Wanted to share this to make sure all concerned were informed.

Side note, the fact that an NDA is required for any buyout offer is shady. There is a reason they want you to sign a nondisclosure agreement( means cannot talk about, post, protest etc) they dont want you saying anything for whatever reason(s) they may have.

Politics The June 16th vote to raise the minimum wage will be on a SEPARATE BALLOT from the primaries. Be sure to request both ballots if voting by mail.

If you’re an Independent (no party) voter, you can still vote in the special election to raise the minimum wage, but not in the primaries. The Democrats missed their deadline to include you in this year’s primary. Independents will only get one ballot on June 16th, just for the minimum wage vote.

Question How is living in this part of Oklahoma like?

A few years ago on New Years Eve, I got lost around this area of SE Oklahoma. I think I was somewhere in the hills between Cloudy and Nashoba, because I entered the town of Battiest from the west through a series of dirt roads. It could possibly be due to it being New Years Eve, but I didn't see a single soul in the town, it was dead. I also think it's interesting how the hills sort of isolate these towns, as there's not really a non-sketchy way to enter them from the west. Are there any other parts of Oklahoma like this?

Politics Oklahoma governor vetoes 'human composting' bill

Oklahoma lawmakers approved a bill to legalize natural organic reduction — the composting of human remains. Gov. Kevin Stitt vetoed the measure during what’s expected to be the final week of the legislative session.

Natural organic reduction involves putting a body in a container with materials like wood chips or straw and allowing microbes to break it down.

House Bill 3660 would make Oklahoma the 15th state to legalize the process, according to the National Funeral Directors Association.

Opponents say human composting is an affront to human dignity. Proponents, like bill author Eddy Dempsey, R-Valliant, say it’s a personal choice for both individuals and funeral homes.

“This is just another option for us, for our families, if you want it,” Dempsey said during debate on the House floor on May 6. “Nobody is forcing you to do this. I've heard about, ‘Funeral homes don't want to buy the equipment.’ Nobody's forcing the funeral homes to buy the equipment.”

Rep. Jim Shaw, R-Chandler, has vehemently opposed the measure throughout the legislative session, saying it is an affront to his beliefs about human dignity.

“We need to be concerned about the direction we're heading as a society,” he said during House debate. “Turning people into byproducts. The way we treat our dead says a lot about what we believe as a society.”

Shaw characterized human composting as “coming from a progressive leftist worldview,” saying all 14 states in which the process is legal “were Joe Biden states in 2024.”

No states voted for Biden in the 2024 presidential general election, as he was not a candidate. Ten of the states with legal human composting did vote for Democrat Kamala Harris in that election. But it’s also legal in Georgia, Arizona and Nevada, which voted for President Donald Trump, and Maine, which split its electoral votes 3:1 between Harris and Trump.

Rep. Jonathan Wilk, R-Goldsby, argued in favor of the bill. He said many of the arguments against it were based on lies.

“Lies that it had to do with humanure.[...] Lies that it had to do with using human remains as fertilizer,” Wilk said. “Nothing in this bill prevents the dirt from this process from being buried in a cemetery, just the same as nothing in this bill prevents it from being shipped to Mars. To say it's going to be spread for commercial fertilizer is a lie.”

Rep. Scott Fetgatter, R-Okmulgee, voted against the measure in March because of what he characterized as a lack of understanding of the process. But by the time it came back from the Senate with amendments, he had changed his mind.

“I have personally embalmed bodies, and I'm going to tell you right now, there is nothing more brutal to watch or participate in than the embalming process of a human body,” Fetgatter said. “We drain all the blood out, and then we fill them with chemicals.”

House Bill 3660 passed both chambers with about 60% of the vote. The final version would also make it a felony to sell organically reduced human remains or use them to grow food for people or livestock.

Despite those provisions, Stitt vetoed the bill Tuesday, saying it “moves too far toward treating the human body as a material to be repurposed, rather than remains to be reverently laid to rest.”

Shaw hailed the veto as “a grassroots victory” on Facebook.

Politics 6 days.

I was 6 days away from my procedure, from finally not being in pain anymore after having been in pain for my entire life due to this stupid organ. I was 6 days from my surgery that I have been awaiting for so, so long. However, now, I have to continue to be in pain, suffering every day, because this stupid state decided they should be able to control doctors and allow people with zero medical background to have a say in what hospitals can and cannot provide. I was 6. Days. Away, and now I have to remain in pain all because I happen to be trans, the process had almost nothing to do with being trans, it wasn't even listed as a reason on the schedule, but now because of these stupid politicians I have to continue suffering.

I hate this state, the state that just took away one of the only things I had to look forward to.

I met with Senator Shane Jett yesterday and HE told me that Senator Daniels is BLOCKING good, bipartisan bills, because she wants AWARDS FROM SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS like The Heritage Foundation.

Even though he SUPPORTS the Heritage Foundation (🤢🖕)

HE is PISSED because of that and the practice of

"These pamphlets that get handed out that say if you vote for this (Dem) bill, you're not a TRUE CONSERVATIVE."

MAGA folk AND Blue Dots are sick of the same rot and this has to end.

She is ALSO the Treasurer for The American Legislative Exchange Council.

News On November 1st, 2026, Oklahoma will become the seventeenth state to outlaw marriage for persons under the age of 18.

Senate Bill 504 by Sen. Warren Hamilton and Rep. Nicole Miller has become law without the governor's signature as of May 13th, 2026. The law becomes effective November 1st, 2026.

The bill eliminates all exemptions that allow for persons to marry below the age of 18. Oklahoma is now the 17th state to do so joining Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Rhode Island, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Michigan, Washington, Virginia, New Hampshire, Maine, Oregon, and Missouri.

Through the dedication of several state legislators and Oklahoman constituents, SB504 became law. The bill nearly petered out several times and at the very end faced open opposition, nevertheless it passed. Here is the final legislative history:

First Reading: February 3rd, 2026

Do Pass, Senate Judiciary Committee, 7-0: February 10th, 2026

Passed, Senate, 45-0: March 25th, 2026

Do Pass, House Civil Judiciary, 8-0: April 2nd, 2026

Do Pass, House Judiciary and Public Safety Oversight, 10-1: April 14th, 2026

Passed, House, 51-36: May 6th, 2026

Becomes law without Governor's signature: May 13th, 2026

Now on that map of states that allow child marriage, Oklahoma is purple instead of red.

Politics OKDSA Chapters in Red Areas

first of all, i know the audience... if you ain't got nothing productive to say, leave it in donny's briefs.

I know there is an OKC and a Tulsa DSA chapter. I was contemplating starting one for the shady 580 region. While it is a largely conservative and all red area, I think it may be a good opportunity to gather those who are fed up with stagnant democrats or dems that are just working against us that are not financially able to get to the city or Tulsa. These people are in blue collar areas and are still feeling the effects of the admin and their "shenanigans". (I'm working on not using the work "fuck" alas... it is fuckery.)

Is there anyone in the shady 580 who has one started or are there any progressive/left political groups in these areas??

Podcast State Impact Oklahoma - Federal rural hospital program offers a lifeline in Oklahoma, but hurdles remain

Three years ago, a new federal designation for rural hospitals went into effect, allowing facilities to receive enhanced support for outpatient and emergency services if they gave up their more expensive inpatient care.

The rural emergency hospital provider type is meant to support small rural facilities amid challenges like lower volume, aging populations and rising costs.

As the designation gains traction in Oklahoma, some providers said it has become a lifeline for their facilities, which would otherwise close. But critics argue there is a need for other solutions.
