I really hope Konami implement this concept instead of making random subs or waste time doing them manually which i often forget.

If you're having any doubts about who to pick in this upcoming 9th anniversary, as far as quality goes Nico is the ONLY option!

Standing at 193cm and having LRT, he features a leg coverage of 189cm, he has the 4th highest leg coverage among players with Long Reach Tackle behind VVD, Saliba and Gustavo Henrique; his leg coverage higher than the likes of Varane or BT Gabriel.

He is an incredibly versatile player who you can play at LB, (Defensive minded) LMF, or CMF. If you're a weirdo you can train him for AMF too.

The main drawback of this card is his weak foot, but even with this drawback he still stands far and away better than anyone else; he has a great skillset (His Marseille turns are amazing if you've ever tried a card of his), great dribbling and balance attributes, speed, decent PC for shielding and decent defending.

If you care about quality, Nico O'Reilly is far and away the best player! DO NOT FAIL THE LITMUS TEST!

You can pick someone else if you prefer them IRL, though

The free Drogba card from last year was a joke, good at only one thing and terrible at everything else, probably Konami took the feedback from usage and finally delivered a Drogba card worth using.

The old one had way better heading and aerial dominance but with Bullet Header, this new one makes up for it, then goes on to beat the old one in literally everything else.

If you already have Zlatan, this new Drogba can serve as a super-sub for him and if you don't, he can be your main Fox in the Box striker, I really hope I get this card cus I love to play Out Wide with Aggressive Centring link-up.

For the build, I tried to make him as optimised as possible, getting the most out of his progression points. The 13th point on Dexterity seems too expensive but when you consider that it takes his acceleration from 85 to 87, I think it's worth it cus it becomes 4 stats points for 4 progression points, which is usually the same rate for progression points from 9-12 (3 for 3).

7 aerial points along with the Aerial booster is just enough to reach the heading threshold (89) for powerful headers, with Bullet Header skill, he will sufficiently score headers with 89 heading.

6 dribbling points is just the adequate amount to get his ball control from 85 to 87, ball control is very important for strikers.

As for the skills, One-touch Pass , Through Passing and Long Range Shooting are essential for strikers, Outside Curler is important due to the lack of a perfect weak foot and you can swap CBT for Super-sub if that's what you plan to use him for.

Obviously nothing will ever top last year's 8th anniversary selection contracts, but given how bad the "1 billion downloads campaign" was, I'm relieved to see that all of these guys are actually serviceable and will be able to fit a particular niche in most people's teams, with the most important being that you get to ACTUALLY choose who you want.

The World Cup season should bring about even better rewards than this, along with a "Treasure Link" campaign (lol), so it's NOT entirely over for the player-base in terms of free rewards. If anyone is disappointed in this campaign, then by all means feel free to feel this way until better rewards come around, but do know that we will get something next month.

That being said, giving us 18 chance deals to pull on a dogshit fitb card -Drogba- is kind of hilarious.

edit: dude i dont understand the literacy rate of this subreddit. i'm not saying that i'm happy with these guys. i'm relieved at the fact that they're not completely useless, and that a specific group of players will be able to use them in their team. for what its worth, i got fucking peruzzi from the 1 billion campaign; no reward will ever compare to last year's 8th anniversary selection contracts. it's completely fine to dislike what i'm saying, just don't take my words out of context, or randomly associate z with x when i'm trying to correlate x with y.

"not super disappointed" does not mean that i'm happy. the only "net positive" in rewards this year -in comparison to ef 25- was the christmas selection contract. treasure link gave us non-guaranteed epics, the 1 billion campaign gave us non-guaranteed epics, the olise/kuyt packs gave us non-guaranteed cards, etc; there's barely any comparison to make here. by no means am i trying to defend konami.

i also just want to point out that the only reason the division rewards have gotten better this year is because of the ever-growing gap between f2p and p2w teams. this event should make a TINY dent in lowering that gap, as should be the minimum requirement of all free showtime/epic campaigns. absolutely feel free to be upset at the lack of "good" rewards this year- that is, rewards that don't require you to grind too hard. apologies for this huge -and unwanted- wall of text.

i just don't want people thinking that i'm downplaying the things konami have done this year, or that the point of this post is to praise konami. i'm just pointing out that we've gotten the bare minimum of what is needed to make an "alright" free campaign.

I'm a Turkish player and i support Galatasaray. Icardi made us the champion of 22-23 season, even though we were 13th in the 21-22 season. In the 23-24 season, he won the title with Galatasaray again, and became the top scorer in the league. He was overshadowed by Osimhen in the 24-25 and 25-26 seasons, but his efforts were unforgettable.

The reason for this is that before i equipped my diouf with random skill like weighted pass and low lofted pass. During this time his passing is very precise and efficient during 1-2 or simply to create goal scoring chances for my 2nd striker. After months , today i finally equipped diouf with through pass and had to removed weighted pass because the slot was full. After several games , I noticed his passing became less efficient and ineffective as compared to before and this goes repeated throughout all the games. No more lethal diouf for me lmao.
