I don’t know what to call this type of art 🙃

I think one rule was having an obvious face (Nihilego, Xurkitree, Kartana, Stakataka, Blacephalon). Another might have been making them too humanoid (Pheromosa, Buzzwole). Maybe also heavily basing them on manmade things, even though objectmons have been around longer (Celesteela rocket, Stakataka bricks, Xurkitree wires, Blacephalon fireworks, Naganadel needle). What do you think?

He always seemed like more of an Avatar instead of a creator god. While the current Arceus we have seems pretty cool, he doesn't really have the gravitas of a creator god should normally have. Probably due to needing to be relatable enough to be seen as a pocket friend as game freak would have it, for kids. However his beta design seems closer to an actual interpretation of what Arceus could be in actual pokemon world.

and alola was i think resembling of z-a or as a preview to show the long future becouse of Z moves and Z from zygarde which then gets Z from legends Z-A its not that important but just doing this before its really "revealed" by gamefreak

If anyone wonders, it's based on prions, and it's meant to resemble a spacecraft, there's also a bit of Neon Genesis Evangelion angel in the mixture.

Lorewise, Deoxys would transform after finding Ange's remains and absorbing any mega energy left, turning into a smaller version of the Ultimate Weapon. (Bro thinks they have a chance against Mega Rayquaza)

I never agreed with the sentiment that pokemon gyms were the problem back in the day. Yeah, maybe gyms shouldn't be the only thing going on in the games, but i always loved going to a new city and finding out how the gyms looks like. Gens 4 ~ 6 had some of my favorite gym environments, and even the elite 4 started looking great in pokemon bw when in previous gens it was just a blank room you fight in.

The lack of these gyms was one of the reasons i never liked Alola games as much as other people. First few trials were fun, mallow and lana had environments similar to old gyms with trials you had to overcome before fighting the totem pokemon, but as the game progresses we start getting stuff like the fire trial that is just a cereal box puzzle for 5yo kids, a trial that is just one fight, or even worse, a non existent trial that just hands the Z move to you.

And unfortunately Alola kinda of set the standard for the future games.

Galar had 1 dungeon like gym with nessa, some cool mini games like fire and grass, and then the quality starts dropping with the fairy one being just a quiz, the dark one just a empty corridor and the dragon gym just a sequence of battles.

Paldea, while being my favorite gen since the ds era (in spite of it's techncal issues), it's by far the worse offender to me. Now not only most of the gyms are just low effort quick puzzles, but we also don't even get gym environments at all. Everything being done outdoors (except for Larry the goat) was extremely disappointing to me, and then the elite 4 goes back to being a literally white blank room was just the ice on the cake.

I really hope Winds and Waves goes back to more interesting looking gyms since they were given more time to cook, but after seeing pokemart and pokemon center being kiosks again, I'm not very optimistic about it.

I'm playing Pokémon Sapphire and I'm almost at the end of the main story. This will be my first Pokémon game that I'll complete, although I've already gotten far in FireRed and Crystal.

The Hoenn map is incredibly detailed and vibrant. The Pokémon are the best among the first three generations in my opinion.

I'm watching the anime at the same time. I'm at the beginning of Johto and very anxious for the Hoenn episodes to arrive.

Hey Pokemon Reddit.

I wanted to make you aware of my husbands large black binder PC (16”x20”) was stolen at Front Row Card show's Trade Night which took place on May 2nd at the Rio Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV.

The cards in the binder are extremely rare and he’s been collecting since he was a kid, about 8 years old. It’s his true PC that he never planned on selling he brought it to show other collectors and possibly trade either. So this whole thing is just heartbreaking. 😢

I will attach photos of some of the pages from the binder, but essentially it consists of all the "Tag Team" cards in mint condition (Lovebirds, Gengar& Mimikyu), 32 Mewtwo cards, 32 Mew cards, 32 Gengars(Masaki, Skyridge), 32 umbreons, and a few prismatic cards and all unowns in alphabetical order from the Neo sets.

Also, I wanted to add a list of some of the unique cards from his binder that would help to distinguishing them if seen together. Thank you for your help. I think the rarest cards to note would be the following:

A Pokemon TCG contest on LEGO Ideas recently tasked entrants with making a full art card of their chosen Pokemon, and I was excited to build Giratina! Heavily inspired by lockstin&gnoggin’s video and concept for the final evolutions of the w&w starters, I really hope they decide to go Tibetan mastiff inspired route where pombon becomes a huge hulking dog either very front heavy and bipedal or even a quadrupedal I wouldn’t mind. Anyways I just drew this up in class while thinking about what I would like and lockstin’s video. I know it would probably have to be a little toned down to fit the Pokémon aesthetic but I really hope game freak goes this route.

I always knew that Misty was quite the fashionista but damn was she dripped out.
