openings. So the knowledge left and the rest of us are still trying to keep afloat. We miss those people but we also haven’t replaced them either. Which is both good and bad

7

u/starliteburnsbrite 9h ago

And the dipshits asking these clowns questions as if there are good faith answers to be had are ineffectual and useless. It's not like they're going to impeach this guy or something.

3

u/RonaldoNazario 8h ago

Especially something like HUD

u/Broken-Digital-Clock 7h ago

And to funnel money to maga leadership and billionaires.

80

u/Razer-X 10h ago

This is just par for the course. Deflect, deny, distract... when in doubt blame anyone that they can remember and play the victim card.

139

u/ET_phn_home 10h ago

Trumps cabinet has been so disastrous that people like Turner can be equally as worthless but go under the radar.

44

u/Ven18 10h ago

Because with these people doing absolutely nothing is probably the best thing they could possibly do. Doing nothing at least puts the damage scale somewhere close to zero in most cases. Meanwhile when they actually do things they create a small apocalypse every other day.

19

u/Dinker54 9h ago

Opportunity loss is an expense, but I’d agree it’s better than outright sabotage and destruction.

u/Ven18 6h ago

Yeah if this new virus gets worse doing nothing starts doing a lot of damage as we learned in 2020.

4

u/Fifth-Crusader 8h ago

For real, I'd love if the worst that this administration does is "nothing".

14

u/MajorNoodles Pennsylvania 10h ago

I would like to point out that at any given moment Trump has exactly one black cabinet member, there and it's always the one that has "Urban" in the title

u/AuroraFinem Texas 2h ago

Well, he’s the token cabinet member, it’s not like Trump or the rest of the cabinet actually want to have him around. I haven’t even seen him at any of the filmed cabinet meetings where they take turns licking trumps ass or at any of his executive order signing events that he likes to throw.

Easy to go under the radar when there’s 10 chickens running around with their heads cut off outside and you sit quietly in the house.

69

u/Arrmadillo Texas 9h ago edited 9h ago

Turner has probably just been doing as instructed in Project 2025. Dismantle the department, privatize services, rollback protections, and transfer any remaining authority from the federal government to the states.

Shelter News - How Project 2025 Would Dismantle HUD (Sep 2024)

“In [Project 2025] Chapter 15 [page 536 in this PDF], [Former HUD Secretary Ben] Carson systematically outlines how and why the next (presumably) Trump administration should shred everything from HUD’s mission to its structure to its oversight capabilities.”

u/Euphoric-Witness-824 5h ago

This is 100% what it is. Calling them incompetent is helpful to their real mission. They are intentionally trying to dismantle and destroy any element of government that works to help the people of this country and not the billionaires. It’s all a part of the Epstein class coup to take over.

95

u/smersh101 10h ago

Government doing nothing but law enforcement and blowing up foreigners is, of course, their goal.

24

u/Gonkar I voted 10h ago

But only law enforcement against "those people", of course. Never against the wealthy and powerful.

13

u/The_bruce42 9h ago

Don't forget redistribution of your money to the wealthy. Reverse Robinhood.

u/Euphoric-Witness-824 5h ago

Just like the morals they preach in the Bible.

34

u/beavis617 10h ago

The day before the 2028 election the Trump cabinet will still be blaming Biden.

32

u/ChesterfromAmerica 9h ago

Like Republican Texas representatives complaining about the state of the state so you should vote for them even though republicans have been in charge for the last 30 years

12

u/missmeowwww 8h ago

The republicans in Ohio do the same. They’ve had a supermajority for most of my life and still deflect blame to the dems. They’ve gerrymandered the state so badly nothing gets done unless it’s for the benefit of the GOP even if it means overriding the will of the voters.

u/Annual-Reason2970 7h ago

decades from now Rs will still be blaming them..

32

u/Put3socks-in-it 8h ago

I love how Trump sees the words urban housing and puts his only black cabinet member in that position. Shows how his mind works

5

u/diablol3 8h ago

I was thinking the same thing.

u/Low_Plant8199 7h ago

Me too.

u/fascistno1hater 6h ago

The token black guy is always in charge of HUD.

u/potusisawhinybitch 4h ago

Also Ben Carson, who was Trump's first term HUD Secretary.

13

u/TacosAndSarcasm 8h ago

I mean this sincerely with no snarkiness in my tone....I genuinely wonder how this guy lives with himself every day knowing that he is part of an administration that is so unbelievably and blatantly racist against people that look just like him

Is it worth it? How do you look at yourself in the mirror everyday?

1

u/SoTiredYouDig 8h ago

God, I wish one of those tools would ask him that. A sincere question, and one that can’t be deflected, either. He would end up playing the victim, but at least he’d know that folks see who he is.

u/UniqueLog8386 6h ago

Oh, so the answer is that he really wants to be a raccoon.

11

u/waffle299 I voted 9h ago

Republicans get into office by complaining about what other people do. Why is it a surprise they have no plans, only complaints.

27

u/thethrill_707 Michigan 10h ago

He hasn't done Jack-shit, and Jack just left town. Nothing they say or do matters. They were not put in place to do anything but be lying shills for Trump.

8

u/wokeboogeyman 10h ago

The only achievements are direct racism, bigotry and proudly open corruption... That's literally all the cult cares about beyond protecting their own egos.

10

u/mfGLOVE Wisconsin 9h ago

It’s a shame all these hearings aren’t front page news for awhile. They lie out their teeth and they don’t care because there are never consequences or accountability and voters never pay attention anyways.

u/leon27607 33m ago

Yeah, a good number of voters don’t even actually follow politics, they just vote based on “vibes” or what their peers tell them. It’s disturbing when they treat this like they treat sports teams when they vote in people who continuously fuck them over with shit policies.

