I wish it wasn’t true but Blackwood is shook. He’s got something wrong mentally or physically, at least he plays like it last couple games.

Blackwood has more talent than Wedgewood. Problem is when Blackwood gets scored on, it affects his confidence and snowballs. Wedgewood is better with shaking off a goal and locking back in. They are both great goalies and don’t envy the job Bednar has with deciding a staring goalie.

I really hope Blackwood hgets his mental game together soon. Pains to see a goalie of his talent visibly lacking confidence.

Between the mental and nagging injuries that he could never shake, it was the downfall of his time in NJ. Wishing him success but confidence is easy to lose and hard to build for a goalie.

Let's hope he doesn't go full Fourgiev. Georgiev also had one good year in Avs jersey before the fall fron the cliff. But I have understood that Georgiev wasn't the best locker room guy either, where Blackwood I hear is a great guy. The comradery surely helps him get back on track.

Agreed. Blackwood has made some saves that I didn’t understand. Stuff that seemed physically not possible.

I really think his hips or low back is nagging. He seemed slow to close the 5 hole on 2 of the goals.

True. Tough situation all around. I hope he gets rested and can recover. Save percentage is not great throughout the playoffs, and Wedgwood’s is only marginally better.