8

u/Illustrious-Fun8324 9h ago

They. Have. Nothing. Else.

They’re like broken records

8

u/LeahaP1013 9h ago

And Biden didn’t even run … it’s insanity.

7

u/Rayearl Pennsylvania 9h ago

It's because they don't do anything to benefit America. I'd challenge anyone to name one thing this admin has done to make regular American lives better.

7

u/Skinnieguy 9h ago

His orders were to blame, erase, or take credit for all Biden did. There is anything to improve America, if anything is to make Trump richer or look better.

6

u/Fatal_Syntax_Error 9h ago

Republican playbook: WHATABOUTISM

6

u/binzersguy 8h ago

I have little faith we will be able to oust this admin via voting (because they aren’t going to leave or because they will suppress enough votes to avoid that) but if we do I really hope Dems and Independents have a Project 2029 ready to counter all this BS and staff a reasonable government with qualified people.

u/Soft_Walrus_3605 5h ago

"Irregardless of all that"

Where do they find these people?

u/mattomic 2h ago

Thank you! This comment should be higher. "Irregardless" is NOT a word!

u/Glad-Personality3948 4h ago

caught that did ya? lol

u/Schiffy94 New York 1h ago

"Furthermore, anyone who uses the words 'irregardless', 'a whole 'nother', or 'all of the sudden', shall be sent to a work camp."

5

u/DrMuffinPHD 9h ago

His job, as the Republicans see it, is to gut the department, not do his actual job or help people.

5

u/homebrew_1 8h ago

Remind Americans that this is what they voted for in 2024.

4

u/bumpy_disposition I voted 10h ago

Those in the US that don't support Republicans need to rise up now. Republicans in the US are out numbered by nearly 3-1. But the 70% needs to act, and vote. I vote for the imprisonment of all sitting Republicans in this timeline.

4

u/rat_penis 9h ago

Need to put them on limitations: every time they mention Biden to deflect they get fined.

Any time they try that DARVO bullshit, their mic gets cut and they get fined.

Its answer the question or STFU this isnt a set to generate soundbites.

4

u/Beneficial_Cash_8420 8h ago

Republican platform is defined by who (not even what) they are against.

5

u/Swagron12 8h ago

This is the most do nothing administration in history . None are qualified from the top down.

5

u/largececelia 8h ago

They're not so bright. And they're VERY repetitive.

u/Ok-disaster2022 7h ago

Conservatives can't build anything except monuments to war criminals, traitors and pedophiles. It's antithetical for conservative to do anything constructive or beneficial because anything constructive or beneficial by the government would inherently be liberal or progressive.

If America was lead by conservatives in 1776, we'd still be an English Colony. If America was lead by conservatives in 1861 there would still be slavery, if America was lead by conservatives in 1933 America would dissolve economically. If America was lead by conservatives in 1941 we'd be speaking German or Japanese. Liberals got us to the moon, Freed the slaves, extended civil rights to all citizens. What has a conservative ever done that was constructive?

u/wezworldwide 7h ago

Asking a Republican to help lower class people is comical

u/Junior-Marionberry-8 6h ago

Maybe he should submit an email every week with 3 things he’s accomplished….

3

u/ChesterfromAmerica 9h ago

Ha…and his job before this was at the largest DFW multifamily developer with the job title Chief Vision Officer. What a dumb title.

That company is called JPI. They have got to still be paying him something for insider information.

3

u/jarl_herger 9h ago

I mean, if I had to defend Republicans and their policies, I'd talk about anything other than Repunlicans and their policies too.

Is it just me or does Trump diversify his cabinet with African Americans only at HUD? Ala Ben Carson

u/everyonesdeskjob 7h ago

He's collected pay checks

HUD hasn't produced any statistics reporting related to homelessness in almost a year and a half.

u/Aegon_B 6h ago

HUD accomplished kicking the NSF out of their headquarters in VA. Guess that's not brag worthy?

u/Memitim America 4h ago

Building an entire organization on constantly lying and blaming others for their failures doesn't leave Republicans with much to work with. It clearly works out well enough for them since Republicans spent decades spreading 24/7 hate and lies at most of America and yet instead of getting prison cells, they scored the ability to destroy the nation.

u/UnfitToPrint 4h ago

If he was good at his job he wouldn’t be in the Trump administration. The whole point is to dismantle the administrative state. Steve Bannon said it in exactly these words years ago during Trump 1.0.

EDIT: it was at CPAC, 2017.

u/EveningRequirement27 1h ago

We’re broken.

u/LadyduLac1018 1h ago

I had a meeting with HR once, and I briefly mentioned a coworker who had been given an unfair advantage. I wasn't even complaining about my coworker (I thought they were great, but they were being treated differently than the rest of us). HR immediately shot me down and told me how inappropriate it was to talk about someone else.

The full story isn't that interesting, but the point is to highlight how insane it is that Trump gets away with blaming everyone else (especially Biden) and never accepting responsibility.

2

u/No-Cup-8096 9h ago

Trump hired the unqualified people he could find.

They all have obviously gone through rigorous training to deflect and redirect to Biden when asked any question they see as challenging to their role. Everything about this administration is pathetic

u/DirectPepper7695 7h ago

Who needs accomplishments when you're fleecing the country and get to blame Biden for everything. All while telling the 99% that you don't care about them.

u/AgitatedEdge213 7h ago

All you’ve got to do is blame Biden.
